Big mess

Another mediocre Reel One Entertainment TV movie in 2023 season. There are some promising changes in the Act I but they quickly fell apart as movie goes. This is the first time that ROE TV movie takes place in Austin, Texas, but it wasn't shot there as you quickly recognize Hamilton (Canada) including scenes at Lake Ontario coast. Of course, they have to overuse Austin stock footage to fool viewers. But there is more about location. Somebody forgot that Hispanics are one third of Austin residents, and yet there is not a single one in the movie which is logical as it was shot in Hamilton where Hispanics are statistical error.

There are more technical issue like in the best ROE tradition - the main lead Jess Brown suffered from the bad makeup in the most scenes, there are few bad cuts, but they are small, and few scenes have poor audio recording like it was recorded on cell phone.

What really killed movie for me is the writing which is one big mess. You see, this is the first time ROE co-produced fantasy movie. It involves time travel which if not written properly causes various issues which happened here. It doesn't help that leads didn't have chemistry and I don't understand how they did end up together as plot makes no sense.

Just watch trailer and save your valuable free time as it's ROE one and it shows mostly whole movie compressed in just 2:29 min. However, there is one big elephant in the room. ROE TV movies are liberal one, and there is nothing wrong with that. They now regularly have gay or lesbian couples which is again completely fine but for some reason(s) they always conveniently omit them from trailers. Every single time without exception. This time, the parallel story is about Stephanie's sister Angela who is going to marry Carly, and their wedding preparation is the plot device. Like they are ashamed to show it.
