The manga is mostly good with a slight fall off towards the end in my opinion but still a good read. The anime had the potential to be good but they decided to skip the first arc which provides a lot of lore and character introductions. The manga has a lot of content which wouldn't be suitable for a 16+ rating so I can understand the censorship which some are complaining about but it isn't that bad. Currently the anime is getting bashed for poor animation which i don't think is fair since the animation isn't that bad and is probably just people upset that it isn't like jjk animation. This is unrelated to the quality of the anime but I also think IMDb should do something about the pony canyon summary of the anime on there site which is incorrect and should not be trusted over the prime video description.

This show came recommended on Prime, so after watching Dororo (great show) I thought I'd give this one a chance.

The story is quite good. A clear revenge driven plot, but with some subtleties and nuance. Nothing extraordinary, but good enough to keep you watching.

Some people seem to have problems with the animation style. I did not find anything wrong with it.

The pacing in some episodes was kinda wonky, but a lot of shows seem to have this.

My biggest turn-off were the complete lack of depth for just about every character except for Koinzell. Most disappointing was Peepi. She basicaly just cried every episode. Apart from her constant squeaking (very annoying) she brought nothing to the story.

I watched this in english with english subtitles. The lines spoken were almost never a match with those subtitles. This triggered me quite a few times. Probably should've sticked with japanese and english subs.

So in summary: good story with 1 great character (main), most others are rather forgettable with little to no backstory. Animation-style is personal and didn't bother me. If you intend to watch this, do it in japanese.

Amazon prime recommended it to watch, so I decided to give it a go. But it's utterly boring. And I'm not listening to their recommendations anymore.

How do you recognize bad scripting? All characters add a name of person they are speaking to, in each sentence. Each sentence! This is extremely annoying. They may know each other for weeks, or even years and yet, they speak to themselves like to absolute weirdos.

The amount of "Schtemwölech!" makes me wanna puke.

Non existent fights have zero to no action at all. Simple, poor static animations with bursts of blood. No interesting plot whatsoever, nothing good to be found there.

Main character is absolutely unlikable, that shroud of mystery that they wanted to build at the beggining - they didn't.

Boooooring!

The almost non existent fights has zero action, pretty much like old animes where the image is static but they make blood moving or some light/wind effect. 90% of the time is just constant taking our screaming/evil laugh, but for that you need a good plot, basically lacking it.

Of course, when fighting skills lacks the way to beat your opponent in animes is just to be more powerful, plain simple, stronger and/or faster

Boring characters, as usual on cheap animes you get near xxx content, but it's worse on a medieval environment ( girls with armor and thong is a pathetic combination )

I was happy to see a new anime premiere that I hadn't heard of and to my surprise, this one delivers.

This dark fantasy has very intriguing premise and setting. Plus it's brutal! No one is safe. If the style and violence isn't your thing then the story and characters will grab you. Each character reveals more and more of their past and it makes the story that much more engaging.

Give it two episodes and I'm sure you will be hooked. This is no simple power fantasy for boys but really a story of revenge and family.

Each episode it pulls back it's layers and gets closer to a delicious center. Koinzell, the young swordsman's journey is a treat as each episode expands this epic fantasy world.

Overall this is a hot show to get on the train before it fully takes off. Whether you're a causal anime fan or die hard, I think it has plenty for both.

A stylish, violent, tense and dark story about revenge.

Really cool animation.

What I don't understand is the rating of this show: The show has an IMDB rating of 5,6 (date: 15.02.2025), but each episode has a rating of Episode 1 - 7,2 Episode 2 - 7,7 Episode 3 - 7,7 Episode 4 - 7,8 Episode 5 - 8,1

makes an average rating of 7,7 (date: 15.02.2025).

Where does this 5,6 for the show come from, while the episodes average is 7,7?

Makes no sense.

My advise: Check the ratings of each episode, don't believe this overall rating for this show. The season is not even finished, it's three episodes to go till the season finale.
