- Nick Wilde: I don't care that we're different. You know? What I care about... is you. I care about you. Okay? And I didn't say it. I should have said it, but I didn't because... uh... Well, 'cause I am an emotionally insecure source of your discomfort who is not good at expressing his feelings. Probably because I've been on my own my whole life. It's not an excuse. It's just... It's why instead of telling you that you're the best thing that ever happened to me, I-I make jokes about your ears a-and tell you that you try too hard, when, you know, the truth is: I just don't want you getting hurt... because no one else in the world matters more to me than you do.
- Judy Hopps: I... I do try too hard because deep down I'm afraid I am what everyone thinks I am, and I suppress my discomfort because I'm worried it makes me look weak and I wanna be strong, and I think I'm failing all the time and I only take what you say personally because you're the only one in my life who *ever* believed in me, even when I don't even believe in myself! And I should have told you that... No one else in the world matters to me more than you do, either.
- Nick Wilde: I have unresolved childhood trauma that I refuse to discuss because being vulnerable scares me.
- Judy Hopps: I make dangerous choices because I have an unhealthy bunny hero complex.
- Nick Wilde: And I didn't join the ZPD because I wanted to be a cop; I joined because I always wanted to be part of a pack... and the thought of losing you scares me because... because you're my pack.
- Judy Hopps: [tearing up] I should never have left you. And I do need a herd of therapy animals... and I should have told you that you're the only partner I would ever want because... you're my fluffle.
- Nick Wilde: [awkwardly confused] Um...
- Judy Hopps: [sobbing] That's a bunch of bunnies!
- Nibbles Maplestick: [a cured Nibbles appears beside Gary] Whoa... Now *that's* what I call an overshare!
- Nick Wilde: There's a lot of different animals out there, and sometimes we start to look at all of the little reasons that we're not the same. And it makes us worry. But maybe if we just talk to each other, if we just try to understand one another, we would see that our differences don't really make any difference at all. Maybe we even see that what makes me, me, and you, you, can make us even stronger.
- Nick Wilde: Partner's in trouble. We need to get across town. Ignore the laws.
- Flash: No...
- [Nick frowns]
- Flash: ... problem!
- Mayor Winddancer: Where's the bunny?
- Nick Wilde: I don't know. But, you know, she's a rabbit, so maybe you can pull her out of your hat.
- Mayor Winddancer: I'm not wearing a hat.
- Captain Hoggbottom: He's messing with you, sir.
- Mayor Winddancer: I knew that! Get him out of here!
- Nick Wilde: You know, this isn't your worst idea.
- Judy Hopps: Wow! That was almost a compliment.
- Nick Wilde: Your worst idea is what you did with your ears.
- [Judy punches him below the belt]
- [from trailer]
- Gary: I have to set things right. And when I do, my family will finally be able to come home.
- Raccoon Head Chef: [a lion's chef's hat is knocked off during Judy's pursuit of Gary De'Snake, revealing a mouse tugging on his fur a la Ratetouille] I knew it!
- Judy Hopps: If anything, we should be going faster. As I always say...
- Judy Hopps: [Carrot Recording Pen] "I really am just a dumb bunny."
- Judy Hopps: [sighs] Nick?
- Judy Hopps: [Carrot Recording Pen] "I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-really-really am just du-dumb-dumb-dumb-dumb bunny. Just du-dumb-dumb-dumb-dumb bunny."
- Judy Hopps: [Snatches the Carrot Pen from Nick] This was a gift! To symbolize our partnership. And it is not appropriate for this moment.
- Nick Wilde: Oh no I was just-Ha. Hoping to jot down some ideas for what we will put on our tombstones. I'll start.
- [Snatches the Carrot Pen back from Judy]
- Nick Wilde: "His partner did it."
- Judy Hopps: What happened to you that you can't just have a normal conversation with someone?
- Nick Wilde: I... Will save that for my therapy animal.
- Judy Hopps: Yeah? You need a therapy animal!
- Nick Wilde: Yeah, well you.. Need a herd of therapy animals! Yeah, you need a whole migration of therapy animals!
- Nibbles Maplestick: [Judy and Nick are arguing] Whoa. The biggest mystery here is how in the world did you two solved anything!
