There are quite a few Bob's Burgers Christmas episodes that have become holiday viewing staples. This episode takes a new, more emotional approach. Leaning less on laughs, and proving to the audience that the Belchers have always been more than just a comedic bunch. They're family.
My love for my favorite animated show just got a little bit deeper.
I don't normally write reviews, but my fiancée and I are big fans of the show, and we're absolutely floored by the quality of this episode. Everything from the characters to the humor to the music was executed flawlessly. This season has had multiple strong and emotional episodes, but none so much as this. I hope to see many more from the cast and crew, but if this were to be the finale of the entire series, I would be satisfied.
It's sweet, funny, musically moving and truly highlights the love in the Belcher family.
Sorry. No spoilers here. To say one thing may give away too much. Except that Gene is still razor sharp with his quips, Louise is still raising eyebrows and Tina is still a Thundergirl. While Bob & Linda are trying to be the best parents they can be.
I think most parents/family members have had to deal with kids having events on the same night. It's sometimes an impossible situation, but the Belchers make it work in true Belcher style.
Made me misty. Did not see that coming.

Louise Belcher: What's Around the Tree, by Louise Belcher. I can't see what's around the tree when I'm pawing through the presents, but when I sit back and get my present unwrapped, I look up and see my parents. I see and smell my brother, that's clearly where the gas is. And I see my sister, with something that looks like gingerbread on her glasses. And we don't have gingerbread, so this is odd. We made funny ornaments for the tree this year, and we make funny ornaments, sitting here around the tree so jolly. I didn't expect to feel this way. I was focusing on Santa, but the best presents are sitting here, and they aren't even wrapped up.
