Blondie: Glass Heart

Blondie were a kick-ass brilliant band with some great songs that managed to straddle punk and pop. Debbie Harry was a brilliant lead singer, an absolute bombshell with style and attitude.

This paltry attempt at capturing the band though has neither style nor attitude. The narration, both script and voiceover sounds like it's been generated by AI. It is also ridden with mistakes, at one point talking about the cbg club (hello! Cbgb's?). There are also mistakes by the single talking head "cultural expert" who tells us wrongly that Blondie had a single called "Dennis", the single was called "Denis" and the pronunciation is that of a French girls name, not some bloke called "Dennis". This is totally embarrassing!

It's also embarrassing to see the attempts to shoe horn in the ubiquitous LGBTIQ agenda. Give it a rest, Blondie were a great punk/pop band who massively influenced the culture, music, fashion, feminism, style, etc, that's more than enough for a decent documentary.

This though feels like the "cultural expert" had $500 spare and wanted to do a documentary on Blondie because she wanted to be the lead singer but didn't actually know very much about the band or what they represented.
