VIRGO is a horror film that fails on every level. Despite a slow build-up, it takes almost an hour before the film even tries to be scary - and when it does, it falls flat. Instead of creating excitement or horror, the film offers only boredom. There isn't even the unintentional humor that some other failed horror films can offer here; VIRGO is simply a drawn out and boring waste of time.

The direction is amateurish and it is noticeable that this is the director's first feature film. The film suffers from a low-budget feel that permeates the entire production, from the lousy sound mix to the uninteresting script. The characters are thin and predictable, and the dialogue feels disengaging and contrived. Even the most basic elements of filmmaking don't seem to have received the attention they require.

Wilma G. Sand, who plays the film's antagonist Ava, delivers a performance that hardly impresses. Her acting is stiff and unnatural, and she fails to give her character either credibility or depth. With such a weak performance in a supporting role, the film completely loses its potential to engage. This performance significantly lowers the quality of the film.

The only positive is that the film is at least occasionally visually pleasing - but that is not enough to save this predictable and bland production by a long way.

VIRGO is simply not worth watching. Even if the movie were to be released for free, it would still be a waste of time to watch. For anyone looking for horror, thrills, or even basic entertainment, VIRGO is simply a colossal failure.
