This makes serial killers have more noriety, there is a reason why these murders are kept out of the media. The more attention you give them the more power they get. What they have done here is given more power to 3 monsters. One is already burning, the man down stairs will role out the red carpet for the other two.

I read a few less than flattering reviews of In a Madman's World so I went in with low expectations, but that actually helped me because by the end I thought this was a decent well made low budget movie and biography of one of the country's worst serial killers Dean Corll

I can tell the director and writer Josh Vargas did a lot of research and put a lot of effort into accurately portraying Corll's biography. As a result Vargas brings vividly to life the graphic and awful nature of Corll's crimes, the boredom & poverty that existed in Houston's The Heights in the early 1970s & how Corll's unsuspecting victims were lured to their doom. Location settings throughout also gives the movie a lot of authenticity that help immerse you in

I have to say Joe Grisaffi does a brilliant job portraying the creepy Dean Corll, and Chris Binum gives a solid performance of accomplice and misfit Wayne Henley & Bobby Haworth does well as the wigged David Brooks. Yes, there are some rough edges with the script, but I don't think it's a huge deal or detracts from the theme.

Having read a lot about Corll over the years including Jack Olsen's The Man With The Candy, I liked In a Madman's World and anyone with an interest in true crime I recommend it.
