It was one of the best stand ups I've ever watched!!!
I don't enjoy female comedy to be honest but Nikki been improved so much and she is living her best life and well deserved!
Relatable, funny, critical and at the same time great delivery! Well done!

Her performance on the Brady roast was good .... for a roast. But her new special is on the other end of the spectrum. She rambles on about kids forever. Beats her perspective to death without getting a real laugh. I mean, her laugh track does work fairly well.
If you are looking at witty comedy look elsewhere. It's just bashing-style comedy and facial gestures in order to solicit a laugh. I mean, it will work with the "I need comedy right in front of my face" crowd, but with people who are looking for wit and timing you will not find it here.
I honestly thought she would have progressed at this point, but she's going after the obvious observations. Maybe try her next one, but I'll save you the time I'll never get back ...skip.

I think I've been waiting for this comedy special my whole life.
Nikki spends an hour proving she's a free thinker, and she does it in a damn funny way. She doesn't just follow what everyone else on this planet does in their status quo pursuit of happiness.
This isn't just comedy, it's a call to action. There are so many issues that go under the radar-obsession with the nuclear family, dignity in death, how we treat non-humans so differently from humans... I hope people can laugh with Nikki, and then think critically about how we should implement the societal changes she's proposing.
I've watched the special twice already (once by myself, again with my boyfriend) and we laughed the whole way through.

Without giving away a ton, the title is meant to be optimistic. Got to appreciate comedians/comediennes and people in general who look for taboos, and some of those who knowingly tweak them.
For a while, I tried to figure out if the lighting for her stage backdrop was color coding the trigger warning sections of her set.
My wife watches awards shows, and she will watch the upcoming Golden Globes which Nikki will host. I'm pretty sure that will be filtered down to only show side Globes and lower Globe jokes....and she will probably do a decent attack-dog imitation a la Ricky Gervais.
For this set, the death stuff to me is kind of funny, but I'm not her mother. And Nikki at 39, going on 27 may still go through a mental change along with the physical change in a few decades. If not, there's a clip from this that will be aired a lot.
The anti-breeder stuff, I totally get but I am curious if in real life she feels the full-court press on not having kids. I know so many women without kids and if they are fending off attacks on that choice, I need to be edu-ma-cated. Or edu-pa-cated or sum thang.
Anyways, I laughed probably more than my wife, but she got through this fine. Although I think in contrast it raised her opinion of the Nate Bargatze special we watched on New Years. My wife, and myself honestly, do prefer more observational and/or humor on us zany humans/Americans/etc in general.
Glaser definitely has a self-centered mirror mirror on the wall, with a hope to appall. But definitely thought-provoking some of the time, the whole mmmmm-mmmm-mom bit.
Bottom line even by today's standards, it's pretty crude in spots. So if your standards were set in the last millennium, please do not watch this. Or mention Nikki to your priest, imam or rabbi. Hmmm, perhaps Nikki could use all three in her porn-related set.
Anyways, like an old Star Trek monster, be careful with this, your repulsion only makes her stronger ;>

First of all, while this is extreme, explicit content which usually it turns me off, I was way more blown away by the what almost 2 hour monologue flawlessly delivered, with so much energy, by Nikki. Turning despair into joy and laughter, the laughter literally gave me a workout!! I was invigorated, my gut got a half hr at the gym, and so did my spirit.
It is unmistakable that Nikki is a superstar on every level. So beautiful to look at, but sort of a disarming beauty, such a smart and fun person. The kind of show that's perfect to watch for fully developed humans/adults. Remarkable performance by an actress/comedian you can tell could do anything. I recommend this very highly if you can stomach the dirt, which is really just the reality we all live, so live a little and go watch Someday You'll Die! ;p.
