There is no other way to say it, the combat is mediocre . It feels like it's playing itself and the connection between my controller movement and character on screen is just horrible, It feels like there is move assist, so every time I do a attack my character will fly to the other side to hit another person that I didn't intend to.

The combat is just too flashy and too fast.

But I will promise you, the moment you get to the Colosseum and begin playing it, your brain will go blank, you will begin the slow grind just like in gaiden and just enjoy the Colosseum til the end.

But that's also the problem with the gameplay, It's just entertaining enough to keep playing, But when I think about it, it's just nothing, what have I used my time on? It's just not fulfilling.

I think the character and story is fine. It's just like all of the characters I didn't really care about, it was only in the 2 last chapter that the pieces finally got together that it was interesting the story.

I will say that it feels like ichiban has fully taking over the soul of the series. The way that every Yakuza story goes now, About friendship and forgiving people for their actions.

It's just way too formulaic.

It cannot be said any other way, this game is just like a good dessert. It tastes good. It has some nice unique flavor, but it is not fulfilling.

But if you are a fan of mad dog, then go forward you'll have a good time.
