Oh man, where to start with this one. Well, I couldn't even make it through the 2nd episode. I only made it through the 1st after watching in about 6 different sittings. I'll also add that I'm a big fan of the original.
This show tries so hard that it makes it feel very forced, fake and scripted. It's no where near as good as the original, which I really enjoyed. This show was boring and bland and that's me being genrous. Dorothy is not entertaining. Rest if the characters are super meh.
I won't be able to finish this season or series, it's just too terrible. I hope they make another season of the original instead.

I haven't watched the original Bling Empire in LA so cannot compare these two. The NYC version was tolerable with some likeable characters and an overall casual, easy-to-watch vibe. There's obviously some wealth-flaunting but honestly a lot of it feels a bit exaggerated (especially Nam) so I wouldn't take it too seriously. Besides the billionaire heiresses most of these people are far from being as wealthy as they claim to be. Dorothy fits well as the frontrunner as she's both funny & outspoken. Tina, Blake, and the couple (Vika/Richard) are all decently entertaining. The only unlikeable characters in my opinion were Lynn and her long-distance husband. The separate storyline of Deborah and her husband also felt completely disjointed from the main series as they only appeared together with the main crew during episode one and they had the least amount of airtime.
Overall, easy short binge that's obviously heavily scripted but still entertains enough when there's nothing else to watch.

I am currently watching and HAD to create an account just to post my opinion. It is that bad. It is so cringe, contestants are ugly compared to say other Asian shows despite them being also Asians! Everyone looked 10-20 years older than age. I am actually shocked after finding out their age. Forget about their awful failed surgery faces, but how they talk is the most annoying thing that i've ever heard. They try to sound cute? Baby talk? Babbling at 40? Fake high tone? I have no idea but i can't continue because their voice and way of talking is annoying me. Me ear is bleeding. Also i wanted to watch about "elite" asians not some kind of low class clowns. It's hard to think that they even own some kind of money. With this kind of brain it's a real mystery.
Richard: "she's mixed of this and that... I want her to see the world the way I see it."
Nobody will blame you if you thought he's talking about a dog breed and not his girlfriend. His narcissism and masculine aggression can easily be wrapped up in his opening lines.
Dorothy may have a typical mean, demanding rich girl's attitude, but she does have valid points sometimes. But if she doesn't want to be confined to her wealth, and don't trust most people, maybe just maybe, hang out with people who are less $$$-minded? But she's too deeply ingrained in that bling I think.
Jett: "are you gay"? Snowflake... masculine. Gosh, how many more conservative boomer stereotypes can be jammed into one person?
Tina: perhaps the most relatable person for people who don't belong to bling. She's the type that, while halfway through ridiculous rich people debauchery realizes that something bad has gone down and flags it
Blake: sigh, find better friends
Lynn: yea, your kid's grown up, spread your wings like you've always wanted. Don't let your jealous spouse clip your wings.
Nam: no comments
Hungs: wax museum characters... came to life? But like not actually alive...

One of the worst reality tv shows I've seen in my life. I love to occasionally shut my brain from my everyday rhythm with a bit of trashy brainless but entertaining reality tv, and appreciate a bit of extreme super rich decadence lifestyle and superficiality as long as it's aesthetically pleasing and fun. But this is nothing. They are not even good looking a part from Dorothea (the Mexican wife of hung) . They are not doing anything interesting or amazing or fun with their money. They basically don't add to anything on this planet. Dorothy is the most annoying, useless, brat of a human I've ever seen. She is ugly, spoiled, disrespectful, stupid and BORING, she adds no new value to the world in any way, she just exists as a child of a billionaire and is a useless, ugly, boring brat. Terrible people, even worst tv show.
