Nothing but Ajith with no screenplay or other moments

Good things first and the only good thing about this movie is its story .. a decent storyline which has a good meat for AJITH as an actor ...but the entire storyline is completely spoiled by an atrocious screenplay with rehashes of past Ajith movies, too loud unnecessary BGMs and irritating non related old hit songs for every character in the movie... Screenplay is a total mess like typical Adhik movie (remember AAA Simbu movie...Adhik is back...) making the movie a very tedious and irritating watch.. over hyped in the name of fan boy and not expected Ajith in such a movie of self proclamation hype from first to end scene... Irritating bullet firings from all directions with absolutely no logic... Villain Arjun Das has as usual given his best but looks a big misfit... As usual Jackie Shroff and few other villains too come and go in blink and miss with tantrums of Ajith.... In fact we would have never seen Ajith in self tantrums in any of his previous films like this....but in every scene becomes too irritating.... The movie is nothing but some bits and pieces of scenes with nonlogical connection into a decent storyline... Simran in few scenes irrelevant but looks gorgeous ..... Prasanna in a insignificant role.... Strictly only if you want to watch Ajith in all scenes in slow motion hype...

Ajith is OG,But the film was far away from the word "SAMBAVAM"

So unexpectedly got to watch 'Good Bad Ugly' In Theaters Starring Ajith Kumar in lead, written and directed by Adhik Ravichandran. So overall my experience of watching ajith was fun but overall experience with film was seriously underwhelming. This Ajith's one man show basically sums up with multiple title cards, irrelevant placement of old song's,bad technicalities, weird character setups, heavy loads of elevation and usage of the word AK that just doesn't land perfectly.

So going in Detail i want to divide into two halfs, the first half from the first second itself the film starts up setting the characters of protagonist and the remaining cast, and none of the proceedings feel effective but still manages to hook us partially through some random fight sequences. Then comes the Interval block which was really good and entertaining, but till that the it was middling experience. After a fine interval expected a good second half.

But the film again proceeds in the same random way where the characters and their motives feels nothing. The second half pile up some good laughs and whistle worthy moments. Some decision's took during this half although doesn't make sense but they were fun to watch. But the climax was just a overcooked mess, which ends in a most basic way possible.

Coming to the performances,The biggest and only reason to watch this is definitely Ajith kumar. He delivers a powerhouse performance which seriously justifies the overall euphoria created. His performance completely made the film watchable. Remaining performances and their writings was just half baked. Trisha was decent. Arjun das tries but the whole writing of his character was underwhelming. And remaining cast was just there, and some were just there because of ajith because their work is to elevate ajith in every situation possible.

Coming to the technical aspects,i was really concerned regarding this and successfully adhik didn't disappoint me in this thing a whole. The budget was just kept for the showcase of artificial production values. Weird as F costumes which just seem so bizarre and irritating. Collides with a camerawork of random takes and shakes in every angle possible, and without hesitation i can state this that more than the proceedings of story the camera moved. And ofcourse coming to the music of Gv Prakash Kumar,it was just basic and i never thought i'll used this term with him but it goes loud sometimes. The few seconds of anirudh's 'aaluma doluma' in climax brought more vibe than the whole score of gv in the film.

And coming to the writer and director adhik ravichandran, see i didn't really except anything from him or movie. But he really succeeds in few moments bringing out some really entertaining sequences, but overall the treatment he served in the name of fan service was felt partially here and there due to random choices, underwhelming character writings. And and if you think simran in kill bill costume is a surprise cameo,Adhik blends the cinematic liberty with AI or animation whatever which makes your jaw drop which may work with few but seriously you are not prepared for that.

Overall ajith delivers every second and frame who definitely standout more than a backbone, this film may offer a fan service or celebration that ofcourse works with the fans of the star and also may end up as a decent film for some, but for me the film was neither good nor ugly but felt MID.

Adhik's AK

The story's got a few bits that'll tickle your fancy, nothing mind-blowing, but not a total dog's breakfast either. The narration's proper lively - classic Adhik Ravichandran stuff - flashy, loud, and full of beans.

The screenplay tries to throw in a few curveballs - some land with a bang, others just fizzle. The first half? Quite the cracker. Second half? Bit of a snooze-fest, if we're honest. The climax saves it from going completely pear-shaped. Ajith's die-hard fans will be chuffed, no doubt, but for the average punter, it's just a middling watch.

