First Half will take your breath away ... second half, though not lengthy still it feels as stretched

This is one of those rarest movie that people would come across.

The Role is Such difficult to play , Hats off to surya for taking all the shots twice(5000 shots) i.e. equal to almost 4 movies,

Hard work always pays off, and this one surely did

The concept is a great one, that is the life and main forte of this movie

However , We can easily blame director for not keeping the twins till last, but just imagine how many more shots surya would have to take, the movie would have took much more time to complete.

Director has tried to put too much of twists. the one thing i didn't like, it consumed time.

Surya is on the road to become one of the most finest actor in tamil film industry, for sure as he is giving one after the other hits , that include the role which he hasn't played earlier, that makes him most versatile actor.

We will have to Salute K.V Anand for choosing such wonderful locations for songs

Fights and Actions spot on with Extravagant Graphics , with the help of Performance capture technology

Second Half---- very serious.. bit slow.. deals fully with science and genetics, medical....second half length could have been reduced.climax could have been better! Overall: VFX was superb! realistic. songs were good! awesome locations! Excellent acting by all! and beautiful direction!! Honest Verdict 3.5/5(Super Hit) . if second half was awesome, i wud have given 4/5

MUST WATCH!! ITS A SERIOUS MOVIE AND MASALA MOVIE LOVERS MIGHT FEEL SECOND HALF BORING!!. WORTH UR MONEY!! GO AND WATCH IT SOON!

First of all i was frustrated with this year's biggies all flopping down........but i had some hope on Maattrraan due to KV Anand.....But he too proved that a good story and an excellent actor like Surya are not enough to make a movie a grand success.

Surya has performed well especially in the sentiment scenes.Kajal is also offered much scope in the movie.

The movie is pretty enjoyable in the first half but many illogical scenes and poor screenplay in second half make it pretty awkward and a senseless climax kills the movie.Many scenes resemble 7am Arivu.

Overall this movie could have been done better if there was a much better screenplay

A movie which has science and action. What else do we require? I am seriously still wondering why this movie was considered a flop. Cause k.v Anand has done a very neat job in scripting and directing this movie . He is one of the big budget directors in tamil cinema. The first half had fun and thrilling scenes. It was different to see an actor who did something really brilliant after a long time. Surya has proved his acting in different movies. And this movie he strikes the cord. Which is really appreciable. And harris jayaraj was really amazing. His bgms were really impressive. This movie actually required more appreciation than it received. In fact it dint receive any. I think tamilnadu folks don't understand science fictions or they probably need those lungi dances and local cheap stuffs. People should improve. Then probably tamil cinema will improve cause the directors are ready to give impressive scripts but are only going back because of the stupid people.

How and where to begin for this movie, Wel....l this movie is not for the people those who like a masala flick which is having fight sequences and peppy numbers .... this movie is also having all the elements in the first half and not in the second half because of the needed narration for the story....Its very new to Tamil industry the story is fresh , many people may think that this is not possible , but we have to accept such bitter truths that this is much possible in the near future, as well as many people say that this second half of the movie is boring, i don't accept it, because i enjoyed the whole movie for the essence of the story.. sometimes its predictable, some minuses also there but i don't want to point out the minuses because its app laudable effort from the whole team
