O Atirador: Missão Secreta

I was dissapointed with this movie. It lacked a descent plot line. Not a lot of action and mediocre fighting from Chad Collins, Ryan Robbins and Sayaka Akimoto. I'm a huge fam of the Sniper series and was hoping this new movie would continue in the format of the other movies but it was very dissapointing. The music just made it a lot worse. I did enjoy watching it but I would not watch it again where as I have watched the other movies in this series over and over again. To me it was a B movie. I guess people are going to have to watch it and make up their own minds. I hope if they continue with the new format they will make a better plot line and more action.

I think the biggest issue behind the low ratings is the title. Expecting a sniper film, then This movie is a disappointment. It's not a sniper movie and the few sniper scenes aren't conventional at all, there's no spotter. No hours/days of waiting, idiotic off-the-cuff planning the snipe, etc. But it's a good movie for a small group of over-trained special forces types with a bass ass girl in the mix, led by a true blue, but jaded CIA/JSOC commander. The villains have similar backgrounds to the good guys but chose a faster but immoral path to riches. Can the reprehensible human/drug traffickers with protection from top-level Corrupt government officials be stopped by by this "rag tag" tight team of "good guys"? The hand to hand combat scenes get long, at least for me. But that's why Sony invented FF. I recommend it, unless you want top level choreographed combat skills and realistic LEO involvement, etc.

I often wonder why this movie was green lighted. The writer and director, Oliver Thompson should really find a different career. Low buget, stiff or non-existent acting. As stated by other reviewers, the music is too loud and out of place.

This film is newb filmmaker Oliver Thompson's second full length feature film as director, and third credit as writer. At first I was really getting annoyed with the typical B-film loud, overbearing and constant score which seemed to be 2x louder than the dialogue, that made me have to up and down the volume accordingly, but thankfully that issue got better as the film progressed.

Thompson's directing was spot on, and you'd never guess he was a newb filmmaker. Even his writing had great continuity, steady pacing, and some nice twists to a well executed story for this genre. The comedic scenes would sneak up on you and were actually funny - a job well done by the actors, and that made the story much more refreshing that I actually wanted more humor. There were some plot and technical issues, but rookie mistakes are expected from a new filmmaker, and Thompson's were few rather than prevalent. The cinematography was great, and once the score settled down and some decent soundtracks started playing, I started enjoying the film even more. The 96 min runtime was just right for the story, and I have no complaints with the editing. All casting and performances were on point and convincing, and the wide range of character personalities was a creative and enjoyable touch, especially the two brothers who were hilarious.

It's not a perfect film, but for a low budget B film from a newb filmmaker, Thompson should be proud of his results. I do hope by leaving that door open for sequels, he gets on that soon, before Mr. Allstate retires, because he'd be perfect as the rogue crew's boss. It's a 7/10 from me, could've been an eight had I not endured the annoying score from the start.

There are many negative reviews here, but these people have never made a movie in their lives and are so critical!

Watch the movie! Working with a low budget, the filmmakers created a dynamic plot full of "What's going to happen next" moments! The camera angles and zoom-ins made the movie stand out to me. Looking dead into the eyes of a character, it has you waiting to hear the pin drop.

There are some moments where the dialogue could've used some work. I could see that some actors were working outside their comfort zone (as in taking roles that are a bit of a challenge from what they've done before, but as artists, that's precisely what we are supposed to do!) but all in all, it is a great story! To find comedy in such a serious matter as busting sec trafficking pins is undoubtedly not easy. Still, they did it in a tasteful manner that allowed the viewer to understand the severity of the mission but also chuckle a little bit.
