I got syphilis

This show was so bad I got syphilis.

The doctors were familiar with the type of syphilis when I went in.

Apparently a lot of people are contracting it from watching this show.

It's not the std kind of syphilis.

It's the kind where you get so angry that someone made this show thinking it's funny that you just spontaneously get syphilis.

Don't believe me?

Watch it.

The antibiotic protocol they'll put you on after the first episode will destroy your body's natural immunity for at least three years.

I heard three people in Texas had to start living in a bubble because their immune systems were absolutely toast after the amount of amoxicillin they had pumped directly into their brains.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

The right can't meme

These people have one joke, and everything else might as well be an old man yelling at a cloud.

We get it, y'all think gender identity is silly, get over it already. There isn't any sort of witty humor here, it's just like if your average republican managed to get their hands on a really good AI video generator, and used a laundry list of their thoughts as the script to get THIS.

It's bad enough when they try to use a laugh track on an actual sitcom, but putting a laugh track in an animated show, to force jokes that are already forced and uninspired?

If you like Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro, this was made for you, have fun with your echo-chamber I guess.

There was an attempt at humor

*Spoiler alert* it sucks

General rule of thumb: Jokes should have punchlines or humor...

Went into it expecting a more conservative take on adult animation (more edgy south park I guess) which I was open too, but damn... I really have to wonder if this was written by AI.

Even the creators of this afront to comedy have little to no faith in their own show when they add a laugh track to every bit. GUYS, the laughs should come from the audience, not the budget. Crazy to me that people are giving this show 10 whole stars... humor is subjective but let's be frank here, there is a plethora of better shows to watch, old and new. Personnaly, I'd rather eat a shoe than watch another episode.

Enough said. Formulate your own opinion.

This is funny?

This show did something I didn't think a 4 minute show could do. It took the "I hate transpeople" trope and beat it to death, then kept beating the corpse. Thankfully it told you where the funny parts were by providing a laugh track. The best part of this "comedy" was the shameless sucking up to Elon Musk with a completely pointless and non-plot related silent cameo and the "we love X" lyrics in the end theme.

The best thing that can be said about this is is that is was slightly less painful than root canal surgery and is very much a shorter experience.

If you like edgy comedy go back to South Park, CO. Parker and Stone manage to actually hit the mark and hit everyone pretty well equally.

Cringe dialed up to over 9000

It's obvious what they are trying to do, but these aren't professional comedians or writers so... it doesn't work at all. There is no subtlety or nuance, it's just standard political talking point after talking point. They even had to utilize a laugh track... on an animated show in 2024... because they knew the audience needed to be prompted when to laugh as the material isn't capable of doing that on its own. Shows like these and "comedians" like JP Sears and "intellectuals" like Dave Rubin are why all conservatives are now a laughing stock... even the rational ones are feeling the stain of these maga morons. Soooo many people can't tell that they are being ideologically grifted, they believe anything that shifts responsibility for their problems on to other people. They can't take cultural change so they blame the culture for doing what it always does over time - change. Keep up or sit this one out... just stop pretending it's the world's fault for not agreeing with you and everyone not totally in sync is evil. That's a "you" problem.

Embarrassingly Bad

"The New Norm" is, without a doubt, the absolute worst show ever made. It's a masterclass in how not to create television. The show is completely humorless, lacking any semblance of wit or cleverness. The jokes, if they can be called that, fall flat every time, leading to an overwhelmingly cringey viewing experience. The characters are one-dimensional and wholly unlikable, making it impossible to care about their pointless, meandering storylines. The plot is a mess, devoid of any direction or purpose, leaving viewers wondering why they even bothered to start watching. It's an exercise in frustration, as each episode drags on with no payoff or entertainment value. "The New Norm" is downright unwatchable and should be avoided at all costs. Save your time and watch something-anything-else.

Unreal

It's on YouTube, so go ahead and watch the 3 minute pilot.

It feels like a parody of right wing humor - as in, there's no way conservatives would write something this terrible, and allow it to be released with conservative names attached.

But, no, it's legitimately a conservative attempt at humor, with the same tired jokes they've been saying for decades now.

Also strange that they chose to use All In The Family as its setting, given that show was famously liberal, despite conservative attempts to co-opt him.

So this show is the lowest of low hanging fruit. I'm telling you, if I didn't see the names attached, I'd think it was a small studio making fun of conservatives. But it's not. No way is this becoming a show though, I think the reviews of the pilot are enough to sink it. You KNOW they will say they were too edgy and were canceled.

