Kekkon Surutte, Hontô desu ka

I've read the complete manga of this show and guess what? It's great, i just love how these characters play out in the near future, how they build relationships, work their way out of problems mock their bosses and much much more, this series has a lot to offer, it's not just any SoL anime that deserves to be this low from the get go, Why not give it a few episodes and then decide what to do?and maybe then your mind might change..just hating it for the sake of hatred is not the way to go.. i won't spoil much but I would say that.. give it a chance guys..Not even 2 eps are out and already a 6.9/10?? 😔

365 Days to the Wedding (Kekkon Surutte, Hontou Desu ka? 365 Days to the Wedding) is a heartwarming and humorous romance manga written by Tamiki Wakaki. It follows the story of two introverted travel agency employees who decide to enter a fake marriage to avoid being transferred overseas. This manga blends romance, comedy, and slice-of-life elements, offering a fresh take on the fake marriage trope.

Plot Overview

The story revolves around Takuya and Rika, two socially awkward individuals working at the same travel agency in Japan. Takuya is an introvert who enjoys his quiet and predictable life, while Rika is similarly reserved, preferring stability over excitement. When their company announces plans to transfer single employees to overseas branches, both panic at the thought of leaving their comfortable routines. To avoid the transfer, they come up with an unconventional solution: a fake marriage.

While the premise of a fake marriage is not new in the romance genre, 365 Days to the Wedding differentiates itself through its realistic depiction of introverted characters and their slow, believable relationship development. Instead of dramatic misunderstandings or forced romantic tension, the story focuses on how two people, who would have otherwise never pursued romance, gradually find comfort and genuine affection.

Takuya Ohara and Rika Honjoji work at a travel agency branch, where it's been announced that one of the unmarried associates will be sent to Alaska to open the new branch in a year. Both are awkward, they each have reasons for not wanting to go to Alaska. Rika proposes that they let the manager know that they are engaged, figuring they can keep it low-key and then call it off once the Alaska-bound co-worker has been announced. The manager throws them an engagement party, and word spreads like wildfire about their engagement. Their slow-burn romance is super cute, and they are interesting characters on their own. The antics are slightly predictable, with family finding out, having to apologize for misleading family and friends, jealousy over their fake lover spending time with someone else, etc. But even then, the emotions seem really genuine and easy to relate to. This is an easy-to-binge rom-com, with conversation starters like assuming change will be bad and tangled webs of lies. There is very little physical romance depicted. There is some profanity, and adults drink alcohol, including an amusing scene where Rika powers up video-game-style by drinking wine in order to bust karaoke tunes. There is some sibling-jostling style violence only.
