Great series

Overall a really solid series so far, the writing, acting and plot are really well paced and are incredibly well done. Would recommend for all kamen rider fans and will always praise the beginning of this series.

Shouma is a really good twist on a character trope and I really like how the story isn't afraid to just tell you the plot and lore of this world.

The mystery and drama of the story comes from the dynamics of the characters and intrigue of the characters own personal motives and actions.

The villains on the surface seem really simple, but human to me and I hope that as a family they get explored properly.

Written as of ep 7.

Just the average Kamen Rider

First of all, I don't like the Motif of this season. Willy Wonka style fantasy candy doesn't go with a Superhero monster hunter motif. Also the acting and pacing of this seasons sucks. Also the special effects and gimmicks are so silly and cringe. The characters are also generic and the upgrades to the protagonist are stupid. Also the villain are generic and pretty much the same as all the other Kamen Rider seasons and they have a trio of women villains that look just like the Kamen Rider Gotchard villains. Overall this is not a good Reiwa season, Gotchard, Geats and Zero-One are way better. I don't recommend this series.

Just Above Average Rider Season

Most people review seasons based on designs, acting or choreography, whether that be a lack of media literacy and the inability to efficiently analyse a piece of media for it's story content and story content alone, or for the fact that they do not care for the story and would much rather nitpick on the areas they care about, in the end, there is not a single review discussing the genuine story content of the season.

Gavv is-for lack of better words-mid. It is not well written by a long shot. Not to say it's bad, it isn't bad, but it isn't as great as people say. Firstly, the pacing is not well done. Initially, I had high hopes for this series, the first episode set up a great amount of plot that could have been resolved throughout the series, worldbuilding to be done, and I was so intrigued I watched it multiple times over, trying to extract as much knowledge as I could from it. There was an air of mystery, who were the Granutes, what exactly was the Stomach Company, how did the doors they utilised work, why was Shoma escaping, how come he could transform, etc. So many questions, but not in an overwhelming amount.

For the most part, these questions were answered, but not well. We know who the Granutes are, Shoma's family, but what else? What is their society like? There are similar issues in Donbrothers, but even still they go further into depth. They often mentioned the Don Clan, the Juuto, and the Noto, all inhabiting this cybernetic world, and while I wish there was more content describing their society in the aforementioned cybernetic world, they still described the dynamic and history without showing, and that was adequate. We barely get any information on the Stomach family outside of a few flashbacks, and near the end they ceased doing so.

This feeds into "What exactly is the Stomach Company?" Nothing. They're literally just a monopolous company who could easily be seized by the government. Wait, the government? Where did they come from? Nowhere! Because we know nothing about the Granute world! I was under the assumption that this monopoly ruled the world, they clearly had control over every Granute we saw, and since we got nothing else on them, the view is left to assume all work for the company. The lack of worldbuilding hurts.

Next, the doors. While yes, they explained it briefly, they made it such a spectacle in the first episode, something I hoped would be utilised more often, but instead we got a short explanation from Shoma and Rakia to Hanto, and that was that. Such an interesting concept shoved under the rug.

They do this so often, delegating things that could be extremely important to a short explanation, or cutting off important instances to a measly two episodes. This show rushed everything, the pacing is awful, but people are still praising this series because it is engaging, despite lacking depth. This could stem from the fact that the season prior, Gotchard, had significantly worse pacing, but that shouldn't blind viewers into accepting a rushed and underutilised show.

Do not misunderstand, I am enjoying the season, but like every Rider season, young fans or fans with a lack of media literacy go on posting or talking about "the next Build," or "the best Rider season ever." These are the same people who fail to see or understand the depth of other fantastic seasons like Gaim, Ex-Aid, or Geats, just saying they're "overrated garbage."
