Amy playing the same character she always does...

Disappointing

Watched it because I needed a laugh and like Amy Schumer but she does always play the same roles. It had a good storyline but tried to force laughs from swearing and crassness. Typical American girly comedy to make teenage girls giggle.

It did have potential but instead of making you feel good it got more and more pathetic. Urzila Carlson a New Zealand actress was thrown in much like Rebel Wilson is in all her American comedies to try to make it funny because of the accent. But again there was no reason for such exaggeration. Films are not a maths equation and if you put the same numbers you will get it right.

Horrible & waste of time

This movie is an absolute disaster from start to finish. The lead actress delivers one of the worst performances I've ever seen-flat, lifeless, and completely unconvincing. It felt like she was reading lines off a teleprompter with zero emotion. The script is uninspired, the pacing is painfully slow, and the dialogue is so awkward it's almost laughable. I lost interest within the first 10 minutes, and it only got worse from there. The plot goes nowhere, the supporting cast is forgettable, and the entire production feels low-effort. There's no suspense, no engaging moments, and absolutely no reason to sit through this train wreck. If you value your time, do yourself a favor and skip this mess-trust me, you're not missing anything except boredom and frustration.

A Depressing Movie for Depressing Times

Watching this movie one gets the impression that its characters mirror the way that Netflix views its subscriber base: a sad, slovenly, segment of Americans who aren't enjoying much about their lives, spouses, kids, jobs, friends or anything else. It's an unhappy movie for unhappy people, and it's very unlikely that jokes about female facial hair, bodily fluids, and pregnancy gross-out humor is going to cheer them up.

It's hard to even imagine why a writer would sit down to write something like this, or why an actor would sign on - other than to receive a paycheck. And that's the saddest part of all. The people who made this movie and the executives who green-lit it will all return to their homes in the Hollywood Hills, while the average Netflix subscriber will slink off to bed feeling a little more depressed and jaded than they did before. It's not what anyone needs in today's world. Netflix doesn't care about entertainment, they've admitted that. They make second-screen content to play in the background while you scroll your phone. And that's exactly what this is.

Unbelievably bad

Avoid this movie, it is so bad in every way. Both the storyline, the acting, the characters, the producion are just very poor. Together this is a disaster of a movie that will leave you wishing you could get the time you spent watching it back. Everything in it is so stereotypical, and you'd thought we would have come further than this in 2025. If you are looking for a comedy in this category to put a smile on your face, this is not it! We all need something in our lives that will cheer us up in this world of turmoil, and this movie will do the opposite. If I could give it a zero vote I would.

Another dumb American comedy

I kind of liked Amy Schumer, but I've only seen her in one movie before. The main character here is inconsistent and no one would put up with her, even if real life was a bad comedy. And why do all the jokes have to be so stupid? The premise is good and could have been a good foundation for a really great comedy... If only the jokes hadn't been so ridiculous and desperate. Some scenes are ok, or rather they start ok and then fall apart. It's inconsistent and not very smart and of course there is some sort of twirking in slow motion. I hope it ends well for the character. I don't know cause I stopped watching at 50.45 after yet another failed try to make me laugh.

Funny Light, what I needed

I don't understand the bad comments! The movie is funny , cute, light movie . Finally a romantic Comedy and not a romantic boring kitch , this comedy reminds me movies from the early 2000, Amy is funny!! The movie made me laugh while I felt a bit down, There isn't many comedies on Netflix I love and I came with low ecxpectations and it kinda surprised me, nothing new in this movie but that is for me the good part, I just wanted a good laugh, I don't love so much other movies of Amy but for me this is the funniest one, don't read other reviews and give it a try to get your own opinion, a 8 for me!

Give it a shot

The negative reviews aren't warranted. It's not attempting to be an Oscar winner so calling Schumer's acting into question, in my opinion, speaks more about the person offering the critcism than Schumer herself, she's a comedienne, she It's a Happy Madison production, and delivers as such. It's a silly funny, the kind of movie you can just sit down and watch without having to think too much. It's meant to entertain, I feel like it accomplished just that with the added bonus of some real giggles. I found it to be exactly as promised and honestly found it's unique storyline to be a departure from every other movie about pregnant women. Give it a shot, keep an open mind, LET yourself laugh instead of looking for what's wrong with it. As my art teacher used to say to us when we'd say we could do better than the piece we were looking at in our art textbooks, "so why don't you?"

