A fitting tribute

Always loved watching Thaw in The Sweeney and later Kavanagh QC - although his co-star, Nicholas Jones- stole every scene he was in. Also loved Thaw in Morse which is still shown on TV.

Sheila Hancock is also a great actress and was recently in a TV drama (2021) and has been acting since the 60s .

I wasn't aware John had three daughters but realised his step-daughter (Sheila' daughter to Ross) took his name, Thaw- we are not told why she didn't keep her dad's name (he sadly died of the same illness that took John). She is also in the acting profession.
