Binge watched the entire show in one go. Truly marvelous acting. Don't go by the other reviews and watch with an open mind. Plots might seem obvious at some points but the stellar acting covers it up.
People say it's a rip off of Emily in Paris but that's just not true. It has the Bollywood in it which separates it apart.
The characters are well developed, the relationships are well developed. The cinematography also was magnificent. I'm glad I gave this show a chance and I feel everyone should as well if you are looking for a good chick flick.
The comedy at some point could be better but other than that the show has everything. I thought this would be a one season thing but the END! Can't wait for season two now!

I'm not for fluff, I have never liked Karan Johar's movies like Student of the Year kinds .. but call me Bae is actually a nice watch.
Watch it without any judgement. It's pure entertainment with a cute mockery of the rich and famous without being derisive .
I actually watched a few reviews by famous reviewers and earlier decided to drop it because they were not that encouraging.
But having lost trust in the famous reviewers over the last few years (especially after Pathan ;);)) , I decided to give it a go.
The fact that I completed the 1at episode and decided to continue told me that I would sail through.
I particularly loved the innocence of Ananya Pandey. As per the movie, one doesn't have to go to journalism school to be a famous journalist, the same way I feel Ananya doesn't have to be a fabulous actor to hold the entire show. She has done a good job by acting who she is, how we see her on social media .
The supporting cast is full of energy and that doesn't let the show go boring. Vir Das is good as an irritating Tehelka style presenter.
My favourite is the watchman who tells Ananya - Aapki majboori jahan shuru hoti hai, wahan tak pahunchna hee to apna sapna hai 😀 with a snide ref of Siddhant Chaturvedi.

Call Me Bae turned out to be an enjoyable watch, though it had its ups and downs. The show started off weak, with the first few episodes being quite underwhelming. I found myself not having a great experience initially, as the performances and direction in the beginning were mediocre at best. However, as the story progressed and the plot began to unfold, the series took a much more engaging turn.
Once the narrative dove into its core plot, I was hooked. The story became increasingly captivating, drawing me in as the episodes went by. The performances, too, improved significantly as the show advanced, with the last two to three episodes showcasing some solid acting across the board. In these final episodes, the cast seemed to hit their stride, delivering more convincing and compelling performances.
The direction also improved as the series progressed. While the earlier episodes felt lackluster in terms of execution, the later episodes were much more polished. The pacing, scene transitions, and overall storytelling were handled with much more finesse towards the end.
One standout element throughout the series was the music. From the very beginning, the songs were well-chosen and played an integral role in enhancing the emotions of each scene. The way the music was used to complement key moments was well-executed, adding depth and atmosphere to the narrative.
However, the ending left me with mixed feelings. The series concludes with a cliffhanger, which, while intriguing, didn't entirely sit well with me. Rather than pushing for a second season, I would have preferred an open ending, leaving certain aspects of the story to the audience's imagination.
In conclusion, Call Me Bae is far from a groundbreaking series or a new pinnacle of storytelling, but it's a fun and entertaining watch. It has its flaws, especially in the beginning, but as it finds its footing, it becomes an engaging and worthwhile experience.s.

This was a good watch! Very entertaining, dialogue was good, there were some technical errors but not so much that it bothered me. Ananya was VERY good, her expressions were on point and she was grounded where needed, and loved the supporting cast. I do think gurfatteh and her chemistry was good during the important scene they shared, but otherwise his character was too toned down I felt. That's my only really bother because I think there could have been more potential with them. I enjoyed the Bollywood references A LOT. That was a nice touch. Overall great watch, predictable ending but guess we will see what happened if there is a season 2. I do hope there is one!

**NEPOTISM, NEPOTISM, NEPOTISM - but not always, guys!**
First, you should go and watch the show. Don't fall for the idea that it's high-class drama only for high-class society. Anyone can watch it in one go.
The storyline is amazing! It's about a girl from an elite background who gets kicked out of her luxurious life and rises to become a top-notch journalist.
The comedy timing was spot on.
Ananya Pandey-I've always liked her and her acting, except in *Hum Kho Gaye Kahan*. This is her best OTT series with mind-blowing performances by everyone.
Neel's character may feel underdeveloped, but Gurfateh Pirzada is a good actor. Maybe the producers just didn't have much for him in this.
Vir Das, as usual, was great.
Niharika Dutt is absolutely lovable.
Mini Mathur is such a great actress-please give her more screen time!
Muskan Jafferi as Saira was fantastic. Without her, it would be impossible to enjoy this series as much.
Finally, I found Varun Sood's journey wonderful. Loved him in this.
Varun Arora, the upcoming comedy sensation, had limited screen time, but you'll love him in every scene.
Every small character, from the chef in the house to the police station actors, was great.
Go and watch! It's a must-watch drama-comedy.

"Interstellar" is a masterpiece but, can you watch that movie with your grandmother?
Or will you watch "DARK" when you are already tired from a long stressful day?
Every movie/series is different because they are for specific audience and for specific purpose.
This is not a masterpiece neither created to get 10 stars. But I have seen reviewers calling it "unrealistic and exaggerated" but they won't call out KGF for same.
We can't rate all movies/series on same weighing machine, but considering only technical aspects it is 6.5 from side but I've rated it 10 because I know it will get bad reviews.
It is light hearted drama. Which serves its purpose.