Ajith's smashing in a role that fits him like a glove. Trisha's looking like a right stunner and puts in a tidy performance. The rest of the gang do the job, no faff, no fuss.

The background score's got some kick in a few scenes, not too shabby. Cinematography and production design? Decent enough - nothing to write home about, but not half bad.

All in all, give it a go this weekend if you fancy a bit of popcorn and telly - just don't rock up with sky-high hopes.

Peak Brainrot

This movie is equivalent to watching 60 instagram reels. More brainrot than reels.

From the beginning, the unwanted over hype to the character spoiled the movie to the core. And he just walks, talks. Does absolutely nothing, over hype overkill. Every character was ill developed, no character had good acting. Even Ajith Trisha acted insanely bad and worst in their career. Every actor had only one line of character and they stuck to it. Peakest BS was the son character.

"Movie for the fans" - please do not make stupidity a thing for fans. We fans like good acting from our favourite heroes, good script selection from our favourite heroes and overall good cinema from our favourite heroes. Mass is not everything. And... this kinda mass is not worth looking at.

Waste of time and energy

One of the worst movie, I have ever seen in my life. There is no story at all. Only Ajith sir presence makes film to watch. Unnecessary elevation shots and irrelevant references and songs with movie. Only fans can watch this movie, just to shout and let their throat get damage. Nothing will connect with general audience and family. If you want to shout with your friends, you can watch this 2 and half hours, insta reel. Such a worst direction done by Adhik ravichandran, he fools the fan and audience by adding retro songs and old movie references. If we continue to encourage these kind of movies, our kollywood would never make a best PAN indian movie like other industries. My sincere request to directors that is to focus on story and content. Don't focus on the hero's fanbase. Try to make some quality films.

Two dimensional review -Thinnest story in Ajith films ever - But Fans feast

I have two dimensional review- if as most of Ta mil people I consider from Fan Angle - This is really giving them whatever they expected. No logic, no story, but just heroic dialogues and hero boost side characters, and spinoffs of all his old movies. This goes as connector between start of Ajith to current Thala stature. No romance scenes, no hug, no expressive love is a plus or minus of this film, only you need to judge. Just perfect hand and leg movements in dances without exerting so much - that hero image is kept in tact. So no wonder 10 out of 10 is given from his fans. But if a general audience sees this - his stature goes down so steep - No story - Nothing new - Even songs are old songs that too sung as they were. Not a single scene looked like anew - All looking spinoffs, What would a Rajni Fan think - our star is far better in story selection - What would Kamala fan think, even at this age Kamala exerts himself, not just gives up. What would younger hero fans think - Our star has taken over - it is time.

Ajith's Charisma Can't Save a Flawed Second Half

"Good Bad Ugly" (2025) delivers a high-octane first half that serves as a thrilling tribute to Ajith Kumar's star power, but the film's second half stumbles, ultimately falling short of its initial promise. While Ajith is terrific and the film caters to his fanbase, its narrative inconsistencies and forced elements detract from the overall experience.

Ajith Kumar is undoubtedly the film's biggest strength. He commands the screen with his charisma and delivers a performance that will undoubtedly thrill his fans. The first half is fast-paced and energetic, showcasing Ajith's action prowess and screen presence in a way that feels like a well-crafted tribute to his filmography.

However, the film's narrative begins to unravel in the second half. The plot becomes convoluted and lacks the focus of the first half. Forced elements and contrived situations are introduced, disrupting the flow of the story and making it feel less organic. The pacing becomes uneven, and the film struggles to maintain the same level of excitement and engagement.

While the film offers plenty of fan service, catering to Ajith's established image, it comes at the expense of a well-rounded and compelling narrative. The supporting characters, while competent, are often underdeveloped and their motivations remain unclear.

The film's technical aspects are generally adequate, with decent cinematography and a fitting soundtrack. However, these elements cannot fully compensate for the film's narrative shortcomings.

Overall, "Good Bad Ugly" (2025) is a mixed bag. Ajith Kumar's terrific performance and the fast-paced first half are undeniable strengths. However, the film's messy and forced second half prevents it from being a truly satisfying cinematic experience.

It's a 'Parody' Movie

That's it. It all makes sense now. The references, the memes, the fourth wall breaks, the almost comedic other franchise references.

