Since I've been finding good Malayalam movies recently, I started looking for another Telugu-dubbed Malayalam film. That's when I came across Mura. What attracted me to it was Suraj Venjaramoodu. I know him from his previous films like Jana Gana Mana and Mukundan Unni Associates, and I really like his subtle acting. He doesn't hesitate to take on any kind of role-whether it's the protagonist, a side character, or even an antagonist-as long as the character has depth and scope for acting. So if he was in Mura, I knew it had to be something special.

And it didn't disappoint. The story feels fresh and revolves around four young friends who get drawn into a local gang. When they get an opportunity to break into a vault loaded with black money, their lives take an unexpected turn. Now, you might be wondering where Suraj fits into all of this, since the story focuses on these four young men. Well, he plays the role of their gang leader. You should watch the film to see how their bond with him forms and what happens after they take on the risky mission of robbing the vault.

This is only the second Malayalam film in recent times I've seen that directly caters to Kerala's youth (the first being Pani). Mura delivers a message about young people who are drawn to violent crime, often out of thrill or fashion, and the consequences they face when they go too far. I think the filmmakers made a smart choice by having a well-known actor like Suraj lead a cast of relatively unknown young actors, ensuring that the movie got enough attention while still feeling fresh.

The director, Muhammad Musthafa, is a well-known Malayalam actor with plenty of acting credits, and Mura marks his second directorial venture. I really liked his direction style-he hooked us right from the intro scene and tied it back nicely in the climax. The four young actors delivered solid performances, with Hridhu Haroon standing out in particular. The movie starts off casually, showing how these young men get caught up in small gang fights, slowly gaining the trust of Suraj's character. Eventually, he gives them the job of retrieving black money from an abandoned factory. As expected, Suraj delivers a great performance with his signature subtle expressions. There's also a strong sister character who is just as powerful as Suraj's role, and she too did a fantastic job.

The second half of the movie transforms into a bloodbath of action-packed drama, leading to a shocking climax. I haven't seen such intense violence in a smaller Malayalam film before, but it felt justified. Of course, there are a few cinematic liberties taken-like when Suraj's sister's son brutally beats up the four young men to the point that they can barely walk, yet just a few hours later, they're back on their feet, attacking with full force. The same happens in the climax. Perhaps, since they're young, they have the resilience to withstand pain and fight back quickly.

The background score and cinematography are well done. As usual, the film is shot in real locations, something I love about Malayalam movies-they rely on natural settings rather than elaborate sets, making the visuals feel authentic.

If you're looking for a fresh and gripping action drama with Suraj's signature subtle performance, Mura is definitely worth watching.

Did"t expect this much.......................................... There is no lag in this movie........................ There are so many new faces, but all the actors were acted very well.............. Especially the 4 key characters... Suraj and Mala parvathy did a well performances to their characters.......... The action scenes are appreciatable....and very intense violence scenes...The songs and background scores are great........ Dop is also great in this movie🔥 The technical side did a great job...... Watch it in theatres for the best experience..... 🔥

A story about the underdogs and emerging goons/gangsters conveyed through a realistic narrative.

The story revolves around 4 closely knitted college dropout boys who aims to join the notorious gangster group of Trivandrum and the menace they come across their journey forms the crux of the story.

Musthafa has kept his bars high by proving his mettle again as a filmmaker and satisfied the viewers expectations by giving a good movie. Strong writing by Suresh Babu keeps the audience engrossed to the screen. The movie portrays raw emotions, bloodshed, violence, revenge,betrayal and true friendship and brotherhood through intricate moments. The storyline reminds of a phrase in the new testament of the Holy Bible from the gospel of Matthew "One who lives by sword shall die by sword".

Brilliant performance by Maala Parvathi in a never before seen avatar added with subtle performance by Suraj and poignant raw performances from Hridhu Haroon. Impressive performances by Jobin Das,Yedhukrishnan,Anujith,Krish Hassan,Vigneshwar Suresh,Kannan Nayar & Thenappan.

Special appreciation to the technicians behind the screen specially the DOP Fazil Nazer & the editor Chaman Chakko for their efforts in culminating an engaging movie.

Mura is definitely a worth watching flick on big screens for an engaging and satisfying experience.

Notes: 1. Hridhu Haroon is truly a promising talent. He has a decent screen presence in the action and emotional scenes.

2. The other boys are also good in their respective roles. However, their bonding could've been written and established more strongly for greater emotional payoffs in the latter half.

3. Christy Joby's music (both songs & score) keeps the goings-on interesting.

4. The second half loses some steam, but the action blocks remain consistently solid. Chaman Chakko assembles them with raw finesse.

5. A cast-against-type Maala Parvathi makes for a worthwhile antagonist.

6. Suraaj easily makes for a believable Trivandrum-based gangster with a formidable past-something Prithviraj struggled with delivering in Kaapa.

7. The climax feels slightly abrupt, though the message (those who live by the sword die by it) is loud and clear.

THE MOVIE WAS AMAZING. The story line a little predictive but the actors and the direction kept me going the entire way till the end. The new faces were amazingly talented. Can't wait to see these talents more. Special mention to Hridhu Haroon. Very promising actor. He's already done his debuts to Bollywood and Tollywood. Would be a major miss for Malayalam industry if they leave this talent out.

Musthafa proved it again with yet another banger after Kappela. The casting was done so accurately. The bond between the four boys were so nice to watch and a nice script that wound everything together. This was indeed a very good watch. I would want to see these faces again. And waiting for the next banger by Musthafa.

I watched this movie with zero expecatation and this one surprised me. Nice movie with a decent story. The movie is also packed -with some good action choreography. Suraj and the actor who played the role of the close aid have performed really well. Suraj once again proves that he is super versatile with whatever roles he gets.

