An Emotional Rollercoaster with Stellar Performances!

Sarfira is an emotional rollercoaster that keeps you engaged from start to finish. Akshay Kumar's portrayal of Vir Mhatre is both inspiring and heartfelt. His interactions with his on-screen parents, played by Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas, are especially moving. The film beautifully captures the essence of determination and the pursuit of dreams. The climax is unforgettable, making you cry and leaving you inspired. Paresh Rawal's performance adds a perfect balance of humor and gravitas. Radhika Madan also delivers a remarkable performance as Rani. This film is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of family support in achieving one's dreams. A must-watch for anyone who loves a good drama film filled with drama, emotion, and inspiration.

Good: wins! The wicked: tastes its own medicine.

Tone, Script & Story: The revolutionary story of Flight Company Deccan Air of how they bought flight services to poor people. Due to their venture many people were able to travel via air route as fares were affordable with tickets as cheap as Rupee 1.

What a fantastic cinema where determination wins despite of the sick nature of competition. It was all right as we approached end and the sick got the taste of its own medicine.

I have always wanted India to be a country where standard of living is at least enough to afford inter country air travel with ease. Thus I liked the movie. I however am surprised such startup was nowhere in news.

There were two instances that peaked my emotions, one when the wife supports him financially and other when villagers were all pouring there love in form of finances. Yes the poor people.

The sad thing is in reality Air Deccan is closed. Maybe that's why movie dint work at box office.

Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: The sarfira man, the charming wife, air force, its officers, sky, planes, etc are all captured well.

Music: Music was average. Acting: Acting was good. You hate Paresh, You love Sarfira, You like the wife, Anil and Prakash shine along with others.

Final Verdict: Such an important incidence I don't know why was out of news. No problem, now it's out. Do watch it.

Akshay soars high in this inspirational tale

Akshay soars high in this inspirational tale which unfortunately failed to take off at the box office. Sarfira is a great movie with a terrific real life story and a solid performance by Akshay Kumar. Unfortunately another victim of the online trend of hate towards remakes in Bollywood and Akshay Kumar without even considering the quality of the movie. Like most Hindi movie audience I have not watched the national award winning Soorarai Pottru which is most likely a much superior movie. But unlike most Hindi movie audience, I have now watched Sarfira and absolutely loved it.

I think the reason the movie still retains its original DNA and emotional punch is because of the original writer, producer, director and some common cast. Kudos to Sudha Kongara for doing a great job retaining and replicating the movie's core soul. Paresh Rawal is perfect as the filthy rich, influential and arrogant aviation entrepreneur who is pitted against the ambitious protagonist of the movie played very well by Akshay and is his polar opposite. Radhika Madan and Seema Biswas are good in their respective roles. The movie even gets blessed by Suriya who was the producer and lead of the original through a nice Cameo at the end.

These are the kind of movies that deserve an audience. Heartwarming, well made stories that represent the best of society, with good acting, direction and content. Soorarai Pottru means Praise the Brave which doesnt exactly mean Sarfira (Crazy).....something gets lost in translation and just like the title, the movie's success and appreciation doesnt translate well despite its quality. This is a movie definitely worth watching with Akshay delivering a top notch performance like the days of his back to back social dramedies just a few years back. Loved it. 8/10.

Akshay is back!

A must watch for any Akshay fan, this movie will make you cry and root for Vir Mhatre even if you have seen the original. Paresh Rawal plays the rich businessman really well. Radhika Madan is good in some parts. So many people don't know the story of Deccan Air and how it sounds impossible to think of an airline ticket in Re.1. The journey of hardship, frustration and hope showcases Akshay's immense range as an actor, something we have missed in this recent films. Seems Biswas as his mother makes an impact even with limited screen time. This move will make you feel for Vir and you want to watch it till the end to see him finally succeed.

Engaging story, good acting

On leaving the Indian Air Force after a short engagement a young man Vir ( Akshay Kumar) from a rural area in India dreams of establishing a low cost airline for the millions of India who cannot afford air travel. Laughed at by his parents, relatives and friends he continues planning nevertheless. His parents also want him get married to Rani (Radhika Madan) who is equally enthusiastic to start a bakery and be self sufficient. The marriage does take place and both get busy in their respective endeavors. Vir faces many hurdles, upsets, and challenges in setting up the Airline but each time he springs back due to his resilient nature and "never say die" attitude.