Not a very good move

This movie is not very good. I don't recommend watching it and losing your precious time.

It feels soulless, boring, predictable and surprisingly unpleasant.

It feels like they made it in a hurry just to make it not to make it good.

The Georgia actress saves it a little, also the guy who the main character falls in love with but they both can't save the whole movie where you're mainly watching Amy and her one layered acting.

Definitely not good enough for me, but hey to each their own, right?

To me personally a good enough movie is a movie that I stumble upon when scrolling through tv channels and stop to watch it. This one Id skip for sure.

I laughed out loud

I rarely watch comedies unless they have Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler or anyone from SNL. This is a raunchy Adam Sandler movie starring Amy Schumer. If none of this sounds funny to you then it's not a movie for you. Personally I like Amy Schumer but not enough to watch her shows. A movie I can do and this was funny. Both my husband and I laughed out loud throughout. It's cheesy and hard to watch at times and predictable but it's that kind of movie. Loved Will Forte. Not family friendly in the least. I love Amy Schumer's brand of humor so maybe I'm bias but I feel like so many bad comedies are getting much higher ratings, I needed to leave a rating. If this has anyone one but hee it'd probably do better.

Plenty of laughs

I would say that if you understand you are watching a ridiculous comedy that is not meant to take itself seriously, let alone to be taken seriously by the viewers...then you're going to love this movie. Is it believable? No! Is it amazingly original? Of course not. Has it basically been done before? Totally. But honestly, it's still pretty hilarious. If you liked Baby Mama and you love Amy Schumer like I do, then ignore all the haters. All of the actors were likable and funny. I laughed out loud several times, and I would very likely enjoy this movie again if I'm looking for a late night laugh.

Couldn't even watch it until the end

What an absolutely horrendous waste of time this was. The movie is full of plot holes, it's way too predictable, cliché, the acting is really bad and unconvincing, the jokes are unfunny, there is no character development, and Amy Schumer just plays the same self-deprecating and unapologetically honest character she always does. Nothing new there. Just skip this overhyped, far too long movie and spend your time doing something more worthwhile. I recommend taking a nice, relaxing hike in nature instead.

I'm rather shocked to see the positive reviews of this though. Were you all watching the same movie as I was?

Terrible movie, a complete waste of time

This movie was an absolute disaster from start to finish-a complete and utter waste of time. Amy Schumer, once again, proved to be a painfully bad actor, delivering a performance that was flat, unconvincing, and devoid of any charm. It's baffling how she consistently manages to drag down every project she's involved in. The characters were so poorly developed that they felt like cardboard cutouts, lacking even a hint of depth or personality. There was no emotional connection or investment in their stories, making it impossible to care about what happened to them.

The humor, if you can even call it that, was cringe-worthy and fell completely flat. Jokes were either painfully unfunny or recycled from better comedies, leaving me more annoyed than entertained. The writing was lazy and uninspired, with a plot that meandered aimlessly and failed to deliver any meaningful or engaging moments. The pacing was off, the dialogue was awkward, and the overall execution felt amateurish.

In short, this movie was a trainwreck on every level. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and if I could give it a negative rating, I would. A solid 0/10-avoid at all costs.

Not Worth Watching

"Kinda Pregnant" tries to be a funny and lighthearted movie, but it just doesn't work. The story is very predictable, so you always know what's going to happen next. There are no surprises, and everything feels like something you've seen before.

The jokes aren't funny at all. Most of them feel forced, and instead of making you laugh, they just make you cringe. It's like the movie is trying too hard to be funny, but it completely misses the mark.

The main actress makes it even worse. Her acting is way too over-the-top, and instead of being fun to watch, she's just annoying. It's hard to sit through the movie because her performance is so exaggerated.

Overall, Kinda Pregnant is not a movie worth watching. It's predictable, not funny, and the acting is just too much. There are way better comedies out there.

So fake..

I didn't hate it but wasn't great or anything original, another story about someone faking a pregnancy. Yawn!

Seen Labor Pains years back, that covered this topic in a more silly way.

It's(kind of)relatable if you currently are, been or wish you were pregnant or are a twisted faker.

The jokes & so forth was cringe-worthy to even clichéd,however there was a few laughable moments.. Could even say plotholes due to how things went all due to a pregnancy lie, still a horrible message that deception pays off & so forth.

