Halfway

A really short, sweet, and simple film with a very relatable premise (because I too have had an instance of having to meet someone at Juhu beach for the Mumbai Pride Games, but spending time in trying to meet each other as we both entered from the two different entrances of the beach. Only thing in my instance, it wasn't a love interest or an old flame, but a friend who I was meeting.)

The direction and writing by Kumar Chheda really shines as feeling very organic and authentic. Kumar also plays one of the protagonists in the film. And I loved Kayan Dadyburjor's acting as the other protagonist - very natural and believable, in keeping with the writing as well.

And I was really happy that I got the chance to tell Kayan this in person, because I caught the Halfway screening at Kashish - South East Asia's biggest queer film festival, held annually in Mumbai for 15 years now!
