Resumo
Reviewers say 'Contraataque' is an engaging Mexican action film with mixed feedback. Praised for its well-executed action scenes and intense performances by Luis Alberti and Luis Curiel, the film's fast-paced storytelling and compact runtime are appreciated. However, some find the plot predictable and the writing clichéd. Dialogue receives mixed reviews, with some finding it believable and others pedestrian. The authentic portrayal of Mexican reality and military themes is noted. Despite varied opinions, 'Contraataque' is generally seen as a solid, entertaining action movie.

If you love series like Narcos, you'll like this one. It it great entertaining fir it's budget. Do not expect a masterpiece or The Expendables, and you'll fine.
First, I really enjoyed this kind of Mexican productions like Contraataque. There is nothing new here, but everything is done pretty well keeping in mind the budget.
Second, acting here is good. Even it is an action movie, there are also a few things that are remarkable even the amateurish cast.
Last, action scenes are better than 90% of Hollywood similar movies. No CGI here and great old school action scenes.
So, if you want an entertaining B-action movie, this one is for you.

This movie was surprisingly better than expected in many areas.
The directing was spot on. The cinematography was excellent. Even the casting and performances were on point.
The issue here is the writing, which really had nothing new to offer for the genre. In fact, it was too pedestrian and a story told many times before, and much better.
Even towards the end, the writing became too predictable and cliched. Nevertheless, an impressive overall international production, and a well deserved 5/10 to all production and casting areas, except to the basic screenplay that was rather boring. Still a good watch if nothing else to see.

I really enjoyed this movie. I'm not Spanish speaking hell I'm from Sweden but I truly enjoyed this movie. Didn't matter it wasn't in English. I think the acting was on point, photography was great same with effects. I felt it could have gone any way in the end but without giving spoilers it really held me on edge.
There were some minor things I object to or dislike but it's so small it what drags it down to 8/10.
And 8/10 is because I truly enjoyed it. For me a movie is good and I enjoy the whole movie then it's a 10. That's how ratings should work. If there's something I feel could have been better then I degrade it.
But rest assured. It's very watchable. Great action.

Captain Guerrero saves two women from getting kidnapped by cartel members and the women tell them that they witnessed a mass grave so the cartel wanted to silence them. The cartel's leader has a grudge over Captain Guerrero and his team so he plans an ambush on them when they are off duty as well as unarmed. How do these elite group fight their way back to safety while they remained outgunned and outnumbered, forms rest of the story.
Chava Cartas's film is definitely an entertaining actioner which gets into business quickly after establishing the events that leads to the ambush quickly. The elite group is thick and as the story progresses, we get a chance to connect with the younger sharp shooter and the medic while they also establish the group's dynamics. All these provide for the entertainment and the action scenes keep the adrenaline rush pumping.

An action movie that fulfills its purpose, being entertaining and providing a different perspective on Mexican justice. It doesn't escape the conventional, but it works.
"Contraataque" has a simple premise that has been seen in many films of the genre; however, the performance of some actors and that Mexican approach to justice is visually pleasing. Adding a small contribution to the cinema of that country, noting that its essence or culture is more than evident.
Within its cinematic sections, the work of Chava Cartas should be highlighted, a director who takes a turn from his previous productions and attempts to add the action genre to his history, achieving his goal and taking advantage of the window provided by Netflix. The director delivered some interesting shots with well-executed action sequences, in addition to reflecting the country's culture in all its splendor.
On the other hand, the development of the performances is decent, although they could have been better. Firstly, due to the performance of Luis Alberti, who takes command of the film with his characterization of the captain and strong expressions (at least at that point). Noé Hernández imposing the harshness and wickedness of his role as the villain. The actor Luis Curiel, from my perspective, is the one who does it best, and I emphasize his depth as a character, which is the one that tries the most to connect with the audience.
That is where the negative points lie that the movie needed to be greater. The script does not delve deeply into many of its protagonists, giving each of them a simplicity that can be counterproductive. If it had a more solid reason, perhaps the experience would be different. In addition to that, there are some interpretations that are quite mediocre, unbelievable, and even detestable to watch, but you'll be able to notice. Some scenes can also be added that have no coherence whatsoever, leaving plot holes or continuity errors. Small details.
"Contraataque" encompasses reflective themes that somehow add to all the action seen on screen. Justice, leadership, teamwork, drug trafficking, kidnapping, smuggling, dirty politics, military training, hope, survival, the loss of loved ones, among others.
In that sense, the movie is entertaining and stands out among many action productions of the year. It's not a gem, but for passing the time, it deserves a chance.

- Erros de gravaçãoAfter the first attack, the Captain says they are heading to the Brownsville checkpoint, 20 Kilometers away. Soon after, the cartel member is given a phone that is tracking the soldiers and says they're headed to El Paso. Those two cities are over 800 miles apart.
