I've enjoyed Soroush Sehhat's previous works, but Breakfast with Giraffes was by far the worst. It lacked a coherent storyline, and while the director claimed the movie was about forgiveness, the execution completely missed the mark-if anything, it conveyed the opposite message.
Marketed as a comedy, it was actually a dark drama, and even the occasional comedic moments were predictable, outdated, and at times nonsensical. The title itself felt entirely irrelevant to the film.
To top it off, despite paying for a VIP ticket, Soroush and his team (including Bahram Radan) didn't even stay after the screening for a photo with the audience. Overall, a disappointing experience in every way.

Unfortunately this movie was another disappointment for Persian pop entertainment
Very poor copy of th "hung over", and this is not because of limitations in Iran, but lack of proficiency of the writers.
With a positive approach, they had a good concept of localizing the original movie, but the whole scenario was inconsistent and full of lags and disconnects Very slow pace, with stories and characters that are not well defined and developed.
They made some incidents and some good jokes, but it was not well used.
Acting was poor, performances disappointing trying to portray a nihilistic middle age middle class male.
Iranian movie industry had great masters such as Mehrjooyee, Taghvayee and Beizayee but it's sad to see that this skills were not passed to younger generations, and this is only part that can be blamed on the administration for not creating a platform for it.

Not often do people like such movies,However, the movie is an insane fantasy for the fans! Sehat,as the writer and the director, has made a new vibe with his favorite philosophical topics, which are common in most of his works(at least, since Lisanseh ha),such as Friendship,Life and death. The lack of story, isnt the weakness of the film, but a powerful point, wich splits Sehat from the others. Compared to his previous shows and movies, the music isnt the starring anymore, but still used geniusly,in the interludes, its rare, and in the Iranian movies it was considerd impossible, but Sehat took courage and, like everything he used for the first time, he named it after himself, these interludes let him make the scenes as surreal as he wanted. Characters are too careless, imagine your friend is died, and you are still looking for a little more drug !The director's favorite exploration of concepts occurs in dialogues and situations. In addition to the logical cause-and-effect relationship that also determines the ending, the film, like real life, surprises you at every moment!.putting Revelers and carefree people against the life and death, creates an unforgettable experience. And the ending is cinematicly perfect, and visually stunning...But it still leaves questions unanswered..to conclude,as I told before,an insane fantasy,am unforgetable surreal experience,With a clever balance between tragedy and comedy. Its for the people who just want to laugh, and the people who dont want to just laugh. And to quote the character of the doctor played by Hadi Hejazifar, the film will give you a dark night!

"Breakfast with Giraffes" is an absolute gem of a film, weaving a storyline that is as special as it is pleasant. The movie eschews loud drama for a quieter, more profound narrative that explores connection and finding beauty in the most unexpected of places. The central premise is wonderfully unique and executed with a gentle, heartwarming touch that leaves you with a lasting sense of joy and contentment. It's a truly delightful cinematic experience that feels like a warm hug, carried by a plot that is both simple in its charm and deep in its emotional resonance.
This is the kind of film that truly benefits from a second viewing. The first watch sweeps you away with its charming story and beautiful visuals, but watching it again allows you to appreciate the subtle nuances in the performances and the deeper layers of its uplifting message. There are so many small, beautiful moments and quiet details you might miss the first time around. "Breakfast with Giraffes" is a rare treat that not only entertains but also enriches the spirit, making it a definite must-see, and then a must-see-again.

The film isn't a crowd-pleaser, and chances are, if you haven't connected with or appreciated Soroush Sehat's world before, you probably won't enjoy this movie either. But since this is my website, and you're likely here to hear my opinion, I have to say-I didn't like it.
The overall vibe of Breakfast with Giraffes is light and quirky, and the story stems from a concern the director clearly cares about, which is valuable in itself. However, in trying to express that concern, I feel the film loses its way. Honestly, if I hadn't seen the last ten seconds of the movie, I would've said Breakfast with Giraffes was a really bad film. (As it stands, I'll just say it was a bad one.)
Leaving aside the weak storyline and lack of proper character development, I will admit that elements like the soundtrack, cinematography, and humor are above the current standards of Iranian cinema. That's actually what convinced me to add Soroush Sehat's previous film, Dance with Me, to my watchlist.
So yeah-I didn't enjoy this film, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'd give it a 4.5 out of 10.
P. S. What's up with this hilarious sleazeball version of Bijan Banafshekhah? :)
