Inside Amy Schumer

I tried to watch it, I really did. She is not funny at all This show is droll, un-creative and un-imaginative. Apparently she thinks that verbally abusing a child and making thinly veiled political statements will make folks laugh. Spoiler alert: it will not. Much like Sarah Silverman, Amy's attempts at shocking humor fall well short. I don't think she has had an original thought in years. I seriously feel like Amy has passed her prime and all she can do is regurgitate tired rhetoric. She has built a brand around being offensive and continues to push the "dumb blond" stereotype. Advise? Try and think of something that is actually funny.

I loved Amy Schumer as a contestant on Last Comic Standing -- she always nailed her routines. She's always entertaining as a talk show guest. The first three seasons of her show had hits and misses, with the hits outnumbering the misses. The fourth season is dreadful. It hasn't made me laugh at all. It's like watching a dirtier, less funny episode of Saturday Night Live. The sketches go on too long and often fall flat. The few decent jokes offer so little payoff that you feel cheated. It's as if she is phoning it in now. It seems like the fame has gone to her head and she no longer relates to her audience (as witnessed by her recent fan interactions).

If you hate laughing, then watch Inside Amy Schumer. It was painfully unfunny to watch her spit out the same joke in every sketch. This show is supposed to be directed at women and their perception of sex, but the last time i checked, I was a woman and I just couldn't laugh at or relate to any of it. I'm not a prude at all, but her joke is not well put together and the way she tells it comes across as childish, a bit like a high school kid who's bragging about self humiliation, rejection and sex like its no big deal.

Her sketch show mirrors her stand up comedy shows, dry and leaving a lot to be desired. How many ways can you tell the same joke?

Overall, "Inside Amy Schumer" falls flat, lacking the wit and creativity expected from a standout comedy series. It's a missed opportunity for genuine laughs.

They just started repairing it on Comedy Central and I thought I'd give a shot while working. I already had a pre-existing idea of Amy Schumer not being funny from her stand up, and this isn't changing my opinion of her comedy. This sketch comedy show is very bland and seems to be trying to force jokes out with randomness and sexual humor. There doesn't seem to really be a punchline out of those two options for the show. It structures itself like an episode of Robot Chicken, but it tries to keep itself in a semi-reality form where the jokes all revolve around her trying too hard to be funny and jokes about her love live that doesn't seem to do anything.
