This film is an astounding low-budget feat, combining the mockumentary format of Christopher Guest with the use of real people existing momentarily in the context of the film that feels like Soderbergh or Fellini. I can attest from a very close source that the film is entirely unscripted, and even calling it "improv" is a stretch - you will follow an enigmatically lovable main character careen through the real lives of Sag Harbor locals from glitterati to literati who barely seem to realize they are in a film and not the heightened reality that usually follows director-star Sam Pezzulo.

The cinematography is very nice also.

Structured like a mockumentary in the spirit of Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office, the film follows Sam as he attempts-disastrously-to produce a stage musical. When that crashes and burns in spectacular fashion, he pivots to making a film about the failed musical. What unfolds is a hilarious, self-referential spiral of missteps, egos, and secondhand embarrassment that somehow becomes more inspired the further it unravels.

Pezzullo's comedic timing is razor sharp, turning awkward silences into punchlines and minor inconveniences into full-blown catastrophes. His portrayal of a man delusionally chasing success through increasingly unhinged projects is both painfully relatable and riotously entertaining.
