Even if we try as much as to do not compare this with 'Panchayat', it will definitely make you feel that it is a story from nearby village of Phulera. Story opens with excitement, but then entire plot misses and goes on different paths. It has no goal on where it will end up. If you this its a story between two doctors, and who is the real one, then you are guessing it completely wrong. Thats not the case, this is mix of everything, but not the straight story. Also, Anandeshwar Dwiwedi is the one who owns the stage and you definitely miss his presence if he is not on the screen. Overall, light hearted story which gives some giggles and keeps you excited about Panchayat!
This is a TVF creation and thus public instantly expects a lot and somewhere they compare it with its blockbuster creation "Panchayat."No matter Panchayat is extremely good but this series "Gram Chikitsalay" is different. At many places you will laugh out loud and at many places you will be emotional. The set up is extremely good, music is good as well as all the actors did very well. Watch it but without any high expectations and also without comparing it with "Panchayat". Both are different and both are entertaining.
The complete series is about a dedicated intelligent doctor who chose to serve the people of a remote village But for him this decision turned out to be a great challenge for him and the story continues as he tries to overcome all his hardships to make his primary health center into a fully functional heath center. Its sweet simple. Definetly it's a one time watch series. Do give it a try. Streaming on amazon prime and it's a prime exclusive.

The first two episodes of the series had me completely with light hearted gags and superficial struggles of Amol's character. However the story gets serious from episode 3 and ends in a way no one would have imagined after watching the trailer. The character choices are drawn heavily from Panchayat (web series) and hence do not feel fresh. Amol Parashar's attempt is honest but Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak and Akash Makhija are spot on. Garima Vikrant Singh however overshadows them all. I had last seen her in a daily soap called Nimki Mukhiya and had never imagined her doing such a role. Every single actor including the one who plays Sudhir has given his 100% but the story and character development is so abrupt that you cannot remain connected with anyone for long. The series does not stay with you after you complete it but does manage to keep you hooked through out. Probably because you want to see more of Vinay Pathak, but that never happens.
The story as I said is weak and is merely touching upon the struggles MOs have to face during their mandatory rural postings. The research is not proper and grounded. The screenplay also seems to have been written in haste. May be the makers were in a hurry to release it.
Goofs: 1. People are wearing sweaters in September.
2. The guy who delivers vaccine to MO should have come from CMO office, but comes from the direction of village.
3. Village people keep switching from bhojpuri to maghi and maithili.

TVF delivers again. Lead actor is a find. Panchayat reimagined in a beautiful way and holds its own despite the inevitable comparisons it will garner.
I'm stoked at the quality of OTT content that TVF is delivering. And can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes. Loved the simplicity and the theme with a positive message that is sure to resonate with the audience.
Thank you, TVF and the makers of Panchayat who have kept high standards with script, dialog, direction and a wonderful cast. Each character is uniquely gifted and delivers to delight and cherish.
I look forward to many more of this from TVF.

.. at all. I can't say this enough because anyone who has watched that is certainly going to compare Gram Chikitsalaya with it on some level and they'll end up extremely disappointed.
Gram Chikitsalaya is far more serious, not meant to be as wholesome or even as simple as Panchayat. It is slightly less cheerful and complex. And most of all, it is slow. Agter having watched 5 episodes, I'm not sure if I can identify its genre. In fact, some issues that were raised in earlier episodes are still unresolved, so it's not a "drama of the episode" kind of series either.
It was only after the fifth episode that I could tell that this whole time they were just setting it up. It's too early to tell if this is a good one or not, and that's already saying something.
It may not be compulsory for a series to get you hooked early enough. After all, TVF has earned our trust enough that we could hang on for a few more episodes.
All that said, there's still potential, and once it finds its ground, I'm sure this will be great in its own way.
