Syncope

It's one of those pieces that you don't regret watching but wouldn't watch again.

I liked the ideas, the performance itself, the "twist" (even though it's an understandable one.)

What ruined the film for me (or rather, spoiled) was the feeling of artificiality. The director feels completely out of place: he is too young and because of that does not project the supposed atmosphere of cold severity, gravitas. Moreover, the character in fact looks like a caricature: the mannerisms, the style, the way he talks. To me it looks like a child playing dress up.

Some moments are unpleasantly theatrical.

A modern dance show. Its prepaires. Exhausted repetitions . And the ambition of cold , mercifull Mr. Schanzenbach, using his dancers almost as tools for his ambitious project.

Hard work and the dinner who seems , at the first sight, expression of gratitude. But its meaning is darker , a sort of cliche from action movies is used for push to perfection the artists and what seems, in the first part, a police interogatory represents expression of other sort of predator.

Admirable performances of Lea Corner and Linus von Stumberg , intense emotions and cold realism.

Difficult ( and unfair) to write too much except, just see it !
