Sora: space time oddysee?

3DD is a gimmicky thing for sure…it ties together the series too well and feels tacky…. and made me believe it was the true sequel-which i was disappointed about until i realised. the game essentially takes place in sora and rikus dreams as they pull the worlds back into reality. however, without revealing too much- it appears that others have followed them as part of some grand scheme.

the gameplay and graphics are surprisingly good for a hand-held game- and it was far easier to play than its predecessors like BBS or coded. the new mechanics were a welcome touch- however the dream eater system felt like a test for pokemons poke-amid idea for X and Y. now it may well have inspired the idea of the latter BUT- KH just wouldn't do that normally- especially as the dreamy dreamers act like pokemon too….which is tacky and annoying. however the design is good. trouble is..you don't have a proper party that can wield items and rely on your frankly dimwitted 'pokemon' to aid you.

i rate this seven near basely as i am a fan of the series- and though everything seems tacky and at times distracting-i admit it is a good lead into 3 and showed us the series wasn't dead. however- a warning to you- be VERY WARY OF THE LAST BOSS. i won't reveal anything but since the story has two characters side by side you may be tempted to tackle both bosses at once…Don't. JUST Don't. the final bosses were by far the most annoying of the series…..even 358/2 days wasn't as tedious and convoluted.

A Dream I Don't Want To Return To

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Is a game where Sora and riku have to jump attack their way to Victory, and on bosses use Balloon.

So we have flow motion where you can jump, on one side of the map to the other side of the map. Which on paper is a good idea, But what it means is that you just rushing through giant empty levels that feels so unmemorable.

And because flow motion attacks are so powerful. It means that is what you'll usually using until you get balloons. The gameplay just become going over to wall, jumping up and then attacking down. That is the normal gameplay.

And if you play on critical mode then all the Arcade sections like the one with riku and tron bicycle level will be infuriating and make you want to eat your face.

Birth by Sleep had a good thing going where you could get abilities and them learned them permanently through the command cards.

But the dream Eaters abilities stay with them mostly, they may be one ability you can keep, but all the other stay with the dream eaters so it gives a weird situation where you want to use other dream Eaters, but you have to level them up for them to be useful with the bonuses they give you.

It's such a frustrating system and they do almost nothing in fights.

This is also the game where the Kingdom Hearts stories dies. We basically comes to a story where things are so retcon that it is hard to give a damn about it. Why care about a story if retcon make it worse every new game?

I did not have a good time with this game. I am an absolute hater. I am not the biggest fan of Birth by Sleep but at least I was not filled with hatred while playing it.
