The Scottish castle at the center of the movie is actually in Ireland.
Despite being set in Scotland and the majority of the filming taking place in Scotland, the whiskey distillery scenes were actually filmed in Kilbeggan Distillery, which is located in Ireland. Kilbeggan is incidentally the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland.
During the party at Salinger's, Mac introduces Lindsay, portrayed by Lacey Chabert, to his brother in-law Thomas, portrayed by Will Kemp. Lindsay makes a comment that he looks familiar and asks if they've met before. She also tells him that in terms of dancing, she only knows how to waltz and tango. These comments are nods to Chabert and Kemp's previous pairings as leads in Hallmark movies, the dancing references to Valsa de Natal (2020) (waltz) and The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango (2023) (tango). They also star together in Amor, Romance e Chocolate (2019). At one point, Thomas stops Lindsay and says, "not here," another tongue-in-cheek nod to their previous performances together.
During the party scene, the flautist is playing a left-handed flute, which is very rare.
Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf play siblings on O Quinteto (1994). The pub in this movie is named Salinger's, Chabert and Wolf's characters' surname on the television show. The bartender in this movie also introduces himself as Charlie, the name of Claudia and Bailey Salinger's older brother.
