Bakasuran

Man is away the entire day earning his livelihood. Wife is preoccupied with housework. Their young daughter is in her room studying, with the door shut. But is she really studying? No. She covertly sends her nude videos to her paramour, who threatens to make these viral if she does not indulge in prostitution. Ultimately she has no option but to commit suicide. Such occurrences are on the rise. Teachers, security guards, cops and hostel wardens are all involved in this appalling scam. Tamil movie #Bakasuran deals with a pertinent topic and boasts of good performances. It certainly needs to be watched by all pubescent women. Running time needs to be reduced by 20 minutes. Rating 3/5.

Usually Mohan. G films create controversy at the time of release to their minimal theatrical run whereas this time the scenario is entirely different....with a clear message of smartphones impact among children in the modern era and educating parents' role in handling it is a well-intentioned and director need to be appreciated but a good intentional thought alone can't save a film... The prime thing to be noted is selvaraghavan as a cold-blooded killer scores well and reminds of "SAANI KAYIDHAM", but his performance as an artist or father is questionable miles to go for this actor... On the other hand natty does give a neat performance required for the character.... Sam cs contribution for bgm or opening song is a best thing in a movie hats off to his work.... Overall an insane story with an amazing message makes this flick a one-time watchable above average movie.

The story starts with a brutal murder and has a parallel narration with Natty and Selvaraghavan characters. The edit points are abrupt and it was just cut in the middle of action. The daughter character wears the same costume in majority of her scenes. The casting could have been better and staging is very bad. The Director seems to have taken just the plot and made emotional only where it needed. The setting look bad in the first half when the character says your brothers daughter died by suicide. Only Sam CS tried to fill the emotionless places with his background score and high pitch notes.

"Bakasuran" is a Tamil film from 2023 that delves into the world of crime and forced prostitution. While the direction and screenplay of the film may not be particularly memorable, the performances of the actors and the thriller effect it produces are the strengths of this film.

Selvaraghavan, Natatajan Subramaniam, Radha Ravi, K. Rajan, and Ramachandran Durairaj deliver convincing performances that bring credibility to the story. The action scenes and twists throughout the film keep the audience engaged.

However, despite these strengths, "Bakasuran" is not a film for everyone. The subject of forced prostitution may be difficult to watch for some viewers. Additionally, the direction and screenplay were not strong enough to give true depth to the story.

In conclusion, "Bakasuran" is an average Tamil film that will appeal to those who enjoy crime films. I give it a rating of 6/10 and recommend it to Tamil thriller enthusiasts looking for an interesting story and solid performances from the actors.

This is a story that needed to be told for today's generation. Bakasuran took time to expose online sex trafficking and its repercussions. We were well advised.

How we just wished that the acting and screenplay were more robust to take Bakasuran to higher heights!

DELICIOUS

-We want to appreciate Mohan G for conceiving this story and upholding cultural values👊🏾 Though there were many occasions to make the movie sexual or explicit, Mohan still retained a sense of decency which was very appreciated, and various examples were illustrated to serve as lessons

-There was no heroine or female love interest for the main characters! Thank you for this originality and breaking out from the typical characters

-Not every development or technology is an advancement, it's still crucial to maintain the good side of our cultures and that's exactly what Bakasuran showed

BLAND

-From the lead characters to the supporting cast, no one stood out. It appeared like one person was repeating his lines, then the other followed with his; it wasn't flowing naturally

-Some of the sequences were quite coincidental while others lacked logic, e.g. Arul is telling his assistant how to trap a pimp but this scene takes place outdoors few meters away from the targeted location

-The movie started off in a captivating manner, however, toward ¾ of the film, the pace toned down with a sequence of predictable events.