This is not edgy, it is stale.

For people who think Mr. Birchum is too intellectual

This show may only have a singular, three-minute episode released as of now... but this one was awful. If you thought Mr. Birchum was lousy, then you are in for a real treat.

The show stars some old man who is trapped at home due to "the liberal technology" or whatever... Dude could easily just destroy the device that locks him at his house.

The humor is also dull, to the point where they added a laugh track (I get the Flintstones had one, but the 60s were a different time...).

If you want to watch a good cartoon with a heroic Republican protagonist, just watch King of the Hill instead. Hank Hill would run circles around this old Grandpa.

"Humour"

If you have any family or friends that have fallen for MAGA, then you have heard these "jokes" ad nauseum already. They were written by someone with the emotional maturity of a teenager that has discovered Ayn Rand or Jordan Peterson, whose comedic and political education is limited to memes. Puts on full display the incredibly inaccurate facts that MAGA holds to support their beliefs.

South Park has challenged similar themes, and they at least have some originality. That this got Apartheid Ford's stamp of approval also shows that his level of sophistication is that of a McDonald's happy meal.

Hilarious, but not for the reasons the writers intended

Conservatives calling this show a masterpiece because they so desperately want a "gotcha" moment against liberals is far more hilarious than anything the writers could have intentionally come up with. Spoiler alert, nobody is triggered or butt-hurt by this ham-fisted attempt at comedy, as the marketing smugly claims.

The conservatives obsession with "owning the libs" has made them lose sight of one important thing, that a good comedy needs only one ingredient; comedy. Sadly, The New Norm lacks this one essential element and would be better off calling itself The New Velma.

I know this show's goal was to to be offensive and trigger the left, but they couldn't even get that right lmao.

Too bad the supreme court overturned Roe, this show should've been aborted

I'll admit, I stole the title from the Youtube comments lol. Adult cartoons are my favorite programing genre so I had very high hopes but this show is just awful... The audience that this show was made for are either dead or they'll have to call their grandchildren to show them how to access it.

Stop comparing the show to south park! South Park is funny. This show is trying to be so edgy but fails at every turn.

Here are some other adjectives I would use to describe this show: Terrible, awful, dreadful, bad, frightening, horrendous, horrific, atrocious, abominable, painful, unspeakable, severe, wicked,

A Wasteland.

This show, is a complete wasteland. The writing, the animation, the voice acting and well, everything else are just absolutely dire. It's not fresh, it brings no ideas in any sense to the table at all. It's all just overused, overbaked. It's just kind of pathetic, that they put this out the way they did.

I've been asked if this angered me, or upset me. No. I'm saddened by this, I'm ashamed for the people who did artwork for this. I'm sad for whatever writers they had for this, that they thought this was something worthwhile to present to the masses.

It wants to be a new All in the Family, but doesn't understand All in the Family.

Sub-par production values at best.

What can anyone say about this atrocity of the Internet. The audio engineering is beyond amateurish and takes you out of the piece before it's barely begun. The voice work was absolutely terrible.

The animation's okay but this is CRINGEY and STEALS concept points from 'All in the Family' & dishonors it with 6th-grade level humor. The humour (all based on conservative talking points) is not even funny on the one level it presents itself.

I make this assessment as someone with over 40 yrs in production, from scriptwriting, voice-over (yes, in animation), audio engineer, photography, and videographer.

Pass on this disaster. It is a shallow, humourless political shots that would be found entertaining only by the most poorly educated. There is better political animation out there.

The lack of stars comes from "The New Norm" being a very bad production and has nothing to do with political leanings.

Do you need the best example of how to not do things?

I mean, what can you say that's positive? The lip sync is acceptable. The art isn't the worst I've seen.

It feels like the homage to All In The Family was all they had going, and then every joke that follows is classic conservative non-comedy: I don't like this thing, so here it is. Get it?

And you'd expect the jokes from JP Sears and Dave Rubin to not be funny - they're two of the objectively worst comedians the US has ever produced. That get paid for it, I suppose some open mic types have been worse.

If it were meant to be Tim Heidecker style anti-comedy, it might work, but this is another case of some rich conservative desperate to get their own brand of media out there, hiring the dregs they had available, and it's not meant to succeed, it's meant to exist. Like all of the Daily Wire's recent media blitz.