- Stu Hopps: [Judy's brothers and sisters are playing happily with Gary, who is using his body as a slide] Kids! Get off the snake.
- Gazelle: [one of the "Zebros" just knocked down one of Gazelle's back-up Tiger dancers/bodyguards; vindictive] I will remember you, *zebra!*
- Gary: [to Judy] My family has been trying to prove we're not what everyone thinks for 100 years. But even this close, they never want me to put the weight of the world on my shoulders, because... I don't have any shoulders!
- [chuckles]
- Judy Hopps: I should've told you that you are the only partner I'd ever want because you're my fluffle.
- Nick Wilde: Hmm. Um...
- Judy Hopps: [crying] That's a bunch of rabbits!
- Pawbert Lynxley: I'm going to burn that patent! And I'm not going to let some dirt-bag fox and a dumb bunny get in my way!
- Nick Wilde: She is NOT a dumb bunny! And you've forgotten one thing!
- Pawbert Lynxley: What's that?
- Nick Wilde: We're friends with a snake!
- [Gary attacks Pawbert from behind]
- Gary: Howdy, *Partner*!
- [Gary flicks his tongue in Pawbert's ear]
- Nibbles Maplestick: [Pawbert just stabbed her with his hand-held venom injector] Yup. Shoulda seen that comin'!
- [falls down]
- Judy Hopps: [about Ebenezer Lynxley and the Lynxley Journal] It wasn't his journal. That's the secret. Zootopia wasn't created by a mammal... it was created by a snake!
- Nick Wilde: Love you partner. But I am still me so I'm only saying it once a decade
- Nick Wilde: [Judy presses button on Carrot Pen] "Love you Partner"
- Nick Wilde: Oh I'm gonna need that back.
- Judy Hopps: I'll give it back to you..After our next case.
- Nick Wilde: There's gonna be another.. case?
- Judy Hopps: Of course..Because when you broke out of jail, you also released 200 highly dangerous prisoners.
- Nick Wilde: Worth it.
- Nick Wilde: Hopps and Wilde?
- Judy Hopps: Wilde and..
- [puts on fake mustache]
- Judy Hopps: Cabbage Patch!
- Judy Hopps: [a poisoned Judy is giving up; a freezing Gary is creeping towards her] I... can't... move... and you're too... c-cold... to help... And he's gonna... Nick's gonna...
- Gary: Judy... The world... was never meant... t-to be... on one... animal's... shoulders. That's why... my great-grandma... wanted Zootopia to be for everyone... so we could all help each other.
- Judy Hopps: [crying weakly] I... didn't... help.
- Gary: You *did*. You chose to h-help... me... and became my best... warm-blooded... friend.
- [he gingerly places the tip of his tail on Judy's shoulder]
- Gary: Very *warm*!
- [His eyes glow as he senses Judy's body heat, which dazzles around the room with brilliant light]
- Gary: Permission... to hug?
- [Judy nods. Gary slithers around Judy, cradling her with his body. He snuggles her as her body heat melts the ice crystals on his scales, warming him up]
- Chief Bogo: Is there a reason why you don't take anything seriously?
- Nick Wilde: Jokes are classic defense mechanism for someone with a traumatic childhood.
- Chief Bogo: Would you like a traumatic adulthood?
- Nick Wilde: ... I would not.
- Antony Snootley: [Nick and Nibbles are busting out of prison. Snootley the anteater smuggler recognizes Nick] Hey! It's the fox dad... and a woodchuck!
- Nibbles Maplestick: [very insulted] Woodchuck? I'm a *BEA-VER*!
- Pawbert Lynxley: [telling Judy about the true author of the Lynxley journal - Gary's great-grandmother] She wanted to make the city a place where all animals felt welcome. So she invented her weather walls to help everyone. She just needed an investor, a partner. But when my great-grandfather saw what her idea could be worth, he plotted to steal her plans for himself. So he committed a murder - His own maid. And framed Gary's great-grandmother. And because she was a snake, everyone believed his lie. Soon, no reptiles were welcome. And over time, my great-grandfather buried the reptile neighborhood in snow. And he died, believing no one could ever uncover his crimes. But... He was wrong.