This is a remake of a Tamil movie and is based on true events as described in a book on the life of Captain Gopinath. Director Sudha Kongara has made a riveting movie and despite a comparatively long runtime of 155 minutes I did not find it dragging anywhere though the emotional scenes seem overstretched and cringy at places. Akshay carries the movie throughout and has an opportunity to showcase various shades of the character he plays. Audiences will identify with the resolve, the determination, the fortitude and the tenacity of his on screen character. Radhika impresses as the sprightly and spunky lass displaying woman empowerment. Paresh Rawal plays the rich, pompous and scheming Airline boss out to place hurdles in Akshay's path.

Akshay's finest performance in recent times!

Sarfira stands out one of those rare instances in biographical drama space, where they tend to skillfully weave familial dynamics into the fabric of protagonist's aspirational journey.

The writing not only highlights the aspirations and lifelong goals of our central character but also places significant emphasis on the bonds he nurtures with those dear to him.

Every bit of emotion; be it love, resentment, or reconciliation are portrayed with sincerity and compassion.

The latter segments of the film may come off as elongated, but the underlying motivation is showcased with much efficiency nonetheless!

It has been quite some time since I witnessed Akshay Kumar immerse himself so fully into a role; his commitment to the character was palpable and shined through in his notable performance!

A special mention goes to Radhikka Madan as well, whose portrayal of a strong independent woman beautifully complemented Akshay's sincere efforts. Loved her here!

A noteworthy watch.

The film is a reflection of the life of GR Gopinath who was an aviation pioneer of the first low-cost airline in India. The story portrays his life, during which he faces many difficulties but manages to hold his own ideas against rival companies. He had a dream that would change the Indian airlines forever. He went against his investors, believing that there should be an airline easily affordable by the working class. He had a desire of making something which the world would have never seen or thought of. This set him apart from the competition. He tried hard, faced many obstacles but nothing could keep him from becoming who he wanted to be. Apart from all the wealth he raised, he had something much greater to focus on, focus on becoming a common man's voice and a well-known aviation magnet. The movie is extremely inspirational. Moreover, it dives into some of the hidden demons Gopinath faced throughout his journey.

Akshay Kumar, once again, shows his depth as an actor and his ability to carry a film. He deserves national award for this film and his due as an outstanding actor. Akshay Kumar's screen presence is powerful. The beginning scene sets the pace for his dream journey of a common man's airline. Sarfira showcases the torments and larger than life ambition of a genius.

Verdict - A winner all the way. Fly high...

Recommended 👍🏼 by Hit Ya Flop - Movie World

Sarfira is an engaging and inspiring tale that showcases Sudha Kongara's writing prowess as one of the major highlights of the film. Sarfira is a scene-to-scene rehash of the original "Soorarai Pottru,", with the primary location shifted from a village in Tamil Nadu and Chennai to a hamlet in Maharashtra and Mumbai. The character names have been changed accordingly, but everything else remains the same.

If you have seen "Soorarai Pottru," on Amazon Prime, "Sarfira" won't offer any new surprises. However, for those who haven't seen the original and are fans of Akshay Kumar, it is worth watching for its inspirational narrative and strong performances. The film is filled with entertaining and dramatic moments that maintain interest. However, it falters in places, especially in the second half. The film could have benefited from a tighter edit and fewer songs to keep the story's momentum intact.

Akshay Kumar carries the film with a heartfelt and emotional performance. Radhikka Madan shines with a strong and confident portrayal. Seema Biswas and Anil Charanjeett stand out with their remarkable supporting act. Paresh Rawal is exceptional as the antagonist, reprising his role from the original version. Despite their brief screen time, Ravi Khanvilkar, Prakash Belawadi, and R. Sarath Kumar make a notable impact. Saurabh Goyal, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, Jay Upadhyay, and other supporting actors were fine. Suriya's cameo was superb.

A Beautiful Story of Resilience and Success!

Sarfira is a beautiful story of resilience and success, masterfully portrayed by Akshay Kumar. His performance as Vir Mhatre is both heartfelt and inspiring. The film's narrative is well-crafted, showcasing the journey of a man who overcomes numerous obstacles to achieve his dreams. Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas deliver stellar performances, adding depth to the story. The chemistry between Akshay and Paresh is delightful, providing moments of humor and emotional depth. The film's climax is both heart-wrenching and inspiring, leaving you with a mix of tears and hope. The positive buzz around its box office performance is a testament to its quality. This film is a must-watch for anyone who believes in the power of dreams and the strength of the human spirit.

