The movie was selected to be included in NASA first's mission to return to the moon since 1972 and to plant a time capsule on the moon in 2024. Over 144,000 artifacts from the movie including images, all frames, thousands of behind the scenes photos, versions of the entire movie, and the screenplay are inscribed on metallic lunar plates and digital archives being stored on the moon in a special "museum" digital archive estimated to last over 1 billion years. Launches on SpaceX Falcon 9 in January, 2024 ("Lunaprise" Mission).