The main highlight is the acting of the lead youngsters. Hridhu Haroon's performance is superb in his role and he has a good talent in acting, the other youngsters have also tried their level best. The portrayal of the camaraderie between the youngsters were well executed by the director.

Expecting more movie from Musthafa, the director in the coming years.

It's a total action film. Still not that good action choreography. It would have been a lot better if the action choreography was a bit better. Still a good watch. Suraj ettan just loved his role. He was pure swag in the film. The film is mainly driven by a friendship between four boys who were doing some activities with the local goons. The protagonists of the film are not good. They were also doing bad activities and the movie hasn't justified there activity as well. As I have already mentioned, the only thing that drives the movie is their friendship. Doesn't have brilliant story line but actors have done a great job. Especially the guys who have potrayed the four friends have done a brilliant work in their debut itself.

Overall it was a decent watch.

Mura was easily a beautiful experience, Holding a strong cast,Good Technicians and a beautiful Sound experience with great sound tracks! In an atmosphere where violence is concluded with glorified endings, Director Musthafa had shown the other side of violence and how worst it can be to actually be in that situation successfully moving my heart to travel through his vision! I really hope more people hit the theatres to watch this beautiful piece of work. It was so surprising to see Christy Joby include a lot of Good sounds to this film.. it was great when he accomidated DnB & classical sounds together! Suraj was easily doing a great job portraying him in a very different level of energy and Also the 4 boys! Hridhu Haroon who had done the Character of Anandhu had a great balance in his acting, He handled all the chaos with the right metre of emotions and it was surprisingly beautiful too see a young boy handle this chaotic act on point 💯

Suraj's acting was as good as the character he portrayed. Suraj is often known for his versatility, and it seems he delivered a commendable performance in this film as well. Maala parvathi ability to connect with the character and deliver a convincing performance likely added significant value to the movie.director had moments of visual brilliance, the overall execution might have lacked consistency.

Certain parts of the film felt dragged out or lacked the necessary pacing to keep the audience engaged.some action sequences to the Korean movie Bedevilled (2010).

I have recommended brutality as blurred sequences.

Four friends Ridhu, Jobin, Anujith, and Yedhru who are involved in petty crimes. These four friends cannot live without each other. They can even give their lives for each other. They do not have much purpose in life. But one day their lives take a turn when they meet their elder brother Ani and leader Ramadevi and agree to rob them. But while they are robbing this money, they face trouble. From which they cannot easily get out.

It is not good to be too greedy. Greed leads to death. The bad consequences of being greedy are presented very well in this movie, for which the director, writer, and all the actors of this movie deserve praise.

Suraj Venjarmudur's performance is truly praiseworthy. His presence has added a new dimension to the movie. The young actors have performed exceptionally. However, some parts of the movie could have been improved. Especially Mala Parvati's character. I think the movie would have been more enjoyable if her past history and how she became Ramadevi had been presented in depth. But we don't know her past.

Those who like friendship movies you should definitely watch it.

I feel this picture has to be featured to all the school kids to understand no shortcut to sucess..... All ways betetr to take advices from the parents....... Its so realiatic in teh end were all the main characters couldnt servive and its no glory out there in the underworld and people do take advantages of the youngf brigades............. As a professional in the movie industry all the departments have taken good effort to make this movie a real sucess....... The Camera department is awsome......... The music director even being a new comer did not show any signs of a beginner same all the main characters who were doing the act for the forst time. Cheers to the entire crew.

Second movie by Muhammed Musthafa ( Director of Kappela) Raw Action movie emotionally connected. Superb performance, Music, BGM, Action Scenes, Hridu, Jobin Das, Yedhu, Anujith starring leading role performed well.

Suraj Venjaramood, Mala Parvathy did very well. Superb theatre experience. Must watch in teatre.

If A Friend Calling To Get Revenge Of Anything From A Man/Woman/Or A Group Who Are Most Powerful Then They, A True Friend Always Come Without Any Question To Help Him To Get Revenge On Them.

A great film in Action Crime Genre related category. A great kudos to the Director and the whole team and specially all the cast signifies their role and played an amazing performance.

Cinematography is really too good as well as Editing and SFX plus the Action scenes is really magnificent.

The story and screenplay is really impressive and hooking up the audience to witness thrills every time.

Its just a superb movie and with good BGM and with very strong dialogues in the film made an amazing one too.

All total the Acting, Direction , story , screenplay , cinematography and Editing along with the SFX makeup is really mind-blowing.

Didn't expect much when I decided to watch Mura. Mostly new faces. And boy what a movie! The entire cast and their acting was so refreshing especially the 4 friends. While initially the 4 lads seemed like a bunch of hooligans, as the movie progresses one can't help but sympathize with them when they were pulled into the viciousness of crime. What they didn't realize was that there is no honour or morals in their chosen line of work. The betrayal of the adults whom they looked upon was simply brutal.

At the end, I was just stunned and saddened with a deep sense of loss. How I wish these 4 young folks had focused on studies, finished college and gotten a job.

Hats off to the makers of this movie! The writing, direction and acting were mind-blowing!

A lot of films come and go unnoticed, and sadly, some only get judged by people scrolling reels in theaters. But Mura is worth every second of your full attention. If you've seen Pani, imagine it but from the villain's perspective-an intense and layered approach that makes it stand out.

The only minor downside for me was that the film could have taken the character bonding to a more intense level, which would have made it even more gripping. That said, Mura still proves to be a promising entry in Mollywood.

I've rarely seen a debut cast come through this strong. The entire ensemble is truly living and breathing their roles, with Hridhu Haroon giving a standout performance-he absolutely owns the screen!