I saw someone call it a spin-off. No, it's a spoof. It's like "You want a 'AK' movie?! Here you go".

The only reason this works is BECAUSE of the complete lack of sincerity in storytelling. It's almost genius. When pitted against other movies that lack logic, the only reason or excuse that this movie can uphold to come out on top is the fact that it never made a promise to deliver.

Now for why it works, it has everything a fan can want in an AK movie - The constant glazing, the reformed 'gangster' storyline, the family sentiment. The whole 'Good from outside, Bad on inside, Ugly when you touch his family' is what this all was.

AK-47

In Hollywood its called Naked Gun in India its Called AK-47.

Naked Gun-Hit AK-47- No Ammo Have a huge respect for Ajith Kumar, but he should consider that the audience time and money is priceless.

To the director-Please do not consider Ajit fans as Idiots.

The world has not gone mad but few individuals have gone really mad.

There is a respect for Indian Cinema.

To Ajith: With great power comes great responsibility.

I hope Ajith understands this in the future.

Overall this movies is just a media presenation from a school going kid.

But in todays generation even the kids are higly intellectual. Period.

Absolute fan boy tribute

"Good Bad Ugly" is a simple story about a gangster trying to save his son. The movie stars Ajith Kumar, Trisha, and Arjun Das, with music by G. V. Prakash.

I was really happy to watch an Ajith Kumar movie after a long time, especially with such a loud and excited crowd in the theatre. His character, the way he acted in every mass scene, his screen presence, style, and especially his deep voice were all amazing.

Arjun Das plays the villain in this movie. He may not be a scary villain, but he did a good job and played his role neatly.

One of the best things about the movie is the screenplay, especially from the interval to the climax. It was full of fun. The story is very simple, but the director made it engaging and fast-paced. There were many references throughout the movie, but they didn't feel forced. Everything was placed naturally into the story.

It's clear that the director is a big fan of Ajith Kumar. He made this movie as a tribute to him, and it really shows in the different looks and scenes he created for Ajith. All of them suited him well.

Now, talking about the negatives again, it's the screenplay. There were a lot of references, which I personally enjoyed. The whole theatre was cheering and shouting for every scene. But I'm not sure how well the general audience will connect with all of that. The movie only became really interesting at the interval. Before that, I couldn't fully get into it. If the writer had thought more about general viewers while writing, the movie could have been even better.

Also, they used a lot of retro songs in the movie. At first, it felt fresh, but after a while, it felt tired.

Still, I liked the movie a lot especially from the interval to the end. As a fan, I really enjoyed the experience in the theatre with the crowd. I've never watched or celebrated an Ajith Kumar film like this before.

Thanks to the director for making such a fun movie. He really knows how to entertain the audience in theatres. If he focuses more on his writing in the future, he can make even better films.

You can definitely watch this film with your family.

One of the worst movies I've watched in my life

I was sitting in the theatre holding my head flabbergasted, unable to believe I was watching something like that. One of the worst movies I've watched in my entire life. Adhik na's Mark Antony was mind blowing good and the humor was marvellous and also I love Ajith sir's movie, but this one has disappointed me for life. There is nothing in the story of the movie other than reference. Poor editing, story and stunts, gave me a headache. Everything else - Choreography, performances were extremely good. Films that captivate people are good films, but the thing that this film has captivated a lot of people has me worrying.

Return of the RED DRAGON (AK)

Leaving apart the logical scenes in fighting, it's a complete action entertainer from Ajith Kumar sir.

Bringing all good memories of his old films. Adhik is a pure fanboy who used the full potential of the actor. Arjun Das nailed his role. GVP's songs were ok, but the BGM was too good. Trisha's back-to-back blockbusters continue after Vidaamuyarchi. Prasanna did his job well. There were several scenes that made the whole audience laugh. GBU is well packed with everything an action entertainer needs.

And here comes the Red Dragon. Ajith fans have wanted one thing from him for the past 10 years, and it is his look. Purely superb and terrific visuals of Ajith sir throughout the movie carried the weight.

Ridiculous and Dumb

This is gonna be short review, as nothing worth a praise can be said about this brainless action movie. Even for Ajith Fans, they should devoid themselves from watching a underwhelming action movie with no story or charisma whatsoever.

The movie seems like a slideshow of Ajith beating the hell out of villains with over the top action and making his fans happy on the cost of baseless product that runs for 135 minutes.

