In the final shooting script the scene quickly fast forwards during the meal. By this point the main course would be different than the spaghetti they were eating initially.

When Eilis first goes through US Customs, you see a far shot of her lifting her suitcase onto the counter for inspection. Then, in a subsequent shot, you see Eilis standing second in line and then it cuts to her standing in front of the Customs agent and getting her passport stamped.

Eilis is told by her priest that he's paid for her to take a night school bookkeeping course at Brooklyn College. In the early 1950s there were no tuition fees for full time day students, but night school students had to pay tuition at all of the NYC public colleges.

When you first see Eilis at the stoplight intersection, going to work, she is in a crowd of people on the street corner. In a much later, brief shot of her walking to work again, you see the very same people in the very same places at that stoplight intersection.

When people are waiting to cross the street, two cars pass by: a red sedan, and a yellow cab. Unlike the red car, there is no visible evidence of a driver in the cab.

Early in the film, a co-worker attempts to discuss the film Depois do Vendaval (1952). This scene in Brooklyn, NY, takes place in 1951; also in a key scene that takes place much later, a new tombstone on a grave is dated 1st July 1952. "The Quiet Man" was not on general release in USA cinemas until 14 September 1952, with the American premiere in New York City, New York taking place on August 21, 1952.

When Ellis and Tony first spend the night together the cushion behind Ellis's head is an IKEA original.

The American flag is seen flying on Brooklyn Bridge. However, it was not flown there until the 1990s.

When an Irish singer serenades an audience, at the top of a frame is an air conditioning duct that would not have existed in such a space in 1952.

The registration ZL 4994 on the black saloon car is in an incorrect typeface. That style of font was not used in Ireland until the late 1990s.

After the scene at Coney Island, Eilis does a voice over of a letter to her mother. During that voice over, in a pan shot inside the department store where she works there is a mirror in the background where you can at one point clearly see the camera that is shooting the scene.

When scenes take place in Ireland, cars are driving on the right side of the road. Driving in Ireland is on the left side, the same as England.

When Eilis is on the deck en route to New York she is facing the sun, which means she is facing south. Yet the ship appears to be moving from right to left in the water. That means it is moving in an easterly direction, in other words, away from the USA.

The skyline shown in the first scene on Ellis Island is incorrect for a skyline of the time, as multiple buildings are missing including the Chrysler Building.

Patty and Diana teach Eilis how to eat spaghetti - except Italians never use a spoon to twirl spaghetti onto the fork, that's what the curve of the plate is for.

Most people appropriately smoke cigarettes, but very oddly Ellis does not.
