Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr are two of the absolute best in the business. The humor, the timing, they are great. The show needs room to grow though.
The women are unbearable. Why are women written so ridiculously unlikable these days? Seriously there's an audience for it or as usual the men are carrying the load and the women are along for the free ride?
Women used to be written to be supportive and funny and wise. Now they're just miserable shrews. Humorously if the men were written so poorly not a single show would survive. Yet you have father's and such with big hearts. The women are struggling to keep up. The ending redeemed the women some though so here's hoping.

I watched all the episodes but I really didn't get into it until the seventh episode. I felt that the show has finally coming into its own. Damon Wayans and Junior do a fine believable job. The humor and writing is getting better as we get used to the characters and sitcom premise. I don't exactly where it is set. Maybe in New Jersey, Poppa worked on the radio in nearby New York City. The cast of characters are slowly coming into form as the season goes on. I enjoyed the Misery segment when Poppa has a nightmare about his co-podcaster in the niddle of the night. I felt the physical humor in the seventh episode added to the show.
It's good to see Damon Sr on a show. He's aged well and is still funny as hell. I like his old-school character with morals and values. However, his son isn't funny and the voices he does are lame. He wasn't funny on New Girl..it just seems like he's trying WAY TOO HARD.... The laugh track is annoying. They should have JJ on there more so that Sr. Could have a rival...their interaction was funny. Essence's character should be more like DeeDee on Half and Half becuase snooty big DeeDee was funny. Essence's character comes off as a bit annoying and not funny. I'll still support the show. Hopefully, it gets better.
Over the years of my life, I've watched a lot movies with the different Wayans family members. Most everything, from "Scary Movie" to "Let's Be Cops", so I'm familiar with a lot of their comedy and family. I didn't have many thoughts when I saw early promotion for this series. It didn't seem like something I'd love or avoid, because the clips they showed weren't that memorable. I feel like, as I gave it a chance, it got better as the show went on. The writers got their footing. The storylines are very basic, and the comedy comes from both Wayans, mostly, and it's surprised me. It's now a show I watch every week and laugh out loud at. Do you know how few sitcoms can still do that? Not many. Now, as I mentioned, the show took a little while to set itself up, and the first few episodes didn't seem as impressive as the later episodes. Also, the writing really fluctuates between episodes. Some episodes are really, really silly, with Wayans, Jr. Just shrieking, making noises and doing all kinds of physical comedy. If he did much more, it would be too much, and the last commercial break before the last segment is always a forced dramatic moment. Not necessarily needed. Overall, though, the chemistry between real father and son is great, and the show is very funny, in my opinion. If you like any of the Wayans, or their previous work, you'll like this, too. I look forward to more seasons of this, and hope it doesn't get cancelled anytime soon.
It's a good show and I love seeing the Wayans men again so much. But unfortunately first off Damon jr's wife it pretty boring and not someone you want to see too much of in the show they should really fix that or just stop showing her as much second I agree with another reviewer that said you need better writers you definitely do. I'm not saying it's a bad show it's for sure a good show just with the Wayans men in it alone but definitely needs to written better and take the wife out or give her better story's and I'm really trying to get used to the therapist lady but she's just so meh I don't know maybe it's just me on that one. I feel this could be more about the dad and son and the dads ex wife oh well we will see how this goes.