An inspiring tale of a common man's plight to pursue his dream

"Sarfira" takes you to the odyssey of a common man from the remote village of India, who dreams of starting a low cost airlines to make flying affordable to lower mid class, which led to the operation of "Deccan Airlines," India's first budget airlines. The film explores an untouched subject, and somewhat leaves a legacy to aim high and pursue one's dream. For this fact, the film is commendable which is carried through emotional nuances and superb performances.

However, the film isn't without flaws. The narrative is often disjointed, and it doesn't give an account on the downfall of Deccan Airlines. However, its goodness outweighs its negativity. Hence, it definitely deserves a watch despite its box-office debacle.

Rating: 2 stars out of 4.

Bollywood's Recycling Plant

Once again Bollywood serving up another dish of reheated leftovers! This time, it's "SARFIRA," a rip-off of the Tamil gem "SOORARAI POTTRU." Yep, because why create anything new when you can just slap some Bollywood gloss on it and call it a day? Bravo, Bollywood, you've outdone yourself in laziness!

And Akshay Kumar have act somewhat good but watching him attempt to fill Surya's shoes is like watching a toddler in their dad's suit - awkward, oversized, and utterly unconvincing. It's like they took Surya's soul, put it through a Bollywood blender, and out came a lifeless, Bollywood-flavored smoothie. Yum?

Seriously, Bollywood, is there some unwritten rule that originality is forbidden? First, we were bombarded with endless, mind-numbing love stories, and now we're stuck in a never-ending loop of remakes. What's next? Remaking remakes? Oh wait, you probably already have that in the pipeline.

So here's a hot take: save your hard-earned money, folks. Skip "SARFIRA" and watch "SOORARAI POTTRU" instead. At least you'll get a taste of genuine talent and storytelling. Or, you know, just watch paint dry - it's more entertaining and doesn't insult your intelligence.

Akshay Kumar's star isn't shining, it's burnt out, and Bollywood is the landfill where creativity goes to die.

Inspiring tale of human resilience...Akshay is back..

For me, it is one of the brilliant masterpiece from Hindi cinema in recent times. The title itself is outstanding and it brings curiosity in the viewers mind about the film. So, kudos to whoever comes up with the title and as well as with the tag line. The story is outstanding. It just wins your heart. Sudha(captain of ship)does a outstanding job. She captured each scene beautifully. Even the character are edged out beautifully. To be honest, Akshay has disappointed in his recent BMCM. But this one, trust me, he did an outstanding job. He will make you cry, make you laugh. He sincerely performed the character of Vir Matre. One thing I want to highlight, that his emotional scenes in the film steals the limelight from other actors. I have heard that he doesn't put glycerine in his eyes. May be he is saying truth. In film, it just looks very authentic and he will make you believe that he is actually crying to his core. He truly lived the character of Vir Matre. His Marathi accent is phenomenal. I can say that this character, would be his best character and I think he enjoyed playing this a lot which easily translates on screen. One last thing about Akshay, people always praise Akshay for his impeccable comic timing, which is true but I think with this film, people will get to know that he is great when it comes to act out emotions be it making you laugh, showing anger or making you cry. Radhika madan lends great support to the film. She is also outstanding. Paresh Rawal played a rich and powerful person whom you hate and that is where the actor wins. Akshay's mother, his friend, radhika's uncle, her family all lends great support to the film. All other actors in the film does a great job. This story is setup in aviation sector and kudos to the makers for bringing this epic story in front of us. The story itself is inspiring and all of other things are just cherry on the cake.

If you have time, kindly watch this film. If these films won't do the business, then it is loss of the viewers. Makers won't make films on these subjects , they will switch to the normal commercial method to make money(which is also required) but these inspiring tales must be told also. And then audience(us, the viewer's) will only say that hindi films are bad. Yup, it is a remake of south indian film but it is difficult to recreate the same magic twice. To which sudha and her team, took the challenge and passed it with flying colours. So, I think it's in our interest only, that we support these films so that we can get these inspiring stories of human resilience.

Akshay Film managed to fly High - (Review) - - Review of Sarfira - itsbymayank

First thing don't compare the work of Akshay n Surya.. They both performed there best..

Everyone knows it's a Remake and all reviews you'll read or here you'll hear same words remake.. Comparing both works will disrespect there work. Simply both have there own work space and skill.

Akshay worked fine in this movie maybe it'll save Akshay Downfall of movie careers.

Atleast makers gave a bit of different storyline (a bit) just they do with all remakes.

Songs - thumbs up.

Acting - Good.

Characters - Nicely worked.

Conclusion - Worth Watching Once.

Theater response is mix. People are okay with the film and some where saying Good one.

