Tanaav is an action crime drama thriller show directed by sachin krishn and sudhir mishra. Its duration is 6 hr 33 min. Also this is an official adaptation of the israeli show 'fauda'.
I am unsure about the acting. Its kind of weird, there is no standout performance even good performers have been inconsistent. Manav vij with his half open eyes becomes repetetive after a certain point of time. His emotional turmoil is half baked. Shashank arora is very good here. Probably the best. Arbaaz khan does not know to deliver dialogues. Rajat kapoor in his soft, manipulative role does pretty well despite having no arc. The other actors are decent or average.
The cinematography is beautiful mostly and abrupt partly. There are some closeup shots that are so close that the characters may crack the camera if taken further. The transition shots from character to character are good. Its kashmir so scenic landscape has been used brilliantly.
The music and background score is good. The thrilling sequences have been supported well here by the bgm. However in other sequences there is an incessant tendency to use the bgm.
I liked the philosphy of this show. It does not immortalize the armed forces and also does not make the militants heroes or villains. It keeps its head in the right place and does it job. You can watch the show if you find it interesting.

Tanaav is a very good show & it gets into action from the 1st episode. I was in am awe seeing this show & thinking Indian shows do have originality.
But then I watched FAUDA on Netflix an Israeli show & realised that Tanaav is word to word & scene to scene copy of FAUDA with few additional Indian masala added to the story.
Now I don't know if producers of Tanaav has copied, inspired or it's an Indian adaptation.
If it's an adaptation it's an excellent work done If it's a copy, still a very good job done by all involved in the show.
Be that as it may Tanaav is still a very good show & a must watch atleast once.

Excellently shot in picturesque locales. A thrilling series of plots & intrigue. It tells a tale of cause & rise of militancy in the beautiful valley of Kashmir with alleged vested political interests of the local leaders & across the border groups. How the youths were influenced by the ongoing situation.. It portrays the sufferings of the local population in difficult times & their sympathies with the disoriented groups encouraged by the outsiders. It also portrays the difficult times faced by local population and suffering faced by the security & intelligence agencies along with local population. The unity amongst locals is a treat to watch. At times the atrocities by agencies is also touched upon. The acting at times is too amatuerish though.

Storyline is good. Screenplay is good but direction and story line in some episodes are not much convincing.
Manav vij is very good actor. Rajat kapur is a very good actor and he has given justice to his role. Ekta kaul and Sumit Kaul has very well played their role.
Waluscha looks very beautiful.
Shashank Arora's character is confused one and he has rightly showcased that. He is promising actor but still somewhere he needs to work on his facial expression specifically for happy mood.
Outdoor shooting is very eye catching. Overall it is good to see web series. Length of the web series is little dragged but still I would say it is enjoyable.

Web Series Review: Tanaav ( Streaming on Sony LIV)
A blast from the past actually. This is a Web Series from 2022 which I missed. Reviewing it anyways....
Tanaav is an adaptation of the internationally acclaimed web series Fauda.
The setting is in Kashmir where an innocent brother of a notorious terrorist - Panther becomes collateral damage at his own wedding in a secret operation carried out by the armed forces to capture his brother!!
This sparks off a chain of events that threaten to derail the peace in the valley that is already on the edge !!
The protagonist in the Indian version is Manav Vij as Kabir who along with his team comprising Arbaaz Khan, Rajat kapur among others attempt to thwart the evil designs of the terrorist Umar Riaz ( Sumit Kaul) and his team Junaid (Shashank Arora) and co.
Having seen the Israeli original by Lior Raz as protagonist Doron Kavillio, I was pleasantly surprised with the Indian adaptation.
Direction, editing, cinematography are bang on. This goes a long way in creating an edge of the seat thriller web series for the viewers. Production quality is high with a great cast. Everyone has given it their all and it shows !!
I saw this despite having watched the original Israeli series and enjoyed it immensely!!
Tanaav is 12 episodes long .. but don't worry.. length of each episode has a runtime of around 25 to 30 mins which makes it a bingewatch worthy opinion!!
Eagerly waiting for the 2nd Season which will begin streaming shortly!!
Going with 3.5/5 for this one .. Adios 🙂!!

