A young cop Vadim Radchenko is being transferred from Moscow to St. Petersburg. His father serves in the criminal investigation department of Moscow with the rank of colonel. This circumstance strongly affects the nerves of Lieutenant Colonel Porfirin, to whose subordination Radchenko falls. The lieutenant colonel shares his worries with Captain Georgy Kolpakov and orders him to keep an eye on the newcomer. The gloomy Kolpakov immediately disliked the visiting Muscovite, to whom his fiancee Masha constantly calls. In addition, Vadim strives to get into stand-up, constantly taking notes, which also annoys Gosha. Together they go to the first case - the body of a young web model Zhanna, who died of an overdose, was stolen from the morgue. Kolpakov begins an investigation and goes to the institution where the girl previously worked. Having received the necessary information on the case, Gosha recognizes one of the girls as his son Rodion.

Continuing the search activities, the partners go to the uncle of the deceased Zhanna, who serves as a priest. The priest asks the operatives to find the body of his niece in order to bury him. The story with his son has a depressing effect on Kolpakov, he finds out Rodion's address and goes to his house in order to destroy hormonal drugs. Zhanna's friend Aurora, who was present at Vadim's performance at the stand-up club, arrives at the police station. Trying to protect Rodion from his father's abusive attitude, Aurora shows Gosha a video message from her son. The girl is ready to post a video if Gosha does not leave Rodya alone.

A complicated case is rapidly gaining momentum. The attackers steal two more bodies from the morgue. Soon it becomes known that the number of stolen corpses increases to four. On a tip from the morgue attendant, Gosha and Vadim go to the ritual agency "Exodus". Dark criminal cases take place behind the legal sign of this office. Soon the partners find the widow of a man whose body also disappeared without a trace from a closed coffin. Natalya is sure that her husband's coffin was empty at the burial. Meanwhile, Aurora makes contact with one of the former employees of the funeral agency and offers Vadim to go together to an appointment with him. In exchange for information about the real activities of the Exodus agency, a new acquaintance demands a reward. Despite the fact that Lieutenant Colonel Porfirin decides to close the unpleasant case of the missing corpses, and does not give permission for the exhumation of the body of Natalya's spouse, Kolpakov does not intend to stop the investigation.

Gosha and Vadim's activities around the Exodus agency do not go unnoticed. One of the employees of this office, Feliks, gives his partners an unequivocal warning not to pry into the affairs of the agency. Vadik manages to get 300 thousand from his superiors for further investigation. Trying to keep everything under control, Masha wants to meet Vadik's partner, and invites Gosha to dinner. The girl finds out that the day before Vadim worked without Kolpakov, although he claimed the opposite. The police arrest Feliks, who is not going to share with them information about the illegal activities of the "Exodus". In order to get information from Feliks, it was decided to conduct an investigative experiment, to which the ferocious convict Sasha the Unicorn is brought. Gosha instructs Vadim to deal with this issue on his own. Gosha is unnerved by Vadim's persistent interest in his personal life. To find out the relationship with his partner, Kolpakov takes him to the forest.

Trying to get information from Feliks, Sasha the Unicorn strangles him. Vadim submits a dismissal report to Porfirin, but the lieutenant colonel gives him a delay of several months, burning the application. Despite the difficult relationship, Vadim has to continue working with Kolpakov. Soon Unicorn contacts him and informs him that he has received interesting information for the investigation. However, he is ready to share his information only after a personal meeting with Aurora. She manages to get information from the Unicorn about a certain Krishna Surgeon who was engaged in dismembering corpses, and now sits in the "Crosses". Vadik is assigned a new task: he will have to imperceptibly put a beacon on one of the Exodus cars. Meanwhile, Gosha is summoned by investigator Cherkasov, nicknamed Beriya. Cherkasov interrogates Kolpakov for a long time in his office, trying to dig up dirt on him.

In constant anxiety for his place, Lieutenant Colonel Porfirin is extremely glad that the failed interrogation situation was presented as an accident. However, the corrosive investigator Cherkasov is not satisfied with this version of what happened, and he appears in the department for the purpose of a detailed interrogation of operatives. Meanwhile, the attackers are trying to steal another corpse from the morgue. The policemen who arrived almost manage to detain the criminals, but at the last moment they manage to break away from the pursuit. Investigator Cherkasov finds Rodya and tries to persuade him to testify against his father. Operatives manage to reach a certain Maks from Olgino. Gosha and Vadik go to the suspect's house. Maks and his partner resist the police, as a result, it is not possible to take them alive.

After a while, Feliks comes out of a coma. Vadik carefully considers his line of conduct with Feliks, and he manages to find suitable arguments to keep him silent. Pretty drunk Gosha comes to the station, where he finds out that his young partner is talking about his operational work from the stage. To end the conflict, Gosha offers Vadik to get drunk together. Vadik returns to the investigation - he manages to trace the route of the workers of the "Exodus". The young cop takes up the case on his own, realizing that there is no need to wait for help from Gosha. Aurora continues to assist Vadim in the investigation. During the operation, a young operative makes a random shot, resulting in the death of one of the defendants in the case. Having achieved nothing from Kolpakov, investigator Cherkasov persuades Rodion to sign an application for his father, but is refused. Then Cherkasov orders Rodya to be killed and Gosha becomes aware of this.

Gosha rushes to save his son - he manages to shoot the killer in time and kills him. Vadik rides his bike past a bridge with griffins - suddenly he finds an epiphany that helps him solve the main mystery of the investigation. The partners manage to reach the secret society "Gryphon", of which one of the deceased was a member, whose body was never buried. Natalya shares with the police information about the closed meetings of the secret society that take place in honor of each birthday of Peter I. The police, led by investigator Cherkasov, break into the apartment where Vadik and Masha live. Thanks to his father's connections, Vadim is released. Investigator Cherkasov turns out to be one of the members of a secret society gathered in the wedding palace. Gosha has to engage in a deadly battle with the insidious investigator, and meanwhile Vadik takes part in the dedication of the Griffins.
