Ralph Lauren: Deep Blue

A spectacular ad that goes in a different route than the usual elements brought on similar related with fragrances. Along with male model Simon Nessman, it stars award winning Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina and the idea worked on it relates to his profession, ability and Nessman ventures on the sport. This commercial for Ralph Lauren's Deep Blue fragrance creates an experience inclined towards friendship, a lovely afternoon surfing on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro (with incredible images, use of slow-motion and amazing waves rolling by), and guys and girls having a great time but not necessarily focused on romantic or sexy moments.

It's a different idea that works great with its visuals and all, but one that if given a proper reflection looks funny and pointless (why bother wearing an expensive fragrance if you're going for a swim). Nevermind, this is the kid part of me speaking, but some viewers may see it exactly like that.

Anyway, I was impressed by it. It sells the brand in a way that others aren't doing it, and the whole scenery never looked so beautiful as shown in this ad - pity it's only a minute long and those ads depend on people and not just mountains and oceans. But I could watch that forever. 9/10.
