Bad Frank

So I went in blind, got really pulled in by it (which in itself is an achievement) but ultimately felt disappointed by where it went...

Really good character background build (clumsy at times maybe, but regardless it worked) and then misses the mark - maybe it was a budget thing?

Thought the lead guy and his on screen dad were engaging, and I'd be interested to see what the writer/director guy could do with more cash.

Seeing a remake of this with a more developed third act would do me: I've rated it five based on the strength of that and the potential built... whether that means you should watch it I don't know.

Once the story is underway, not a bad film. Recommend you check it out,

Frank (Kevin Interdonato) isn't a bad guy. We don't really know much about him until well into the movie, but we know he has a history of violence, and turned over a new page. But his life is about to spiral out of control again.

When his friend Travis asks Frank to accompany him to a job, it is revealed to be a drug deal. Drug lord Mickey (Tom Sizemore) and Frank have a history, and when the drug deal goes horribly wrong, Frank knows Mickey will come after him and Travis.

Frank is on medication to keep his temper under control, but when he runs out of meds and his wife Gina is kidnapped, Frank is unstoppable. He abducts Mickey's daughter Crystal, setting in motion a cat and mouse game that is bound to have you on the edge of your seat.

'Bad Frank' is a much better quality film than expected, with a few twists as well. I thought Kevin Interdonato was actually quite good as Frank. (Oh, and that manly, muscular, hairy body they so love showing off!!) The film is unpredictable with some good action sequences - and I did not expect that ending! I really enjoyed this movie.

For a low budget movie, I was impressed. Just a few characters and few sets, but well directed. A few twists I didn't expect and a not a usual ending.

Bad Frank, this one starts off slow, however you soon understand the script, you can visualize what is next to happen, shame as the writers could of added more into it.

One area that they goofed up on was the racing scene in the bar, Bonecrusher is a Kiwi racehorse what won the 1986 AJC Derby, why they used an old race call is beyond me, however my ear's opened up, plus woke me up from a slight sleep at this point in time.

From this point on the action of the movie is predictable.

Rating this movie would be in the mid 3's, the story line from start to finish is easy to see where it is heading.