- [Judy has just uncovered a major breakthrough in the investigation; there was a Reptile District that had been buried in snow by the Lynxley family and their influence in the Tundra District expansion. Nick is trying to warn her about the pursuing cops who have arrived to arrest them.]
- Judy Hopps: There was a whole reptile neighborhood. Their home. The lynxes just... erased it. This is what they do.
- Nick Wilde: We have to go.
- Judy Hopps: They push the animals out with lies so they can have more!
- Nick Wilde: We gotta go, Carrots! We gotta go!
- Judy Hopps: That's what the snake's trying to prove!
- Nick Wilde: The ZPD is here!
- Judy Hopps: [shocked] What? No. They won't believe us... NOT without proof!
- [she starts gathering up the newspaper articles about the expansion and the reptiles forced emigration; Nick tries to stop her]
- Nick Wilde: Leave it! They aren't gonna just arrest us, the lynxes want us dead!
- Judy Hopps: We NEED it to solve the case!
- Nick Wilde: Judy, just...
- Judy Hopps: We have to solve the case, Nick!
- Nick Wilde: [shouts] I don't CARE about the case!
- [Judy stares at him, stunned]
- Nick Wilde: Judy... it's not worth dying for.
- Judy Hopps: The world will never be a better place if no one is brave enough to do the right thing.
- Nick Wilde: The world is what it is, Carrots. And sometimes, being a hero... it just doesn't make a difference.
- Judy Hopps: [almost speechless] I think... I think... Maybe... Maybe, we ARE different.
- Fru Fru: [Nick & Judy have been transported to the Big family's fashion warehouse] Welcome to my warehouse!
- [re: Judy]
- Fru Fru: Oh My God, I love your dress!
- Judy Hopps: [in an unusually high voice] Oh, Thank you!
- Mr. Big: [Mr. Big and Fru Fru are in pink attire] Fru Fru and I have become partners. She brings about great ideas for business and fashion. While I focus on what matters most.
- [smiles]
- Mr. Big: Being Grandpapa for my little Judith!
- [FruFru's daughter Judith appears behind the couch.]
- Little Judith: [holds out her lollipop ring] Kiss my ring!
- [Nick looks at Judy and chuckles reluctantly]
- Mr. Big, Fru Fru: [screaming over each other at Nick with wild ferocity] KISS IT! KISS THE STUPID RING! YOU KISS IT RIGHT NOW!
- [a startled Nick kisses the lollipop ring]
- Judy Hopps: Bunnies, we're burrowers. Rabbit kick!
- [Leaps out of the hole she dug in the snow and rapidly kicks Pawbert in the face]
- Jesús: The fanging didn't just change how folks saw snakes. No mammals trusted any reptile after that. That's why we all left. And that's when the Lynxleys expanded Tundratown the first time. And it's happening again. The expansion is going here. Marsh Market will be buried in snow. We'll all get pushed out. Those lynxes will get more land, and there's no way to stop them.
- Judy Hopps: [referring to the journal] What if the secret hidden in here could?
- Jesús: [a pause] Then I would say... holding it puts the two of you in grave danger.
- Judy Hopps: [Judy corners Gary, who is seemingly holding Milton Lynxley hostage and stealing the Lynxley journal. Gary duck his head down as Judy enters] Stop! Please. You don't have to hurt him.
- Gary: [panting fearfully; slowly peaks his head out] Hurt him? Snakes... never hurt anyone. We aren't the bad guys, they are.
- [Judy's face softens as she lets Gary's words sink in. Gary holds up the diary.]
- Gary: And this journal holds the secret that will prove it.
- [looks at Judy; imploringly]
- Gary: I *have* to prove it. *Please.*
- [Judy's ears droop as a wide-eyed look of compassion sets in. Gary looks at her with soulful eyes]
- Gary: This is my only chance to set things right. And when I do... my family... will finally be able to come home.
- Nick Wilde: [Nick knocks Gary out with a iron skillet] Boo-yah! I'm here!
- Judy Hopps: [gasps; rushing to Gary's side] Oh No!
- Nick Wilde: [proudly] Hopps n' Wilde, Dream Team! We got him. Or her. Reptiles, it's like, who knows?
