Giving this movie a 5.7 is absurd. Sure it wasn't Christopher Nolan level and it won't be at the Academy Awards, but this was a GREAT movie. It's heartfelt and charming with the classic kind of slow burn, and a forced one at that, we all love. The characters were three dimensional and the fl didn't make me want to tear my hair out which is a big plus. It was a movie I could truly relate to. Her speech on the beach is one I have given myself and it honestly brought me to tears. This movie made me feel seen. This one is for the book girlies who were always picked last for the team, last in relationships, and last in their own lives. It's inspiring and truly enjoyable. Maybe I should go to summer camp too lol.

I loved the message that this movie conveyed and the acting was honestly really good compared to so many other movies. It made me giggle, smile, and even shed a tear. The raw emotions given through this movie was something that is hard to miss. I would easily watch it again if I were given the choice, and I will definitely recommend this to someone who is looking to watch a rom-com! It's been a while since I've liked a movie this much, and perhaps it's because I can see myself in the main character, but nonetheless, the message that was portrayed in this movie was delivered, and the chemistry between the cast was off the charts.

Rachel Boudwin and Drew Ray Tanner's chemistry was off the charts! I was also impressed by the acting in this film. Sometimes novel adaptations can have cringey moments, but I found myself immersed while watching this film. There weren't any moments where I felt like the dialogue didn't fit the context or was delivered awkwardly. Most importantly, I think the message of this film regarding body positivity and loving oneself is really meaningful. Rachel Boudwin accurately conveyed how people act out during moments of vulnerability/insecurity, and she did it so well. Her delivery was touching, and I think she's a very charming actress. I look forward to her future works!

I saw this movie on a list and I read the brief summary. I thought it was just another coming of age film set at a summer camp somewhere in the US. I wasn't familiar with the cast and psyched myself up to believe they were inexperienced. I was prepared to jump to something else if the plot and dialog became cliched.

This film actually has a good script, it's funny and it plays against the normal cliches. The cast who were unknown to me, do a really good job. The dialog is good, it's not dumb. It moved at just the right speed. It has messages, but it isn't preachy about them. And kudos to the director for making the film successful.

Didn't expect much starting this movie, but was pleasantly surprised.

Sure, it's a cheesy summer romance meant for teenage girls, but it also is a movie about overcoming fears of rejection, jealousy and insecurities. It's about letting go of the idea that your worth is tied to an arbitrary standard of beauty. It's also about forgiveness, friendship and self-love.

Maybe not meant for everyone, but for a young teenage girl, it might just be the movie that changes her perspective on a few things. For the genre and target audience, I cannot ask for more.

I hope people give this movie a chance, this is the kind of movie that should find success amid teenagers instead of problematic titles such as "the kissing booth". Ya know?