Possibly the worst thing I've ever seen

I once videotaped myself defecating in a glass bowl full of flour, then played it in reverse while listening to Hitler speeches, and it was funnier than this.

My great uncle was in 'nam and when I showed him this he said he'd rather go back to watching for Charlie in the trees.

After being in the same room as this show for a few minutes, my hamsters sprouted opposable thumbs and fashioned tiny nooses before hanging themselves.

When I was just a boy, and both my parents were murdered in front of me by a priapic clown who forced me to sing 'I've Got a Brand New Combine Harvester' throughout at gunpoint, and that was more fun.

Not very good, really.

Is this non-content (non-tent)?

The New Norm feels like it was made to deliberately fail in its attempts at conservative humour and trying to prove that its anti-humour barely has any semblance of genuine funny to it whatsoever.

Just think about this: someone made this and thought it was a good idea to knowingly put this 'show' on Twitter/X as a 'first-ever' type deal. Too bad that 'first-ever' deal shows that Twitter doesn't have a hope in hell of hosting decent content it can proudly call its own.

The New Norm is an animation insult given life to appease a weirdly specific demographic as intellectual junk food and to serve a a superficial 'gotcha' to liberals (supposedly).

Who was this crap made for? Surely not anyone with half a brain cell and creative integrity... but someone made it, so clearly someone believed in this idea.

The New Norm ain't a respectable norm by ANY means of television production. It's like a fake tv-show-in-Grand-Theft-Auto written by AI and acted out by jaded McDonalds servers who hate lifting their fingers.

This show is a genuine miracle of awful. Officially it gets 1/10 IMDbs, but it certainly deserves an official 0/10. It may as well get 0/5 stars here.

The laugh track never hits a "joke"

You don't need a laugh track in sitcoms since the 90's, they are as outdated as the "values" the creators of The New Norm deside to force into their audiences. Also, just randomly placing such laughs over every moment, even when nothing (forget something funny since there's no fun in this series) is happening is so bizarre. There's no jokes, no humor, no soul. Only sucking at Elon Musk. Disgusting. Also the "episode" is more short than your traditional youtube animation. I would hardly call this a sitcom, maybe a short sketch? (if it was funny) perhaps the most apt name for it would be propaganda.

Boring, lazy, poorly written, deeply unfunny

I can honestly say this is one of the worst things I've ever watched, I will never get the minutes I spent engaging with this back.

This cartoon is about two things:

  • Bashing trans people for existing
  • promoting Elon Musk and X (Twitter)

If you've never felt the loving touch of someone who cares about you or perhaps you spend your days inhaling whole bottles of glue then maybe, just maybe this is the cartoon for you.

However if you are capable of empathy, have friends, and still have a relationship with your children, then this show is best avoided.

I'm angry that we live in a world where this can get made whilst so many talented people's work will never see the light of day.

An honest review

Please do not subject yourself, others, children, animals, microbes, living room furniture, or any item living, dead or not alive to this show. This show was made to be offensive to all of your senses. Not in the "I'm offended by this joke" way either. More like watching two of your loved ones have sex with a dead animal and shortly afterward proudly embrace before you and present it to you as if there was a redeeming quality in the display that had just been put on, as if it were an avant garde experience you're just not smart enough to understand. This show truly is an exemplary reason why people look at shows, review them, draft them, rewrite, then shoot and air. This show legitimately may be the worst thing to ever come out of animation. I include all Rule 34 content in that statement. Yes, all of it. If you have some heinous example that you think I should see and reference before I make this statement, just know that I truly think this show is worse. This show should be erased from the human experience, and those who watched it should be not only paid for the time they will never get back, but the intellectual suffering that occurred. This show lacks a redeeming quality and should be displayed as bottom of the human experience. We can only go up from here. God I pray that we can only go up from here.

It was supposed to make people laugh, did the opposite

When i was scrolling on twitter i found this some 3 minute animation saying New south park, I was interested in it so i decided to watch it,

After watching, i didn't LIKE, also it doe not deserve to get another episode or get approved by some tv show.

Yes there no setup no punchline and yes im sorry that a good writing doe not equal a good show but Gonna say this "Worst show i ever watched".

(In my opinion)

The new norm show had some offensive jokes but that is okay either south park doe that all the time or it look like a adultshow, High guardian spice is better than this show for the least

It was 2/10 becuase this show WASTED 3 minutes of my life and there still better adult shows to watch.