It's a remake but Akshay and All Characters have performed quite well. Doesn't matter if you have watched Surya's One, you won't get bored. Some where it lags but manage to fly high.

Itsbymayank - Mayank Bharat Bhushan Louteriya.

Must Watch

If you're a fan of Akshay Kumar and of the original film then this is a must watch.

Akshay Kumar doing what he does best steals the scene every time.

Great story, good music, a very heart warming film.

This should get people to realise that Akshay Kumar is the best, regardless of his recent hiccups.

He pours his heart and soul into this film, and though it is a biopic you'll think it's Akshay's own life being played out.

Supporting cast, Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madhan gave a stellar performance which only made this that much more of a treat to watch.

For all fans of Akshay Kumar and Soorarai Pottru, please go to the cinema and watch this.. you will not be disappointed.

Dreams Take Flight, Execution Stays Grounded 🎬

Sudha Kongara's Hindi remake of her own Tamil triumph "Soorarai Pottru" arrives with considerable baggage, both from the original's critical acclaim and Akshay Kumar's recent string of underwhelming performances. While "Sarfira" possesses all the narrative components for an inspiring underdog story, it suffers from the peculiar curse of adaptations that feel obligatory rather than essential. The film tells the story of Vir Mhatre, a former Air Force officer turned village dreamer who sets his sights on democratizing air travel for India's masses, but the execution feels more mechanical than magical.

Kongara demonstrates her understanding of the material's emotional core, having already navigated these thematic waters successfully. However, translating her vision into Hindi cinema reveals certain limitations in both scope and authenticity. The director manages to maintain the story's inspirational framework while struggling to capture the raw energy that made the original so compelling. The Maharashtra village setting provides adequate backdrop, though it never transforms into the vivid character that rural Tamil Nadu became in "Soorarai Pottru." The film's visual language remains competent without ever achieving the soaring cinematography that a story about aviation dreams truly deserves.

Akshay Kumar delivers one of his more engaged performances in recent memory, clearly invested in Vir's journey from idealistic dreamer to determined entrepreneur. His portrayal captures the character's stubborn optimism and working-class sensibilities, though it occasionally feels calculated rather than instinctive. Kumar's natural screen presence serves the material well, particularly during the film's more emotional beats, but he cannot entirely overcome the script's tendency toward predictable character beats. Radhika Madan provides solid support as Rani, though her role feels somewhat underwritten compared to the original's more developed female lead. Paresh Rawal brings his considerable theatrical skills to the antagonist role, creating a formidable opponent whose corporate machinations feel appropriately ruthless.

The film's greatest strength lies in its unwavering commitment to the central message about making dreams accessible to ordinary people. The story draws inspiration from Captain Gopinath's book "Simplifly" and multiple true stories from entrepreneurship and aviation, lending authentic weight to Vir's seemingly impossible mission. The aviation industry backdrop provides fascinating insight into the bureaucratic obstacles and corporate resistance that innovative startups face, particularly when challenging established monopolies. These sequences generate genuine tension and showcase the David-versus-Goliath dynamics that make entrepreneurial stories so compelling.

However, the remake suffers from an inevitable sense of familiarity that diminishes its impact. The narrative beats follow expected patterns, and the emotional moments feel somewhat manufactured despite the solid performances. The film's pacing occasionally drags during the middle sections, particularly when exploring the technical aspects of airline operations. While these details add authenticity, they sometimes slow the momentum when the story should be building toward its climactic confrontations. The musical score supports the action adequately without creating the memorable themes that elevate great inspirational films.

The production values remain consistently professional, with decent attention to period detail and convincing recreation of early 2000s India. The aviation sequences are handled competently, though they lack the spectacular visual flair that modern audiences might expect. The film's technical aspects serve the story without drawing undue attention, which proves both a strength and a limitation. Overall, "Sarfira" functions as solid mainstream entertainment that delivers its inspirational message effectively while failing to transcend its formulaic approach.

The chemistry between Akshay and Paresh Rawal is a delight to watch, adding humor and depth to the film. Radhika Madan shines as Rani, and Seema Biswas is outstanding as Vir's mother. The story is inspiring, depicting the journey of a man who overcomes numerous setbacks to achieve his dreams. The film's portrayal of business aspirations and the determination to succeed is motivating. Every scene is meticulously crafted, making it a cinematic masterpiece. A typical Bollywood inspiration

Win triumph over evil a good inspirational movie with some really great moments supported by good acting and you will get goose bumps for sure this is what these movies do good they make you think that there is so much more t achieve in this small life they make you resonate with them reminded me of another great movie '12th fail' not to say it was that good but yeah it had similar elements But it was surely not without its flaws. Thing holding it back was the obsession from Bollywood to assume it's audience is dumb and just show the bright side of the picture I mean hardly anyone questions anything about veer's plan apart from his beliefs, courage etc. Nothing much about the logistics, financial aspect and they focused on love aspect a bit too much for my liking and it was Okish at best

FAVOURITE MOMENT :: definitely seeing everyone one smile in flight with a beautiful song in the background FAVOURITE CHARACTER :: Not much to choose from so yeah veer.