I watched it along with my girlfriend expecting nothing but to my surprise it was a very fresh and entertaining watch. Very Gen-Z kind of show but there is something for my generation as well. The casting is very on point and humour is very subtle. Ananya Pandey was made to play this role. Vir Das is playing an entirely opposite character to his real self but still slays the role. Naman Arora once again does a good supporting cameo kind of role.
I think reviews are so low because people are reviewing without even watching it under the assumption that this is yet another show made just for casting nepo kids. I'd highly recommend to watch it once.

Could have been an amazing show, however:
1) no depth to characters.
2) No reality to the struggles of moving penniless to Mumbai.
3) No suspense or follow through to the ' mystery'?
4) TERRIBLE ACTING 5) Very poor comedic timing.
6) Nothing is believable. Not the characters, Not the scenarios portrayed as life in Mumbai, not the ease of getting a job. Not the clothes ( the outfits worn in non air conditioned surroundings. From Heavy satin PJ's to Jackets and I think i spotted a fur!
Come on Guys. Come on Dharma productions! You gave us the best and now you've reduced yourselves to this???
Heartbroken. Especially after KKHH!

The show call me bae is so much fun and a great, light hearted, chic show. If you enjoy shows like legally Blonde or 2 broke girls you will definitely enjoy this, bae is awesome and lovely but lonely, like everyone or more.
There are scenes where bae does wrong thing but she owns her wrongs and tries to do the right for others, it's kinda likelike some akshay kumar movies, comedy but with a slight good messages.
The message in the series goes well with the current situation and puts you in a good mood
I personally love the #bhen_code and how well it is executed. All the characters are lovable in their own way Would recommend 100%

Just finished and it is absolutely, 100% a welcome change !!
Sadly, this nepotism tag / social media fad ruins the fun even before it starts. No wonder this was a mere 4.5 stars to begin with but climbing now.
Nepotism is there .. not denying the obvious but in movie industry where you bet you own money on how the movie would do .. isn't it just as simple as inheriting a family business where there could be better people who can lead the business ??
I think so. You can choose to disagree and it's okay.
Anyway .. not a masterpiece but 100% a one time watch A lot of cringy stuff but a lot of worthy ones .. somewhere here or there a bit of poorly written script but definitely more than a few good moments .. backed by solid performances in their capacity.
And can you believe it .. not a single "gaali" .. like what !!! .. how can you even :)
All in all .. nothing short of a 7 .. all day, every day :)

"Call Me Bea" was a big letdown. The storyline lacked direction, dragging on with slow pacing and scenes that felt like filler. Bea, the main character, was meant to be quirky and relatable but came across as annoyingly naive and one-dimensional. The supporting cast didn't help either - they were underdeveloped and forgettable.
The humor was another weak point, relying too much on awkward moments and forced jokes that missed the mark. It felt predictable and stale, never really delivering any genuine laughs. Overall, it lacked charm, creativity, and depth. Definitely not something I'd recommend.

If you are bored with too much of UP, Bihar , Delhi crime/police shows with vulgar language. This is something different, grab a beer and watch it.
The show is exactly what it wants to be. It's cheerful, not comical but witty at times. This is not for you if you are expecting to be getting life changing, motivational messages or too much complex drama. Even in complex situations like news room it doesn't put heavy drama, it keeps the lighter enjoyable tone.
Ananya Pandey does good job and fits into character well.
The show is visually good, Color pallet used is vibrant, not typical dusty, small town setup,
Overall it's enjoyable even in cliche and predictable moments it maintains its charm and lighter tone.

Okay. So prime in America released this show earlier than india.
1. I never knew ananya pandey will grow onto me, but girlie is dope on this show 2. Good storyline- I initially thought this shows gonna be a spinoff to schitts creek- but NO.
3. The dialogues are so well written. Each action by each character's justified so beautifully.
4. Bae's boss is extremely dull, and he being given a prime time slot icked me. He simply do not fit in the character and with bae.
5. MINI MATHURRRR, i missed watching her on tv, thank you for giving us that :)
In second season - DO NOT LET HER END UP WITH NEEL.(we liked emerald guy better for her ;)

It's literally the same story line as Emily in Paris with a different characters. It took me two episodes to realize as I'm actually watching the Real Emily in Paris on Netflix at the same time! Lol
It's not bad but it's more of something you take as a light watch. It has a few good laughs here and there and although the storyline isn't original it's was fun to watch overall.
Ananya Pandey suits this character as it's the kind of light comedic acting she's best at.
A lot of harsh reviews but people need to realize it's aimed at a certain age group. The younger audience will probably love this.

