Doors: Mr. Mojo Risin' - The Story of L.A. Woman

A documentary film about one of the best albums of all time L. A. WOMAN by The Doors, a must watch if you're a fan of the doors or a fan of great music in general.

A companion piece to the "40th Anniversary Edition" of "L. A. Woman", "Mr. Mojo Risin': The Story of L. A. Woman" is a stellar rockumentary on The Doors' final album with Jim Morrison. Kicking off with the band's troubles brought on by lead singer Morrison's groundbreaking confrontational performances the band found themselves unable to continue their tour of the U. S. as they were banned throughout the country with Morrison facing the possibility of spending time behind bars after being brought to trial after the band's notorious 1969 concert in Miami. Out of work the wearied and harrassed quartet did what they did best: make music. Recording in their rehearsal room in Los Angeles the group recruited session musicians and furthered their work on the Blues sound they brought to the fore with their previous album "Morrison Hotel". The result is perhaps their most accomplished album and one of the all-time Rock classics. Interviews with the band and their musical associates and others give a personal and musical scope in the creation of a masterpiece. Each of the songs are discussed with the band members playing parts of the songs and recording engineer and producer Bruce Botnick providing highlights of the tracks behind the mixing board highlighting the quality of the music in a compelling way. Images and footage of the band and the time place everything in historical and musical importance and perspective. One of the best musical documentaries this is one any Doors and Rock fan would not want to miss.

A very good documentary of Jim Morrison and The Doors.

It's not a bad doc, however there is a significant amount of useless filler. Ray is the best of the film.

Never was all that into The Doors, but this is not a horrible flick over all