Totally a skippable movie and a big disappointment. I wish I could get my valuable 2 hours back. There are lots of other good movies, be it action or amy other genre, watch them again instead of this.

My Rating : 3/10.

Mass, Style and Fun

Vintage AK is back with a brand-new style, and he's absolutely on fire! This family-oriented gangster entertainer brings together everything fans love-action, emotion, and a whole lot of fun. From high-octane fight scenes to foot-tapping music, every element hits the mark. The director has done a fantastic job blending nostalgia with freshness, cleverly using references from Ajith's iconic old films while giving it a modern twist. It's a complete package you can enjoy with your family-mass moments, stylish swag, and heartfelt emotions all rolled into one! AjithKumar is back to track. Good Bless You Maamee.

The Boss of gang films is back

Once again Ajith Kumar makes this film watchable and ajith once again plays the role as a gangster. If you are looking for a action pack thriller movie that this is the film you should watch. If you like his gangster film Billa then please go and watch this film. Arjun Das who acts as the bad guy really was good, he also made this film watchable.

This film is way better than his early film " VidaaMuyarchi". I still say that Valimai is his best film in recent years.

He also looks very good in this film and I the film picks up near the first half and follows right to the end. Very fast film from my point of view.

A full fanboy sambavam with nothing else

To be very honest, this movie will be liked by all ajith fans(i hope) because from the start till the end it was full of fanboy moments. But the same fanboy moments are the ones that tests your patience. It's too much that you feel you want it to end already. GVP BGM was a shocker for me! What a BGM! Impressive work by him. Ajith as usual killing his role. Arjun Das was okay, and the other roles were below average. Nothing much. Cameo by Simran resembled Jailer. Overall as a cinephile, the movie is a massive disappointment. But as a ajith fan, i feel it's okay and nothing more than that. Looks like we fans still have to wait for a proper AK comeback 😭

Blockbuster

From the moment the screen ignites with the blazing title Good Bad Ugly, you know you're in for a cinematic explosion that only Thala Ajith can deliver. This isn't just a movie-it's a tsunami of mass, a rollercoaster of masala, and a testament to why Ajith Kumar reigns supreme as Tamil cinema's undisputed king. Directed by the audacious Adhik Ravichandran, this film is a pulsating love letter to fans, a dazzling spectacle that blends action, comedy, and emotion into a concoction so potent it'll leave you cheering, laughing, and gasping in equal measure.

The "Good" in Good Bad Ugly is Ajith himself-his screen presence is a force of nature, a volcano of charisma erupting with every frame. From the opening sequence, where he strides in with that signature salt-and-pepper swagger, delivering punchlines that hit harder than a freight train, you're hooked. His intro scene-rumored to feature a bike stunt that defies gravity-sets the theater ablaze with whistles and roars. Ajith doesn't just play the fearless don; he embodies him, weaving a tale of a man torn between a peaceful life and a past that refuses to let go. The references to his iconic roles in Vaali, Dheena, and Billa are pure fan-service gold, each nod a spark that ignites nostalgia and euphoria.

The "Bad"? Oh, it's bad in the best way possible-a cavalcade of villains so deliciously over-the-top you can't help but root for their inevitable downfall at Ajith's hands. The plot twists like a coiled snake, striking with surprise cameos that'll have you leaping from your seat. Whispers of Vishal and SJ Suryah popping up in gleeful, chaotic glory only amplify the madness. The backend story of a kidnapped son might stumble slightly, but who cares when the screen is drenched in Ajith's unrelenting mass appeal? The action sequences-choreographed with Hollywood-level precision-see Thala flipping cars, smashing goons, and delivering double-barreled justice that's as stylish as it is savage.

And the "Ugly"? It's the sheer, unapologetic excess of it all-beautifully ugly in its ambition. The dialogues, dripping with Lollu Sabha-esque humor, land like firecrackers, blending quirky social media buzzwords with plot-driven zingers that'll have theaters echoing with laughter. GV Prakash Kumar's score is a beast unleashed, a background symphony that pumps adrenaline into every chase, every punch, every dramatic stare-down. Sure, some might say the VFX pushes boundaries a tad too far, but when Ajith's larger-than-life aura fills the screen, those minor hiccups dissolve into the grandeur of this technical marvel.