This series has gotten some flak recently, and in my opinion, it is entirely undeserved. There is a type of critic who is ready to tank ratings for any star kid project, but credit where credit is due, Call Me Bae is very funny, cute, and overall, a fun watch! Not every series has to be Mirzapur some can just be a mindless good time.
Plot: The plot is a fairly typical riches to rags story. We follow the life of Bella Chowdhary (Bae) your fairly typical rich Delhi girl who lives a fairly vapid existence and not contributing much to society. She is thrown out by her husband after her affair with her gym trainer is exposed and she ends up moving to Mumbai. She decides to take her life into her own hands and gets into journalism.
The plot offers nothing out of the ordinary for this type of content, but there is very good attention to detail paid to the life the Bae had to leave behind and the type of lives many girls from rich and famous backgrounds lead.
Bae turns from useless human being into someone that can make a difference. The story is fairly predictable at times but does keep you wanting to watch more.
Acting: Much like Bae, perhaps Ananya Pandey had to be cast out of the big time (the big screen) and on to an OTT platform. This is perhaps Ananya's best performance. Her enthusiasm and impeccable comedic timing really have us as the audience rooting for Bae throughout the series. Eager to see what she can deliver in season 2! She is well supported with capable performances particularly from Gurfateh Pirzada and Muskaan Jaferi.
The best performance truly does belong to Vir Das. He shines as the antagonist, Satyajit Sen, a big-time news anchor who has let fame and power get to his head.
Music: The score is well selected, lending itself well to the events that are happening on screen.
Costumes: Another win is for the costume department who styled Bae perfectly
Verdict: The goal of a series is to get its audience to want another season. In this aspect Call Me Bae certainly does succeed, and I am excited for the next chapter of Bae's life. 7/10.

Ananya Panday has the looks but she just can't act, also she looks like a child, as a character it becomes difficult for the audience to take it seriously. Her persona was on point though, she has supermodel looks for sure but not the personality.
Also weird to say but the two supporting character girls had such a similar face, it becomes difficult to understand who's who initially.
The story is senseless but fun, a lot of motivation from western series for example Emily in Paris. Whatsoever be the case, it's not a bad one, you can watch it for timepass without having expectations.
Varun Sood seems to have potential, Bollywood should explore him with more roles.
Vir Das was amazing, incredible performance.
We still have a long way to go, a series like emily in paris just looks much better because the acting is far better, the characters seem serious with their parts but in call me bae the characters seem to be just trying and trying, they just aren't able to deliver.

I don't often write reviews, but when I really like something, I make an exception. I started watching this show in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep and had no expectations. Interestingly, I hadn't even seen the promo before diving in.
First of all, I have to say that this is one of Ananya Pandey's best performances. She reminds me of Sonam Kapoor from ten years ago, capturing that same charming, giddy essence.
The performances from the rest of the cast are also impressive, surpassing expectations.
However, the standout aspect of this show is its storytelling and dialogue. It's something you'll love and truly feel.

Call Me Bae is a refreshing take on the coming-of-age drama, following a privileged heiress who finds herself stripped of her wealth and forced to navigate the harsh realities of life. Ananya Panday delivers a stellar performance as Bella "Bae" Chowdhary, a character who evolves from a pampered socialite to a resilient and independent woman. The series offers a captivating blend of humor, romance, and social commentary, exploring themes of class, friendship, and self-discovery. As a miniseries 'Call Me Bae' is catchy, lively, engaging and very entertaining. Romance, drama and comedy all merged beautifully and enriched by the clever script, you will be hooked with each episode. The soundtrack and production are top-notch, Ananya Pandey is brilliant as 'Bae'.
Mumbai and social media are shown with sophistication and intrigue with the twists and turns of modern Mumbai-city life are a delight to watch, vadapav and all.
The storyline beautifully captures Ananya Pandey's bae journey as a wealthy woman forced to confront life's challenges, meet people outside her circle, adjust to a new way of living, and ultimately find a purpose in life.
The series offers just the right mix of drama to keep viewers entertained, with an uplifting vibe that can easily brighten anyone's mood. Each character has played their role perfectly, contributing to the richness of the narrative.

Excelent story line ,cinemetography , direction , acting, sets .this series in my opinion a perfect from every field of cinema . Eagarley waiting for 2nd session. The pop up ads were opening in prime "call me bae" new series , I just started watching the series and watch till end at one go that time I didn't know Ananaya pandy is daughter of Chankey Pandey . She acteded flowlessley ,perfect , . So I gogleed it and found the details about actress. She had proven that star kids can also act .congratutions to team casting who had casted all actors in series perfectly. Waiting for 2ñd session. I would have given 10 stars if I would have been casted in series ..

#CallMeBaeOnPrime is a decent watch! Nothing extraordinary but @ananyapanday tried hard to deliver a good performance! Kudos to her for trying.. my only big complaint is Bae seems to be hugely inspired by Alexis from Schists creek during the initial few episodes; the body language, gestures and even dialogue delivery! As compared to the other nepo counterpart, I still feel Ananya is slightly ahead of the curve as a whole package! The jokes could have been better but at the same time, few of them were hilarious! Niharika Dutt and Varun Sood were likeable, Gurfateh was ok! The music is good but nothing great. Vir das was meh! Sayani Gupta, as usual, did a pretty good job.
P. S. - Not really looking forward to the season 2 :-p.