Feel they chose over-the-top actors, that actually think they are funny or good.. Acting was mediocre & cinematography decent.

A weekend popcorn flick if bored, yet not worth seeing again.

old school laugh out loud light

Watching this is like eating comfort. All the one stars are confusing like a depressed bot got in here. We laughed out loud many times, and yes, it wraps with a bow but not everything was predictable. Great assembly of comedians who can act, including a South African actor we'd never seen before. It actually educates people about real psychological issues around pregnancy without being too cringey. Amy Schumer delivers consistently silly fun stuff like Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell but probably doesn't get the respect she deserves, because she isn't a man. Will it get an Oscar? No. Old school laugh out loud light.

Good enough comedy for a pleasant movie night.

I didn't pay too much attention to the poor ratings Kinda Pregnant gets as I know not everybody likes Amy Schumer and as we all have different senses of humour I was confident I would enjoy this lighthearted comedy anyway. Amy Schumer, Will Forte and Jillian Bell are all comedians that made me laugh in the past and they did it again. The funniest character wasn't played by any of them though, but by Urzila Carlson whom had me giggle more than once. Amongst things I don't like in real life are pregnant women and babies, so to be able to make me laugh about things I dislike is already an achievement. But I get it that not everybody finds it funny, too bad for them I would say.

The entire movie is a big cringe

DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE! The entire film is a cringefest with no script, the attempt at humor falls so flat that there is not a single laughable moment in the entire film. Even the talented cast is unable to rescue this disastrous script and screenplay. The entire movie revolves around a main character that feels left behind in life and fakes a pregnancy to get attention. The problem is that she's such a nasty person that the audience has no empathy for her and instead ends up hating her.

In short, if you've got 90 minutes of your life that you just need something playing in the background, go on Netflix and find something else to play because this movie isn't worth even playing in the background.

Don't listen to the others

I don't know why these other reviews are so bad. In the barrage of ridiculous streaming movies with A-list stars this is a bright spot. It's funny, light hearted and has several laugh out loud moments. There have been several recent movies on Netflix that I have watched and thought "how do these get made? Don't people tell these stars it's horrible?" Amy Schumer does a good job here. Will she win an Oscar? No, she won't. Will it take your mind off of the BS known as reality, yes. There are also several other actors in this that make it worth while. Sit back, have a drink and enjoy - it's worth it!

Really funny

Usually comedies these days might get a chuckle out of me but usually I don't even find them funny. This movie for what it is, a light hearted comedy, had three parts where I laughed out loud w tears. I think some of the other reviews are somewhat harsh. They said there were several movies where the woman pretends to be pregnant? This is the first movie I've seen w this premise. It might be easier for women especially ones that have been pregnant to connect to this movie. I also thought some of the humor was more clever than most movies of its type. And the love interest, Josh was adorable! All in all I thought it had a lot of heart and was cute and funny.

painful watch

WHAT A SNOOZEFEST! I have now tried to get through this movie twice! Idk if it's Amy Schumer who I find terribly unfunny or just the story here but it was so boring and I didn't even laugh once. I mean I find it crazy as it's produced by Adam Sandler I thought Maybe it would be good. I found Amy funny in snatched a few years back but the rest of her work for me personally, has just been one dumpster fire after another. I really liked Brianna Howey from Ginny and Georgia so I wanted to see this bc of her too but it just didn't do it for me. I mean you're gonna read the reviews and watch it irregardless, just know it's really a waste of time and it's so bad 😭

Disgustingly bad. I couldn't make it past 20 minutes

Sometimes you can already tell from the trailer that a movie is really awful but I still naively hoped for the best. This was so cringe-bad that I could NOT make it past 20 minutes. I very much wanted to bail at 12 minutes but the plot had not even made it to the main premise yet so I forced myself to give it another few minutes. Not one second was worth having struggled onwards. The acting and the script and the characters are SO DREADFUL. None of the "jokes" land. It's rare that I can't find ANYTHING good about a movie or that I don't stick with something even if it isn't great. I liked Trainwreck and I enjoy a lot of Amy Schumer's standup but this is not that! I've been pregnant. I've had kids. That didn't help me connect with this stupid movie. 20 minutes was too long to waste on this. Even doing my taxes is more enjoyable. This is the Schumer movie that should have been called "Trainwreck!"
