A fascinating look inside the minds of four young girls as they relate to each other and the world around them.

Just about every kid loves sleepovers with friends. Especially girls. Watching these four girls on screen reminded me so much of my own childhood and my own sleepovers with friends. Each of these girls has a story; I laughed with them, cried with them, learned from them. I knew girls from my own life that were very much like them. So as a female, I can totally relate to the issues they talked about, the problems they faced and the silly fun they had just being with each other. As a parent, it reminded me to check in with my own kids, talk with them and be there for them. I am sure any dads out there will be really surprised to see what happens at these sleepovers!

A wonderful insight the challenges girls face while growing up

I love everything about Laj. P Waghray's documentary. The way, the story unfolds and we become part of the experience of growing up, the way the story evokes empathy within us rather than pity etc. Important issues are addressed in a way that is engaging and powerful. The time span and the commitment that was involved to finish this documentary adds another dimension to our understanding of kids growing up and coming of age. This documentary also gives the girls a chance to reflect on their growth. In most cases, this is overlooked. The different times are overlapped and blended together in masterful editing that enhances the story line. The question of what is the boundary between childhood and adulthood- that is different for everyone based on how fast you are required to grow up due to circumstances. And there is so much more !

A movie with so much heart and very thought provoking

I loved this movie. This movie was a glimpse of 4 teenagers negotiating their way to adulthood. It was at times both sweet and heart wrenching. It left me wanting to know more about the futures of these young women and where life will take them. Sleepovers 2?? It seems that all of the girls in the movie had different adolescent experiences which makes it easy to find a person that you can relate to, have hope for or dream for. As a mother of children, this movie gave me a lot to think about. How what they experience now plays into their future life experiences, it can give them strength, understanding and perseverance. It is a must see movie for high schoolers and adults alike.
