The Other Side

This is genuinely the scariest short film i have ever watched. I only found it out as i was looking for more work from Amelia Warner. A beautiful and beguiling English actress who i loved from Quills, Lorna Doone and Take a Girl Like you. Someone who retired early from acting and really shouldn't have. She was superb and so was the nanny. The bad guy was scary! The ending was a little confusing but i'm sure they could have worked out a better one in a proper film setting.

Shame about the Santoro Brothers ripping off the script / shots from High Tension. None of the cast/crew/producers were made aware before production.

What happens to half-rate actors once they get too old to still make appearances in blockbuster Hollywood movies?? Indeed: they make even smaller appearances in foreign short movies. That's exactly the case with "The Other Side" which was filmed way too dark, too serious and too short. Look out: it could have been interesting, I'm not saying it would have been a fiasco any way the boat shuffled, but I'm just stating that nothing on this movie work because the end result turns out to be the result of what would happen if a toddler would pick up a VCR-recorder and decide to make a movie. It's doesn't make sense and the ending is even worse than the previous nitwittery. Let's hope the world won't have to watch a sequel or else we'd definitely not be present in any theatre having the gal to play such worthless no-good of a mini-film which this title was supposed to be. Yuck...

I thought it was great. A little confusing at the end but the suspense and production values were top-notch. Flesh out the characters more and improve the ending and it could easily be a full length feature film.

The acting and film work were the best I've seen in a short film in a long time. I've seen the actress who played the nanny (Jennie Jacques) in other films such as " Truth or Dare " and " Cherry Tree Lane " and thought she was very good in those as well.

I am not sure the ending is as good as it could have been but over-all the short film is great. Although it was predictable in some areas in was still good in a genre that has had just about everything you could think of happen in it, has already been done over and over. I'd love to see more films from the directors the Santoro brothers. I guess I'd give it 7 stars out of 10 for a short film.
