Discovering Love

This is a mystery, but I couldn't get into it.

It was boring in parts although the scenery was nice.

I didn't care for the male lead and the female lead, though more familiar, has a strange look like she's frowning all the time. It's her eyebrows, I think.

They're searching for mythical treasures of ancient Greece, which no one has discovered in thousands of years. But they do!

The funniest part is the slow motion sequence when they are on their way to the treasure.

It has been compared to a modern day Indiana Jones, but that's a big stretch. A B movie with B actors.

The few who rated it liked it, apparently. It's different, but not worth the watch IMO.

Over halfway through and not sure I'm going to get through. It's very slow and Liliana Tandon as Skyler needs to find a real smile. She always looks grumpy or has that I'm better than you looks. Tim Rogan as Eric is a wonderful mix of fun and seriousness. He's a good actor, and quite easy on the eyes with a great personality to boot.

The secondary plot between Cheri Oteri's, Iris and Louis Mandylor as Zander was wonderfully nuanced. And I'm enjoying their cute little romance much more than whatever is happening between the main characters.

Not sure where exactly this was filmed but it was beautiful and makes me want to visit Greece.

If you've got nothing better to do and this is on it's not the worse. I won't waste my time again.

I do not know how this has a 7.1 ⭐ rating. I would give it 4.5⭐

It's fairly cheesy writing in pats and acting goes from barely ok to ok.

Bfoster-33680 has a pretty spot on review and I agree with most of it: "Liliana Tandon as Skyler needs to find a real smile. She always looks grumpy or has that I'm better than you looks." I think when they were dancing, she does look what she has a genuine smile. She does frequently have, what I interpret as a condescending look; ironically even in her picture on IMDb. I thought maybe it's because that's how the script's written but poking around on IMDb SHE IS THE WRITER so maybe it's a bit of a natural look. I tend to be a serious person and can often have a bit of a scowl on my face.

Maybe I'm overthinking it.

In some parts of the movie she seems ok and it could be that she's just inexperienced as an actor and over acting. I did feel that given she's the lead she seemed to be the least capable.

One of the scenes that I found frustrating was, about halfway in, when they went to look at the treasure box Eric Duncan found, the museum the curator pulled it out of a desk drawer. The box was authenticated to around a thousand years old with the gold coin and it's kept in a desk drawer. I don't think so!

I don't expect a whole lot out of most movies like this. You can't shove Everything into 90 min... movie but this was a glaring issue for me.
