Vidyapati - or Vidya's 'pati' aka husband is a tale of Siddu, a sly opportunist who manages to woo Vidya, a superstar actress, and marries her to live an exorbitant life with zero efforts. An unlikely confrontation with Jaggu when he insults Vidya puts Siddu in a tough spot to either beat the goon and make him apologize to her or "get out" of her house!

A puny-yet-cowardly Siddu has no choice but to resort to his childhood friend Kumara, and later his own family that he had long abandoned. Will Siddu reunite with Vidya? Does he manage to beat Jaggu? How does his family receive him after years? Watch it yourself to experience the fun.

The first thing that appeals to the audience are the impressive performances of the lead actors and the supporting cast. The dialogues are witty and the comic timing hits the right spot. The music by Dossmode and Vasuki Vaibhav carry the emotions well. The action sequences are well choreographed and a special cameo by 'Daali' Dhananjay, clubbed with an introductory fight scene is a treat for action lovers. Directors Esham Khan and Haseen Khan in their second cinematic venture but their first theatrical release have handled this comedy-emotional-action flick with grace and their evolution is apparent from their previous movie 'Ikkat' which was a lockdown-based comedy. The duo have also helmed the editing and writing departments, creating an entertaining product that appeals to all age groups, especially families and kids who want to watch a clean comedy entertainer. Technically, Vidyapati looks slick with some impressive frames captured by the DOP Lavith and a fine production design.

The Kannada audience have always loved a good film and Vidyapati is one that will remain in the hearts of those who watch it for a long time to come. Watch it and you won't regret it!

There are no grand hero entrances or dramatic punches; instead, we get stumbles, silences, and a hero who is refreshingly uncool. Nagabhushana N S brings vulnerability and humor to Siddu, making him lovable even in his absurdity. Malaika T Vasupal, playing his wife, radiates quiet strength and dignity, becoming the film's emotional anchor without ever being reduced to a trope.

Garuda Ram's exaggerated villainy adds comic heft, contrasting Siddu's underdog position. Meanwhile, the direction by Esham and Haseen Khan is sharp and observant, with cinematography that emphasizes the protagonist's internal struggle through tight framing and stylized visuals. The background score cleverly shifts between tension and whimsy, echoing the emotional rollercoaster of the story.

Verdict: Vidyapati is bold, satirical, and emotionally grounded-a film that laughs at its hero with love. It's perfect for those who enjoy satire, social commentary, and offbeat dramas with heart.

I don't know who rated this movie so low. But if you actual reviews all are 10/10. One of the most underrated movie of Indian cinema. I hope this movie will get the recognition it deserves. Perfect direction and screenplay. And incredible acting from the lead actors. It felt like I'm waiting Chandi chowk to chaina movie. It's fine people start accepting movies like this.

Even though the story of the movie is pretty simple. Execution is top- notch. There are lot of goosebumps moments. Hats off to director for coming up with a unique story life. I think the first kungfu movie of Kannada cinema.
