In the Name of the Son

The directors of this movie are my professors, but this relationship does not affect my personal opinion of the film. I am not afraid to give my real opinion of this film and I frankly loved this film.

The sound design is for me the movie's biggest strength. You can feel the rumbling dig deep into your chest as if a presence had entered through your chest and shook the very essence of your being.

This is for me, a powerful movie that basically deals with the inner monologue of a disturbed man who has seen the ugliness of life. It is a deeply disturbing experience. One that has sent chills down my spine. The broken, fractured reflections in the film represent an innocent soul corrupted by the ugliness of life. You didn't need to understand what was being said to know that this is a story of someone who was abused.

In the fractured reflections, you see a man reduced to a whimpering child crying in the corner. What ugliness could this man have gone through to become this broken? And how can anyone inflict it?

This movie is not recommended for those who are faint of heart. However, if you are looking to take up the challenge of seeing this film, I highly recommend you take the chance, but do so at your own risk.