The tragic DOWNGRADE of Akshay Kumar Continues!

Can any sane person engage himself in the remake of one of the most loved, celebrated and talked about movie from just about 3.5 years back? Akshay Kumar has downgraded himself from being one of the most popular and successful actors in the 2010s to being the most boring, dull, and collapsing actor! Today we are made to question his sanity because of his reckless script selection, subpar acting, and remakes after remakes! It saddens me every time I think about this drastic downfall of an erstwhile famous, loved, credible and the most engaging comedic actor!

This movie is a frame to frame remake of a movie that even a fetus in its mother's womb knows about! Overall, this is a disorganised jumble of clumsily done action scenes and awkward dialogue. Akshay gives a flat performance devoid of any kind of depth or feeling, as if he is completely bored. It appears like he is being coerced/forced into acting in films, he doesn't enjoy or want it anymore. The supporting cast's roles are either ridiculously overdone or agonisingly one-dimensional.

Due to the terrible visual effects and cinematography, the movie appears to be a low-budget spoof rather than a high-budget Bollywood production. The film's music, which is at best inconsequential and at worst irritating, does little to turn around the falling production.

Akshay Kumar is a sinking ship! His family, agents and advisors shall come forward to save the assets in this man! We love him and it goes utterly hard on us to witness his downfall!

Copy👎

This is a copy of the surya's film called soorai pottru . Waste of time and money another fall of akshay's film. Why is he copying everyone movie for example, selfie was a copy of prithivraj's film called driving license. Nothing in the film. The tamil version was a masterpiece. Akshay Kumar is one of the most popular actors but did not expect this from him. First i thought that this movie will be great, but after finishing the movie i was relaxed. 100 times tolerance. And looking at the google now i knew it was a copy. I am only giving 3 stars. Make better movies next time. Don't watch this film.

A gem! Missed by many

What an awesome story based on true events! The movie has so many downs and few really amazing ups. I won't say much but this one is not to be missed. Akshay has done a fantastic role equally challenged by Paresh bhai.

The flow of the movie is really good but the music is weak overall. I think few good songs could've made a difference.

It does have a regional touch too but that's the demand of the script, so kudos to the director to stay true to it.

I'm sad this was missed in theaters by almost all and this was really deserved to be watched on big screen.

I'm sure I'm the long run it will become a cult!

Amazing movie on perseverance and resilience.

A must watch if you have high aspirations and want to make a difference in society. It has shown the struggle of a entrepreneur who has a idea, however to reach his decided goal he has to go through many hurdles. This movie shows that if you have faith in your idea, you should never give in. See the idea till it's completion. And no one can deny you sucess. It shows, we should have big dreams and the heart to fulfill it. Then it doesn't matter what background you come from, you will reach your goals. Director has done justice to the script. Amazing videography. I don't want to give out much about this movie. If possible watch in cinema theatre.

Perfect remake

There are only few times these days when you can say "I have watched an good Akshay Kumar movie", this is that movie. Though it is an official adaptation of Soorarai Pottru, but if you have not watched the original before then this movie is an absolute gem. Akshay kumar has portrayed the character of Capt. G. R. Gopinath and must say has done a splendid job. Special mention to the female lead Radhika Madan who has done a complete justice to the role. This movie takes you to a flight of emotions and joy. I completely recommend this movie as a must watch, and feels like should have watched it on big screen.

Another fall for Akshay Kumar.

Another release, and another failure for him. Surprisingly, even after flops and disasters, Akshay keeps getting movies and somehow paid highly. Another release, and another failure for him.

The plot of this impeccable movie is known to us all. Suriya and co. Pulled of an incredible and invincible job in the original one and in this one, Akshay sucks as usual. The is no life or feeling in his acting anymore. The direction, filmography, acting and overall execution of this movie bellow the minimum standard. They have made fun of such an incredible film done in the south.

To Akshay, as a big fan, if you don't feel the urge to act in movies, please don't do it anymore. Give it a rest. You truly suck! Give us a break!