I think very few indian people out there have watched Fauda or even know that a series named Tanaav with half its episodes released (thanks to Applause entertainment's rubbish strategy after Criminal Justice 3) has come on SonyLiv.
Fauda was raw and authentic in its treatment. It was long and pretty slow paced but quite gripping. Tanaav on the other hand felt a bit faster paced and hence more gripping. If you watched Fauda already, then no use watching this series its frame by frame remake. I wont have reviewed right away after watching just 6 eps if i hadnt watched Fauda .
Now the big problem with these series set in Kashmir is that there are so many of them out there that now it feels you are watching one same old story again and again over the months. At this point, these kind of series set in Kashmir have become so saturated that its hard to tell whether you are watching a different series or the same one. I personally kept reminding myself while watching this series that "This is a new series, not some old one i have seen a few months back". Try capturing NE now. Problematic situations exist there also and a recent film named Anek had the courage to cover that then why not these series?
The authenticity of this series is totally lost in the gun fight sequences that looked so artificial at times with those vfx flashes and smokes . Gunshots sounded like some video game sounds. This where Fauda races ahead and away from Tanaav.
Acting wise, i didnt really like Arbaaz Khan and his dialogue delivery. He didnt have any boldness in his dialogues and was desperately trying to sound vocal and serious but at times it felt he was just reciting his lines. Manav Vij is a good choice .
Overall, i am not waiting any more for the next set of episodes. If it were to go by Fauda, there should be another 6 and i know whats happening there. Applause should stop this strategy immediately and also stop adapting foreign shows.

It picks up from the first episode.
I did not go in thinking I was watching something adapted.
I saw the trailer and the picturesque frames made me watch it.
The writing, cinematography and the high production value are top notch. Though it comes coupled with risks of a high tension war zone like Kashmir, a lot of duress was given on nuances that take the plot forward AND Oh my god! The casting is chef's kiss.
Shashank Arora is a synonym of underrated.
Notable cast for me is Manav Vij,Sheen Savita Das, Walusha De Sousa & Zarina Wahab.
Sumit Kaul as Umar completely sinks into his character and I am just 3 episodes down but I am hooked.

The series is a remake / inspired from Israel series FAUDA. Acting performance of all the characters are up to the mark. VFX & Cinematography are also good. Just one thing which is missing from the series is a good background score which is necessary for a series like this. Apart from that some unnecessary romantic scenes were included which is not at all needed. The chasing and kidnaping scenes are also not convincing, I mean literary they started firing and kidnaping anywhere in the city and also hurt 2-3 people at the same time. Good to watch if you have nothing to watch in your bucket list.

Sorry I could not watch more than 15mins. Every scene is copied from Fauda. Replacing it with Kashmir, zero originality these days. There are too many shows on Kashmir now and can't distinguish between shows anymore. Bollywood will need get creative and produce original content, otherwise it is difficult to survive now with people having access to quality world wide content.
Major turn off was to see Arbaaz Khan, terrible acting, dialogue delivery. Did not have the strength to watch more. Anyone who has watched Fauda should not waste their time.
Not sure why it was highly rated, definitely should read reviews and not just ratings.

This one is actually a classic from india..! To the point and tight script..! Screenplay is good.. storyline is amazing..! If you are thinking about this.. just go for it.. 9/10
I recommend to watch with family..and if you love such subject you gonna love it even more..!!
Acting - great work by everyone..! Lead actor in dis series Manav vij was fantastic..other cast also did great work..!
It's based on a series but it has its own masala..
A nail biting series will not let you sleep.. it's a bing watch..! It will not make u feel bore at all..!
Best part is no past memories, no time waste..!
Do watch this series.! 9/10.

It's a direct copy of Fauda from Netflix.. though it's nit that griping, might b the reason I have already watched it. Though if not watched fauda you will enjoy this however, characters are nice presented and from original fauda series the Israel conflict is shifted to kashmir one for this. It would have been better but not disappointing as well. Shashank Arora is a really well actor and Rajat Kapoor as always fun to watch another fabulous performance. I would have appreciated a new script other than a copy paste and with the very first episode of series in 30 mins you can tell it's exactly the copy of Fauda.

If I wasn't saw Fauda, I would enjoy this movie. A lot of inconsistences in script, performers and filming angles. A bit cheap indian movie saga (I saw mch worst indian movies).
Arbaaz Khan has a real performing problem, he should play a mute role, Maybe it's the script guilt also, but the man has no acting studies, his performing it's like a cheap Rambo 1. This is a real problem because he is one of the main characters of this movie. Other actors have a reasonable performance.
I am a bit surprised because India has a big background in cinematography and Israel have almost nothing like that.

