The movie was shot in winter 2024 on location in the Jura department, in the cities of Les Rousses, Bois-d'Amont, Morbier and Vaudioux, where the Billaude waterfall is located.
The original French title, "Un ours dans le Jura", means "A bear in the Jura", Jura being the name of a rural and mountainous department in Eastern France, close to Switzerland.
The working title was "L'argent ne fait pas le bonheur, mon cul !", which translates to "Money doesn't buy happiness, my ass!".
Franck Dubosc, mostly known in France for his slapstick comedies, wanted to go a little darker for this movie, and was inspired by the Coen brothers' movies, especially Fargo: Uma Comédia de Erros (1996), with the gruesome murders in a snowy rural area. Knowing his audience, though, Dubosc took great care not to go too far, and thus made his best to soften the violence, and used music to lighten up the mood.
