I watched this movie with high expectations, eager to see where the story would take me. Unfortunately, it lacked clear direction, leaving me underwhelmed. Despite a talented cast, known for their impressive past work, the movie failed to deliver.
The actors and actresses showcased their skills, but even their collective effort couldn't compensate for the narrative's shortcomings. The movie's potential was squandered due to its meandering plot and lack of focus.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this film. With a tighter script and clearer vision, it could have been something special. As it stands, it's a missed opportunity.

I had high hopes for Happiness Is..., but unfortunately, it was a complete waste of a budget. The film felt painfully predictable, especially with the lead actress (Stuurman) once again playing the same repetitive role of being in love, looking for love, or falling out of love. It's like she's stuck in a typecast loop.
The wardrobe was over the top and unnecessary, making it hard to follow whether scenes were taking place on the same day or at different times. It was visually confusing and just too much.
To make matters worse, a lot of scenes felt completely irrelevant to the storyline (if there even was one). I honestly couldn't figure out the plot. The script was terrible, and while a few characters tried to salvage it, the acting was underwhelming. Overall, I'm left feeling disappointed-yet again-by South African productions. They need to up their game.

First off it irks me that they wrote this nonsense to make it seem like it's just perfectly nature and fine, to crash someone's bday and house, then make yourself comfortable while making the celebrant highly uncomfortable and things are just unfolding as they go. The characters did not have much meat to them but at least a couple of them were funny. The main character seems to be made to look weak even while highlighting her achievements to us. Good to see OC Ukeje in there who is a brilliant actor, but somewhat wasted in this role. I just think the storyline could've been better than this all ii all. Movie was ok but average.
