Caught this documentary at the Monmouth Savoy and very impressed. I've always been interested in Lawrence of Arabia after seeing the film and indeed Mark Griffin's feature film Lawrence: After Arabia which looked at his death as an accident or an assassination. Griffin has now made a documentary based on his book of the same name and it is clear in its belief that Lawrence was murdered and the arguments are very compelling.
One of the most touching moment is the end 5 minutes which connects Lawrence's work in trying to unit Arabia with the current problems in the Middle East. End credits with beautiful music by John Piper has one leaving the theatre realising things went wrong not on 7th October but 1919/20. Sad.

Saw Lawrence" After Arabia - Griffin's feature film which tells the story of Lawrence's last year - a few months ago and really enjoyed the story but the crash was only covered in a few minutes. Thankfully Griffin has now written a book and now a documentary which lays out the mystery and who had means motive and opportunity. Its obvious without revealing the answer who Griffin decides who the killer is and its frankly pretty obvious once the evidence is reviewed. Clips from the film are used but the joy is the input from experts who nail Lawrence's character and motivations. I'm hoping this goes to streaming or DVD soon and can catch it again.
I've been waiting for this new feature length documentary to be released since it was announced it would be made back in 2021 and I wasn't disappointed. The arguments were convincing - motives, suspects, historical context, control by the authorities, flaws in the inquest and investigation all point to cover-ups. The writer/director has put together a strong story which has convince me and my partner.
Apparently this has already won Best Doc at 5 festival and this is not surprising - the story is told with the passion of the director and its obvious where his thoughts lie.
Let's hope it goes to streaming or DVD soon!

I vividly recall my parents being avid fans of the 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia, starring Peter O'Toole. Over time, I too have come to deeply appreciate the film and its iconic soundtrack. That's why it brings me such pleasure to see the historical record surrounding T. E. Lawrence's death being thoughtfully revisited and, as it were, "closed" in this documentary.
Mark Griffin has crafted a compelling and insightful narrative, posing and answering a series of provocative questions that shed new light on the mysterious circumstances of Lawrence's death. The film also features a beautifully composed score by John Piper, which perfectly complements the unfolding story and enhances the viewing experience.
I sincerely hope that the evidence presented in this documentary serves to finally resolve the long-standing questions surrounding Lawrence's death, bringing clarity to a complex chapter of history once and for all.

I really enjoyed my evening watching the documentary Who killed Lawrence of Arabia . I certainly feel it raised the necessary points and delved into some interesting and previously
unknown facts and presented some undeniable evidence, especially the statement of Catchpole and the crash investigation by Mr Brough himself. It not only raises points about his untimely death on th motorcycle that day but also of he had lived how It may have changed the course of history for the better, avoiding war as war is so often was about greed and money and power. It was a incredibly thought provoking documentary and I believe it's due to be edited further to remove some dramatic repeat sequences and would then make a thoroughly good watch maybe for TV or DVD.