Mind blowing theories in this season 1
All 12 episodes are amazing.
I see all episodes for this season and I am share this feedback.
Nice casting and editing done in this season. In this season many beautiful places of Kashmir and Bhaderwah are showing in this season.
The casted actors and actresses are very talented and all casted stars are working very well and especially for Arbaaz Khan it works just mind blowing.
Me and my family after watching this season is very happy and my mother said that this season is Mind-blowing and good. All casted stars are worked out standing and places are beautiful especially Bhaderwah.
The story of this season is Mind-blowing.
And me and my family waiting for other seasons.

The tension fills you with excitement and the thrill increases with each passing second. But The show's pace Ep 8 to 12 slows, even during emotional Impact Not Create, and keeps Storyline engaged & Interesting. Production quality Editing Dipartment is Very weak a great casting Couch. In this Tanaav S1 web series it is Decent
Tanaav Season 2 Vol.1 Found it Decently Engaging & interesting, but Vol.2 did not seem that much Sathisped, it seemed ok ok. Treatment should have been a little better, story was completely predictable. Overall S2 One Time Watch #Average special forces neutralize the terrorists show🤙🤙

Amazing show. The cast is too good. Story line is amazing. The direction is 10/10. Need more such gripping shows and actors. The story binds you running through thrill emotions patriotism strength and the feeling of oneness.
Every actor has done justice to their respective characters. The direction is noteworthy. Every moment speaks of the hard work put in by the team.
The story is full of twists and turns making you crave to know what is next in store. The are certain nail biting scenes that keep you glued to the scenes.
I would just say we need more of this kind and we are waiting for season 3.

Could have done better. It's a copy of the Israeli blockbuster series Fauda, however could not achieve the expected results.
The characters, the setup, the plot, the story line, all of them follows the original series. The plot although was made fit for the Indian viewers by using the old and popular chapter.
It isn't bad, you might enjoy it if you have not watched the original. The video quality and locations are fantastic if you can enjoy on big & quality screen. The locations were used appropriately and a lot of strength to the series. The actors have done a fine job .
Overall, it's not a bad watch.

Though this is copied from fauda which is a 10/10 series, it's not where near fauda script and screenplay.
Waste of time, as usual exaggeration of emotions, they can sell the plot, but not the screenplay and acting.
High expectations when you copy a world-class series fell flat.
Please create something on your own, stop copying which comes with high expectations and every copied version fell flat.
Fauda had actors with emotions, body language was too good, the script was excellent also the screenplay which was the recipe for its success worldwide.
Don't exaggerate emotions, that might be necessary for a part of audience, but not everyone who watches world-class series need it.

I haven't seen "Fauda" so I can only judge Taanav based on what I have seen. This I would consider just decent when compared to other web series dealing with terrorism. Manoj Vir is limited in his acting skills as he has only a stern look in his arsenal, where he looks most comfortable. This rubs you the wrong way especially during scenes which requires a bit more histrionics on the part of the actor. The rest of the cast were good in their respective roles. Hopefully the second season has a bigger financing budget to accomodate better setup and action sequences. It is apparent that the episodes have a deliberate drag to it to prolong the series. All in all not a bad series.

I have already watched Fauda, this looks to a cheap Xerox..
Atleast come up with something new Indian creators.
Was by chance watching one episode and I can clearly see scene to scene copy, and acting is horrible.
If you are copying atleast have it as disclaimer or mention it somewhere, without credit to original creator is not good.
Not very sure what was on the minds of the creator before starting on this project
Take the Israeli plot and copy it to Kashmir as this will fit well 😅😅😅😅

Same plot, same storyline, and i can't freaking believe it, its a ditto copy ! Wakeup you dumb bollywood, Arbaaz khan in this series and i was like: did whole bollywood sold their soul and dignity for money ? You dumb bollywood always copying everything, no wonder bollywood is dying, it should be dead, i stopped watching bollywood movies 15 years ago ! Everyone should stop watching bollywood and stop subscribing these OTT platforms ! Save your money because future is tough !

Tanaav offers a solid first act with atmosphere, ambition, and technical finesse. It's captivating enough for those unfamiliar with Fauda and appealing to fans of espionage dramas. Still, it lags badly in the middle, with thin character arcs and lackluster resolutions. Despite flashes of excellence, especially from Shashank Arora and Sumit Kaul it never fully capitalizes on its potential as a nuanced political thriller.
