In a valiant attempt to condense a thrilling adventure, "Global Pursuit" unfortunately loses its footing due to hurried storytelling and a questionable sound design approach.
From the very first frame, "Global Pursuit" aspires to captivate with its high-speed narrative. However, the breakneck tempo at which the story unfolds hampers the audience's connection with characters and understanding of their motives. Subplots surface fleetingly, lacking the depth required for a coherent and satisfying storyline.
The film's pacing predicament is exacerbated by its fragmented sound design. While sound is pivotal for immersion, here it morphs into a distracting hurdle. Essential dialogues are often muffled by an inundation of sound effects, leaving vital conversations inaudible. This auditory imbalance significantly impairs the viewer's engagement with the unfolding sequences.
The creators of "Global Pursuit" unmistakably possessed a vision, yet its realization falls disappointingly short. The brief runtime limits the potential for a fully-fledged and immersive narrative. Though glimpses of excitement emerge, they are overshadowed by the pervasive sensation of being briskly shuttled through the story.
In summation, "Global Pursuit" accentuates the significance of allowing a story to breathe, even within a constrained timeframe. With more measured pacing and refined sound design, this film could have delivered a more gratifying experience. Presently, it's a missed chance that leaves both dedicated fans and casual viewers yearning for a more polished and immersive escapade in future cinematic endeavors.

Seeing so many social media celebrities trying to become actors has always been frustrating to me. Real actors spent years, if not decades trying to pursue their career. The fact that Kai Cenat, a mildy entertaining influencer, has the funding and fame to become an actor annoys me. I will be honest that his acting wasn't that bad, then again, he was playing as himself.
The other frustrating thing about this film overall is the very weak sound design being used. I understand the film was shot in 3 days and the feat is not easy, but it was never informed how long post production was. I would assume it would be longer than that, so how come the audio of the characters sound so off balance when one speaks and the other speaks (like they are recorded by two different microphones). That's because they didn't put that much time into the sound design, providing a lackluster balance in the audio.
As stated before, apparently anyone can be an actor nowadays. Kai Cenat was not bad, Ray was terrible, but what irritated more than them both was that Courtney Chen, an actual actress, played her roles badly and her dialogue was awful. I am sure it is not her fault but the pre production team probably just dicked around with the script and made it bad. The dialogue between all characters were not funny but instead really cringe. It tries to stay relevant with Gen Z humor, which is horrible on film and movies. An example would be the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle animation, it was great but sometimes many of the Gen Z humor was very awkward. In this instance, it tries too hard, tries to copy too much of Rush Hour.
Rush Hour is just a masterpiece because of it's originality. I understand that this is heavily inspired by Rush Hour but please choose originality for your next film. Kai Cenat can be entertaining for viewers and everyone also enjoys seeing Ray on the screen, but something original and funny would help everyone appreciate more. There will be many fans that love this short film and consider it the best of all time (probably because it's the only short film they ever seen), but many people in the industry or just movie lovers don't enjoy that. We want to see something original, something special that would shine through. A parody of the original legendary series just because you're famous is not special, it is instead horrible.
This film was only worthy of 3 out of 10 because of the film crew that work on this did a stellar job in filming, especially in 3 days. The only thing I wish they sway away from more is the overusage of anamorphic lens, or just using that in general. Anamorphic lens are better off for artistic films, like Moonlight, but for comedies I believe a regular spherical lens is better.

I'm an Ebert, and I know exactly how films work. Global Pursuit was the best thing to happen to me and my marriage.
This film pays such great homage to the 'Rush Hour' series, and depicts Kai and Ray's iconic relationship. Up among the ranks of greatest duos of all time is Rick and Morty, Kanye West and germany, pigs and bacon, you have Kai Cenat and Ray. Kai Cenat met Ray in a vlog in Japan in something I dont really know.. But lets focus on the important part- , my marraige. This film saved my marriage, which is why it is the greatest thing. Man no way I spent 10 minutes of my life writing this review. Life has been pretty tough. I recently got laid off working for a kid 10 years younger than me. The nerve on this kid. Well instead of applying to jobs im writing this review. With all that being said.... GLobal pursuit was pretty funny Normally i'd give it like a 4 at best but im feeling generous tonight.

Film work, and I have to say, Global Pursuit makes me want to pursue other activities.
The film tries to emulate the iconic 'Rush Hour' series but ends up delivering less chemistry than a high school dropout in a science lab. Kai Cenat, popular as an internet personality, takes on a role as one of the buddy cops. While he shines online, his acting chops don't quite cut it here. It's like putting ketchup on a chocolate cake - you know both elements are good on their own, but something's just not mixing.
The plot tries to take you on a wild ride but feels more like a slow crawl in peak hour traffic. Instead of making me grip my seat in anticipation, it had me gripping my head in confusion. You know your sting operation's got issues when the audience starts rooting for the bad guys just so the movie can end sooner.
And let's talk about the jokes in this film. You know how they say a joke is like a frog, and if you dissect it, it dies? Well, the jokes in Global Pursuit were already DOA, so I guess the script dissected itself.
To wrap this up, Global Pursuit felt like a half-hour chase scene where everyone was running in circles. While I love a good buddy cop film, this one just didn't arrest my attention.

Global Pursuit is not meant to be the perfect movie. It doesn't aim for a 10/10 rating. It's just a fun movie that hopes to get a laugh out of you. The acting is alright. It's not terrible but it's not perfect. The best actor was literally Kai Cenat in my opinion. He played his role very well and you can see that he truly aimed to act like how Chris Tucker did in Rush Hour and it shows. Ray did pretty well for his first time acting, and was better than most of the actors. Everyone else was alright and not amazing. The action scenes were probably the worst part of the movie. But it was still interesting to watch. (The cameo was also hilarious) Overall, Global Pursuit is a great spin-off of the original "Rush Hour". I am truly proud of what Kai, Ray, and the production team managed to pull off in this short amount of time. Bravo.