Adhik Ravichandran crafts a film that's a rollercoaster of emotions-rage against the villains, tears for the tender father-son moments, and unbridled joy at the mass masala feast. Trisha Krishnan shines as the heart of the story, her chemistry with Ajith a melody of grace amid the chaos. The supporting cast-Prabhu, Arjun Das, Yogi Babu-adds spice to this already sizzling dish, while the cinematography by Abinandhan Ramanujam paints every frame with vivid, jaw-dropping splendor.

Good Bad Ugly isn't just a movie; it's a celebration of Ajith's legacy, a tribute to Tamil cinema's love for larger-than-life heroes. It's the kind of film where logic takes a backseat, and pure, unfiltered entertainment reigns supreme. As the credits roll, you'll leave the theater buzzing, already craving a rewatch. This is Thala's ultimate mass masala triumph-a blockbuster that'll echo through 2025 and beyond!

I have no idea what I just watched... But I was laughing almost throughout the whole movie!

...and when I wasn't laughing I was scratching my head trying to understand the plot - if there even was one, or if it changed three, four times during the production?!

Anyhow, I've seen thousands of movies the last 50 years and I'm a huge film nerd, but Indian (be it Bollywood, Tamil etc) cinema isn't something I've watched, only perhaps three movies prior to this one?

I can't say if it was brilliant or just terrible, but I got a real good laugh from it - intended or not, and if you don't want to take an Indian movie seriously, one influenced by Kill Bill, Fast and the furious, John Wick and another handful of American action flicks, then give it a go!

But whatever you do don't try to figure out the plot or even try to make things make sense because you'll fail badly... Just have a laugh! I sure did!

Will I watch it again? I don't think so but it entertained me for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Good Bad Ugly: Mostly Ugly, A Fan Edit Gone Wrong

Aadhik Ravichandran's 'Good Bad Ugly' (mostly ugly) is a derivative, unoriginal mess, pieced together from recycled dialogues, unresolved plotlines, and unedited old songs. It shamelessly steals elements from popular international movies, creating an AI-generated feel of a crossover fan-edit, lacking any genuine narrative or artistic merit. Furthermore, the film suffers from glaringly poor editing, with easily discernible video cuts and continuity errors, even within short dialogue sequences, where single shots are consistently plagued by glitches. The music director's involvement feels like a waste of resources, and even supposedly significant visual elements, such as the hero's 'Red Dragon' tattoo, are poorly executed and unclear, despite dedicated screen time. The screenplay fails to justify the 'Red Dragon' moniker, instead portraying the character as a generic, rugged street thug with tattoos and studs. The film artificially constructs a backstory of him being a world-renowned don who abandoned his life for his family, directly mirroring plot points from films like 'John Wick,' even going as far as to claim he's the reason John Wick survived. Additionally, the film absurdly inserts the character into the narratives of 'Money Heist' and Korean action dramas, claiming he aided the Professor in the heist and rescued Don Lee's brother. The film is plagued by Ajith's consistently poor dance sequences, a recurring issue in his career. 95% of the film consists of voice-over narration, repeatedly recounting Red Dragon's fabricated past, which is essentially a compilation of Ajith's previous gangster and don roles from five different movies, presented as his former aliases. Every character, excluding the main villains, excessively praises Red Dragon, portraying him as an invincible figure, while the villains' lack of knowledge about him creates unintentionally comical moments. The entire production feels like a poorly assembled AI-generated video, lacking any coherent narrative or original thought.

A perfect spin-off of Ajith Kumar movies

Ajith Kumar is an A-list star with a career spanning over 3 decades in movie industry and this movie is a spin-off of his entire career, I meant it in a positive note. Every of his characters from different movies entangled in a nice plot and I am so glad that my childhood hero just relived his old moments. Adhik Ravichandran has mentioned that he is a big fan boy of Ajith Kumar and I think no any other directors have shown Ajith Kumar this beautifully in their flicks. The editing and the cinematography are stellar and GV Prakash nicely blended the old songs for the fight sequences. While the big frame on Ajith Kumar, the antagonist Arjundas stole the lime light too and he delivered a best performance. There is a video song where Arjundas and Priya Varrier dance for a big hit song in 90's and their chemistry is mind blowing. Overall, it's a great watch for all audiences and a big treat for Ajith Kumar's ardent fans.
