Will start off by saying this movie tried to totally capture the 80's vibe, unfortunately that's where the rest fails.
Was it clichéd? Yes! From storyline, etc. But is anything original anymore,so you can almost overlook that issue.
No spoilers, regarding the killings: Was anyone shocked on who's responsible & why? It wasn't an oh my gosh thing, even with the ending twists unfortunately.
The cinematography although do get it was a whole nostalgic feel of that era, just came off instead as poor lighting & film quality.
Majority of actors chosen to their acting was ok,but nothing that you will remember once credits roll.
Music decisions was good, but again it was carrying that 80's theme.
The horror element during specific scenes came off cheap, almost what you'd expect by amateurs or film students.. Unless that was the point? Trying to be like 80's horror.
If they were going for that campy to B-Rated style,it wasn't accomplished even by those standards-Was like Hallmark,AMC or SyFy tried a collaborative project & failed.
Not something will rewatch again, but a popcorn flick to pass your time once.

I almost never leave reviews, but I had to leave one this time. This movie was not good. I loved the original fear Street movies (especially 1978) and I love campy slasher movies. So in light of this I was looking forward to this next fear street installment but I was left severely disappointed The story line lacked any depth, suspense, or even surprise. There was no build up no creepy someones watching me or unexplained sound in the dark of night and the whole thing was rushed 10 minutes into the movie their reference a plot device meant to explain main characters social status I think everyone in it did a great job with the script they were given but ultimately Netflix missed the mark by MILES !!!!
I've watched all the fear street trilogy and that had better kills and better characters and better villains... this was super rushed and the kills were so boring and the trailer gave away who the killer was so this was disappointing! Could have made it more darker and bloody and put more time in this movie and made it more like prom night (1980) this was not scary at all and nothing was interesting. My favorite character was Megan because she was an interesting character but everyone else was just trash. It was rushed and there should have been a plot twist because the trailer showed to much of the scenes and should have teased us more.
Anyone who's old and wise enough to be drawn in by the 1980s nostalgia will be disappointed by the flat, insipid story. Teenagers will probably be put off by the cardboard characters, the cartoonish depictions of high school social pressures and the lame antagonist reveal. The movie's too violent and profane for young kids. So who is it for? Apparently nobody.
The bummer is that it could've been a fun, campy throwback. But that would've required a stronger story, sharper dialogue, better-realized characters and generally more effort than what was evidently put into the production. A synthesizer soundtrack and neon credits alone do not make for a worthwhile '80s slasher homage.

Honestly, I really liked the previous Fear Street movies. This one however is truly dreadful in every conceivable way. The characters are just so dull, from the mean girl prom queen, who let's be honest would struggle to be described as a plain Jane. To the supposed heroine of the story, who is completely nondescript.
The dialogue is wooden, the kills are boring, there is no genuine fear or tension throughout the whole movie. The soundtrack tries to capture the essence of 80s slasher movies but actually ends up being irritating.
The killers outfit is dreadful, it doesn't induce fear just makes them look like an idiot. I'm not even sure why I'm giving this movie a 4.

- CuriosidadesWhen Megan Rogers is smoking in the bathroom, the graffiti on the wall to the left reads "Sarah Fier lives." Sarah Fier is the original witch from 1666 whose death caused the curse on Shadyside.
- Erros de gravaçãoThe film is set during Prom 88 and this is usually around May. The song The Look by Roxette wasn't released as a single until 1989, it was taken from the album Look Sharp that was released in October 1988.
